This scene confirms to Dale that what his body wants now is to lock Lucy into his arms! He moved inch by inch closer to her but the sudden sound of a phone call stopped him. Lucy hurriedly answered, finally their life savior, it's Howard. Lucy has been texting and calling him since earlier.
"Howy, thank God you finally called! Where are you now? Howy, help us, please. Dale and I got stuck at the hotel's broken elevator and you know I have a ---" Lucy stopped talking as she felt warm hands touching her cheeks.
"Why Dale? What is it?" She asked confusedly. Their eyes fixed with each other.
After a while, Lucy's eyes widened as Dale suddenly smashed his young lips to her!
Lucy momentarily felt Dale's soft lips and the hotness of his breath that seemed to be sweeping over her. Her body could feel how he wants more than a smack, her mind is shouting no but her body craves it as her lips subconsciously submit to him.
Her hands felt numb. She let go of the phone, the sound of it after falling to the elevator floor awakened her senses.
Lucy's sense of shame and conscience are too high, her mind kept telling her that this is wrong. So she tried her best to overcome the sensations that she's feeling and when she did, she used all her strength to push Dale. At the heat of the moment, her tiny fist threw a strong punch on his shoulder which instantly awakened him.
"OUCH!!" Dale cried in pain while holding his injured shoulder.
He, who looks like someone who was put under a spell or maybe who just got drunk from the heat he felt earlier.
"ARE YOU CRAZY? Can't you see that we're already in an emergency now? Yet you still have the energy and time to do weird things! Have you forgotten that I have a boyfriend?" Lucy turned into a dragon who kept spitting fire! If this was a Boxing match, then Dale was surely knocked out earlier as Lucy continuously spoke faster!
Dale, who looks pitiful and dejected, chose to turn away again. "I'm sorry Ms. Lucy, I didn't mean to! I don't even know why I did it..." he whispered.
Though Dale is very apologetic and finds it hard to understand himself. One thing is for sure, his heart lightened now. Hmm… but how come her lips were like marshmallows, fluffy and sweet! Is it her faded lipstick? He uttered inwardly.
A moment later…
The silence was killed by Lucy. "Dale, we need to get out of here soon because if we don't, I think I'm gonna die of suffocation," she said, clasping and sinking on her knees. "Truthfully I just don't want to burden you but Dale, you know what I-I have a Claustrophobia eh!"
Dale clearly understands everything she had said since other than being a natural bright kid he is also into books. "Your Claustrophobic? What are we gonna do now Ms. Lucy?" He was worried though his eyes were still stuck to the wall.
"Can't you feel it? Little by little I feel the air in here is getting thinner..." her voice started to get shaky.
Dale knows that what he needs to do now is to give comfort and calm Lucy down and so even if he is still embarrassed, he chose to be courageous. He confronted Lucy who looked so weak now.
"Ms. Lucy, do you remember thanking me for helping you and I told you that I'll help as long as I can, right? But now that we're both stuck so I can't possibly do anything other than this..." he took off his sleeveless shirt making Lucy blast into laughter.
"What now Dale? Don't tell me you're planning to comfort me by getting naked!" Lucy can't help but stare at Dale's looking so fit and healthy body. Earlier she just had a glimpse of his back and it instantly made her shiver.
Hih-hih-hih --- she suddenly started hiccuping. Her eyes widened as she covered her mouth. It's so obvious she's getting conscious of this young man!
"Why? Are you tempted? I look so hot, right? You don't believe me eh, I told you I'm not a kid anymore!" Dale confidently stood up, it's as if he's doing a stunt. Showing off the muscles that he got from riding a bicycle every day going in and out of school.
Without realizing Lucy's hiccups stopped. Dale is the reason for her hiccups and also the cure! Lucy cheerfully laughs watching him. She knows that he is just a kid but whenever he's near her she feels secure. Maybe because he is becoming a handsome young gentleman enough for her to feel the chills.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, Ms. Lucy! I'm not here to perform for you. I don't want to be punched again, that tiny fist of yours can surely throw a big punch!" he cracked up.
He sat beside her, straightened his legs, folded his sleeveless shirt into a mini pillow then put it over his legs. He pulled Lucy to him, making her head laid onto his lap.
"I'm here to comfort you and to calm you down, Ms. Lucy! You should sleep and when you wake up, that closed door is already open and you will see your boyfriend standing there." Dale bitterly said but he knows that right now Howard is their only hope to get out of here before Lucy starts panicking even more. That's why in his mind he prayed for Howard to come to their rescue soon.
"Dale, you smelled nice. Is it your perfume?" Lucy asked in closed eyes trying to get a nap.
"I don't think so, I think my perfume was already washed out by pool water earlier so I guess it's my natural scent."
"Hays! I'm not the one who's getting ahead of myself, you are!"
"But Isn't this nice? I did the right thing following you here because it's better to get stuck together than to get stuck alone, right?" he sighs while stroking Lucy's hair.
"Hmm, you're right. Thank you Dale for following me and thank you for always coming to my rescue, even if I don't ask." She buried her face on Dale's tummy, her arms hugging him as she started crying. "I admit you're not a kid anymore… instead you're a YOUNG GENTLEMAN."
Dale smiled upon hearing her, he felt his tummy start getting wet by Lucy's tears because she began feeling afraid and so he gently tapped her shoulders. His other hand was still stroking her hair then he started humming trying to make her fall asleep like a baby.
