Chereads / Unlovable Rose / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Rainn

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Rainn

A loud groan is heard in the bedroom of a man that hates to wake up in the morning because of the simple fact that he has to leave his comfort zone, his bed.

He stops the alarm on his phone and looks beside him to see an empty space there. This fact made him grumble more as he got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. He hated mornings but above all, he hated waking up alone because this meant he didn't have anything or anyone to play with to start his day off right.

The last girl toy he had dumped him when she found out he didn't actually love her or anyone for that matter and he hasn't been able to find anyone else since. His normal circle of friends has dwindled and has spread the word of his devious deeds in hopes of getting him to stop.

But he won't stop, he loves to play with his toys and up until they find out they are toys they love to play with him. His games and lack of respect for women has earned him a pretty bad reputation in his area but he loves it. He's always been the rebellious bad boy type and the fact that the girls so easily swoon over him comes with the territory.

He gets dressed rather quickly in his normal comfortable jeans and a random t-shirt before heading out the door to his car. "Where should I go today?" He smiles as he browses local events on his phone. "Oh, graduation is today and USC? Perfect." His smile grows as he starts his car and heads to his destination.

Once there he parks his car and strolls right in, he easily blends into the endless crowd despite his obvious underdressed appearance. Within minutes he has drawn the attention of many girls there including a short yet attractive girl with blue hair that seems entranced by him. He smiles and walks over to her which causes her entire face to blush a shade of red he's never seen before.

"Hi." He smiles at her once he's in front of her.

"Hi." She whispers her reply and looks away.

"Shy aren't you?" He chuckles at her.

"Bold aren't you?" She replies with a smile forming.

"You graduating today?" He asks as he admires the dress that is as blue as her hair and hugs her body before flowing loosely around her legs.

"Yeah me and my best friend Rose." She smiles and finally looks up at him and makes eye contact.

"What's your name then?" He asks smoothly as he keeps eye contact with her.

"Violet." She replies which makes him smile at the irony.

"Explains your blue hair." He chuckles before reaching out and touching it.

"Yeah." She breathes out as she keeps starring into his eyes. "What's your name?"

"Rainn but you can call me Ray." He grins before he hears someone calling her. "I think your boyfriend wants you." He groans and walks away.

"What?" She asks now snapped out of her trance. She looks around and sees Jacob which makes her growl loudly in frustration as she storms off to give him a piece of her mind.

"Too bad, she was cute too." Rainn grumbles as he walks away from her. He doesn't get too far before he spots a woman entering the school with a red dress on and long flowing blonde hair. "Beautiful." He whispers as she looks around and sees him as well.

They make eye contact and stare at each other for a while before he smiles and decides to approach her. He watches as her eyes change from holding interest, to annoyance and then to fear before finally looking at him with frustration.

"Hi." He says sweetly in a smooth voice.

"Hi." She replies as nicely as she can and gives him a fake smile.

"What's your name?"

"Rose, yours?"

"Rainn but you can call me Ray." He smiles as he takes a step closer to her which made her take two steps back.

"Hello, Ray, here for the graduation?" Rose asks with fake interest as she looks around the school for her friend.

"Kinda, what about you?" Ray asks as he looks over her body and admires the red form-fitting dress that shows off her every curve so well.

"Yeah, I'm graduating." She replies while looking him over as well, she mentally admits that he looks good despite him being underdressed for the occasion.

"You look beautiful." He says softly as he moves closer to her again which caused her to step back. "Why do you keep moving away from me?" He asks with frustration in his voice.

"Why do you keep moving closer?" Rose asks with a bit of an attitude and gives him a firm look.

"It's called flirting." He rolls his eyes at her.

"It's also called invading my personal space." She rolls her eyes as well and walks past him to look for her friend.

"Did she just?" Ray asks himself as he watches her walk away. "You intrigue me, Rose. Beautiful yet you have thorns just like a real rose." He whispers as he follows her only to see her talking to Violet. He smirks as he sees them talking. "Roses are red and Violets are blue."

Ray watches them from a distance until the announcement that the ceremony is about to start. He won't deny that these girls have his interest but the one that interests him the most is Rose. He loves her almost golden hair and how it flows down her back so freely. He loves her emerald green eyes and how they show her emotions so intensely. He loves her body and every curve she has as well as her soft yet firm voice that seems so gentle yet so demanding.

"What is it about you?" He grumbles to himself as he stands far away from the stage and watches the ceremony intently.

