"We are going to war," the Emperor says so calmly, without the slightest bit of hesitation. The people around me were surprised and a little shocked... but I was on a completely new level. I was cursing, swearing, crying, yelling, and calming down all at the same time. I think I have gone crazy.
That's when I knew... the Emperor is the Harbinger of Trouble. He's the most powerful magnet in the City of Problems! He isn't my solution to my problems- he is the freaking heavy load on my levers! That's crazy! I can't go anywhere with these troubles!
The Archduke simply nodded and said, "Please tell us our next step to start the war,"
I froze. Wait- Hold on! You can't start a war like this! I haven't mentally accepted this yet- this never happened in my previous life! Nope!
"For what reason- is that for that we are starting a war? And who are starting it with-?" I hesitatingly asked.
"The Kaos..." the Emperor said. Elerdia, the name of our Kingdom was forever enemies with Kaos for years. We managed well terms of peace... but there were terrorist attacks coming from here and there. No wonder why there was more problem in our fief. Victims from the attacks were sheltering in our area.
Ha. War? Is this where we take sugar and spice and easily mix it in a milkshake? How can you take the war to a grain of salt huh? Do you have any idea how much paperwork I do every day to take care of the Castano Fief?? Now I have to sit down and do more!
This Annoying Magnet won't be sitting and filling the paperwork- he's the symbol of 'I sit, you work,' and I will have more problems managing the shelter area and taking defense!
"Y-your Majesty- the Spring Festival... people won't be happy," I said weirdly.
"Your Majesty, this war wasn't planned out, have you talked to the Ambassadors?" Duke Valerius cut me.
Emperor grumpily nodded and said, "Yes. The Kaos refuse to trade, and they refuse to manage their terrorist attacks. Now, rebellion is coming out from there. We need war to shush them."
Shush them? Nope... I don't wanna be involved! War = Trouble = Danger in my Life. I don't want to die full of regrets! I won't die for this damn country! I swore an oath that I wouldn't. Suddenly, someone's familiar reminder came into my head.
'Alastair' I muttered, I twitched my eyebrows. Tch. It's Fake God. I was suddenly reminded of what he had said to me the other day. Death. Treason. Rebellion. I clenched my fists. He did say he would help me.
"I want you, my Grandson," the Emperor said calling out the Archduke. "To go to the East Country's borders to stop the forces from heading this way."
"This may be a quick decision, but after talking with the ambassadors- I think we may have the upper hand to the war,"
Upper hand? You mean, you'll just sit around, let us- the dogs fight for you? Does he think I am stupid? Well, what did I expect? He's an icon of 'I sit, you work.' Hmph... lucky jerk.
"Lady Castano, while you're still young, I want you to debut to the Highsociety as fast as you can, our kingdom is in need of you," the Emperor says. "Grandson, take care of your fiance," he says as he looks at the Archduke.
Archduke Leon nods his head and says, "I will not bring you down, Your Highness,"
"Grandfather, Your Highness," a voice calls out from the other side of the door. Everyone cranes their head to look at the person who had just arrived. The First Prince, Jacob de Volpe. The Archduke slightly twitched at the sight of him.
Duke Valerius was looking between the First Prince and the Archduke. There was no secret that everyone was trying to figure out who will be the next crowned emperor. This happened in my previous life as well.
The Archduke and the First Prince were grandchildren of the Emperor. Both of their parents have died at an early age, and there was no secret there was a competition between those two. It was also the main reason why I even bothered gaining powers in my previous life.
I snort, inwardly actually. This palace drama is simply amusing. But... NOPE! Not interested! Keep your palace drama to yourself! Don't wanna die!
"Yes, Grandson, yes there something you want to say?" the Emperor said looking at the First Prince.
"Your Highness, please excuse my interruption, it seems as if that the Kaos has finally launched their first attack!"
The Emperor stands up angrily from his seat, as I start trembling.
Feeling Bad x 1
"Declare War." the Emperor says. He looks everyone one of us in the Hall with eyes filled with a warning tone:
Feeling Bad x 2
"Everyone, prepare the Royal Army, the Dukedom Army, and start the War!"

"Mademoiselle? Do you want to go somewhere?" the coachman asked as he saw me coming out of the Imperial Palace.
"Yes... take me to the Bar... I need some whiskey... No.. vodka! I am going mad! I got scammed big time I tell you!"
