"Mommy! Daddy! Let's ride the Ferris Wheel!", the child shouted with joy while holding on to her parent's hands. They are currently enjoying their time in the newly opened park near their residence.
The child was so happy to see her parents smile and laugh like normal people do. At a young age, she witnessed her father carrying suitcases and driving cars away from home. There were very few moments in her memory that they were together. That's why, on her 5th birthday she personally requested her father to stay with them and enjoy the day at the park. She doesn't care about any celebrations. All she wants was for them to be a family, even just for a day.
Her father is very hardworking. Although her mother always tells her good things about her father's work, she can clearly see the loneliness in her mother's eyes.
"Why don't we take a rest for a while? I'm incredibly thirsty", her mother exclaimed with a bright smile. "Me too. How about I buy you a lemonade?", her father ask. Seeing how happy her parents are, she agreed right away.
They walked towards a stall selling numerous refreshments. Her mother ordered the drinks while her father secured them a table and three chairs. The afternoon sun was scorchingly hot. It was a clear sunny day. A perfect day in her young and innocent mind.
People shouting nearby alongside a booming sound captured the child's attention. She watched the roller coaster ride frighten and scare its passengers up and down its course. She looked at her father with beaming eyes. "Let's ride the Roller Coaster instead!"
Her father chuckled. "Only the brave ones can ride the roller coaster. Are you brave enough?" He teased his little daughter while silently glancing at his wife on the counter. "Of course!", the child replied with certainty. He smiled. "I believe you. There's just one thing, though. You'll have to convince mommy to ride the roller coaster." The child glanced at her mother carrying a tray with refreshments, carefully walking towards their direction. "That's easy", she exclaimed with pride clearly written in her small face. "Oh yeah?" The father laughed wholeheartedly at her daughter's dominant attitude.
The child thought carefully about how to convince her mother. She was lost in thought when she suddenly heard a deafening sound of explosion very close to where they are. Startled as she was, she looked up to see her mother's bloody face slowly fall to the ground. Horrified of the scene unfolding in front if her, the little girl closed her eyes tightly. She felt her father's arms grabbed her right away and helped her hide under the table. Terrifying screams of pain and agony filled the air. "Stay here sweetie. I'll get mom, okay?", she heard her father say. She felt a kiss in her forehead and after that, multiple gunshot sounds pierced through the air. She grabbed her knees and tried so hard not to cry. Fear gripped her heart but she can't give in to it. This is her birthday. Her father is definitely going to rescue her mother. She doesn't mind staying in the hospital to watch her mother recover. She doesn't mind anything that will happen as long as they can get away from this place as soon as possible. So she waited for her parent's return, but she heard nothing. Not her father's voice nor her mother's. Everything went silent. She slowly opened her eyes, only to see their bloody lifeless bodies a meter away from her.