"Rose Moore." The name causes him to smile as he hears it and watches her take her diploma from the man that just said her name. She smiles and holds her diploma high above her head which caused a large group of people to cheer loudly for her.

"Well then Rose it seems you are very popular." He muses to himself with a small grin on his face as he watches her walk off the stage.

"Violet Morris." The man calls out which made Ray look and see Violet receive her diploma as well.

"The irony." He chuckles as he turns and walks off to find Rose. He walks around to where he saw her walk off the stage and finds her talking to who he assumes is her parents. He decides to wait off to the side and allows her to talk to them in peace.

She looks and sees him and rolls her eyes. She hates how she hasn't even gotten rid of one guy yet and she already has another one after her. She grumbles and decides to talk to him and get him to back off so she excuses herself and walks up to him which only made him smile.

"Ray was it?" She asks as she places her hands on her hips.

"That's me." He grins at her as he takes a step towards her but this time she doesn't budge.

"Care to tell me why you're hanging around where I am so much?" Rose asks accusingly.

"I think you're beautiful, I can't take my eyes off of you and I want to take you out to dinner to celebrate your graduation." Ray replies in a sweet and innocent tone since her parents are watching them.

"Not interested now go away." Rose says firmly and turns around.

Ray takes a step back in shock, he's never been rejected before. He watches her as she rejoins her parents but keeps her back to him. He doesn't know why she interests him so much but she does and he's more determined than ever to find out why but for now he decides to back off.

Shoving his hands in his pockets and brandishing a disappointed look on his face he walks away. He decides to head out to the parking lot and wait for her to leave, hoping to catch her alone so he can try to persuade her yet again.

An hour passes and he finally sees Rose walking to her car alone, he looks around and sees no one so he approaches her yet again. "Hey." He says in a soft voice so he doesn't scare her, she groans loudly and turns around with a seriously annoyed expression on her face.

"Yes?" She asks obviously very annoyed that he's bugging her yet again. She just wants him to go away and not bother her anymore.

"I just wanted to say that my offer still stands to take you to dinner." He says rather shyly as he shifts his weight uncomfortably. He's acting weird even for him and he can't understand why to save his life.

"If I go will you leave me alone?" She lets out an exasperated sigh and looks at him.

"If the date goes well then I'd want to take you out again so I can't say that I will." He replies honestly which made her smile a bit.

"Alright, I'll go but not alone since I don't know you at all. Meet me here at 7 and bring a friend as well, it'll be a double date." She says with a big smile as she unlocks her car and climbs in quickly.

"A double date?" Ray stands there stunned as he processes what just happened. He hears her car start and looks down at her only to see her smile and give him a small wave before driving away. "I've never been on a double date before." He groans as he heads over to his car.

On the way home, he thinks about who he can possibly bring with him on a double date that wouldn't judge him. All his friends knew he wasn't the type to agree to something like that and he honestly had no idea why he agreed himself.

Once at home he takes out his phone and decides on his best friend Hunter. If anything he knows Hunter will be good company if things go wrong and plus he knows Hunter will appreciate the chance to go on a date again. He pushes the button to dial him and smiles when he answers almost instantly.

"What is it, Ray?" Hunter grumbles through the phone.

"What's the matter Hunter mad cause I interrupted something?" Ray retaliates with amusement in his voice.

"If you're calling to gloat about some new chick you banged you can go to hell."

"Nah not today." He chuckles lightly. "I actually got a new girl I'm after but she won't be around me alone. She said she would do a double date so I want to bring you."

"A girl with some sense to not fall for your tricks...rare. She just might be out of your league." Hunter says with amusement evident in his voice.

"She's a challenge and I love a challenge." Ray grins as he looks in the mirror at himself. "Come over here by 6:30, we need to meet up with them at 7." He says quickly before hanging up. "Guess I should dress to impress." He grumbles a bit before deciding on casual yet dressy pants and a shirt.

Right at 6:30 Hunter arrives dressed similar to him yet different. "Great minds think alike." They smile before heading out the door and to Ray's car. They head to the school and see them pull up right at 7.

Both girls exit the car as do the guys, Violet sees Ray and blushes at first then frowns once she realizes he's not her date. She turns her attention to Hunter just as he looks at her, they stare at each other and end up blushing heavily as the girl's approach .

"Ready?" Ray asks with a smile, Rose and Violet nod and enter the car not knowing what to expect.
