Chapter 18 - If we're headed for ruin, then why would I bother?

"Wow... you're not normal are you?" Alastair ruins the mood favoring me currently. I scowl at him and say: "What's your problem now?"

"I know that you want revenge and everything- but this is all dark-"

"Revenge?" I ask him, snickering. How is any of this revenge? "But what's the war got to do with anything?" I sneer at him.

"You." he says pointing at me, "can stop this war-"

I freeze. Me? Is this guy for real? If the previous Evil Queen couldn't stop the war- how could I- possibly do such a thing?? Is he stupid or what- I know he hates me and everything.

I snorted at him. Seriously?

"You're being inhumane,"

"Look, buddy, I am practically more humane than you are. If you have any problems, rant it out to the Priest." I say angrily. What revenge? I would rather run away! Haha... I just want a peace of mind. SO... God bless you!

"We're headed for ruin. Don't you get it?? The mortal realm and the immortal realm would both suffer from this disaster! You need to stop it!"

Tch. What crap. I rolled my eyes.

So what?

"So what if we're headed for ruin? Why would I bother anyway? I am looking for my vacation. If people think I am wrong- then go to the Emperor, not me."

As far as I am concerned- I just want to pack my bags and pull my middle finger out and yell: "Screw you all!" and leave this stupid kingdom for once and for all! Who can stop me? I am practically speaking more humane than anybody here.

I roll my eyes inwardly and tell him, "now let me finish my work. You said you'll help me- instead, you're giving me an earful," I say as I clean out my ears.

"I am helping you!" he cried.

"Tch... then go to the Emperor," I said waving him away. This country goes to hell as long as I don't have to be the scapegoat.

"Anyways, why are you telling me this? Again- I don't want you to tell me because I am special and everything- I know that- but- yo-!"

...

"Mademoiselle, is your class over?" I heard the butler on the other side of the door.

"Yes," I call out, "please prepare for the guest's leave-" I say loudly.

"-What!" Alastair snapped back.

"...alright if you say so," the footsteps walked away. I stood up and pointed my hands at the door and said:

"You heard him- dear guest, please take your journey home safely,"

"...I am warning you, the future will be in danger- if you don't do anything now, a great war will break out between seven nations. There will treason, and bloodshed everywhere. And the victim of this war will also be none other than you."

I flinched when he said those words. I closed my eyes. No. I won't let that happen.

"We'll see later," I say angrily.

"Don't anticipate much... your future is in danger," he warned me again. I gulped. The war huh? The thing that happened in my previous life. The treason that made me lose my head. I felt a shiver down my spine.

"We'll also see who will be the real victim," I warn him.

"I'll visit you again," he said as he leaves, but before he does, he warns me one last time, "I don't know why the devil sent you back again- but I know one thing. He sent you back to fix the past."

"Tch..." I pursed my lips into a straight thin line. Fix the past..? I furrowed my eyebrows and said:

"No, there is no way I am losing to this stupid war again..."

I won't follow the past.

I want my freedom.

This is why I came to the past. And this is what I'll fix.

If we're headed for ruin. Why bother? Well...

The future of this nation can go to hell. And I can flee with my vacation to an island.
