Nearly thirty minutes, Howard gets to the hotel, he goes directly to the lobby to talk to the operation manager.
At that moment Charlie and everyone decided to change into dry clothes. As they were walking to the elevator they saw Howard panicking in front of the hotel staff.
"Oh hi, Sir Howard!" Meg greeted Howard while beaming and waving at him.
"Why? What is happening here?" Charlie sensed that something wrong was happening.
"I called Lucy, she said they got stuck in the elevator. The Operation Manager here told me that maybe they got to that broken elevator because the under-maintenance sign got misplaced. But the problem is she's Claustrophobic!" Howard looked and sounded worried.
"Woah! Is this some kind of a weird gift of God for Dale?" Kevin muttered to his girlfriend. Meg instantly rolled her eyes at him.
Charlie felt frightened for Lucy. But she felt more frightened thinking what Dale and Lucy might be doing while being stuck alone together at the elevator!
"Ah-ah… I'm sorry, I think it's because of me, I put back that sign in there after I bumped into it earlier. But I didn't realize that I put it back in the wrong place! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." It's Anthony while scratching his head looking so guilty.
"WHAT? Are you an idiot? Where is your mind, Anthony?" Charlie got mad.
"Where is that maintenance? Is the hotel clinic ready for them? DO EVERYTHING TO OPEN THIS GODDAMN ELEVATOR!" Charlie howled furiously that everyone couldn't help but gape at her.
"Yes Ms. Xu, I already called the maintenance and the nurse." The operation manager stumbled looking so afraid of this kid, Charlie.
They all went up to the fourth floor where the elevator had stopped.
As the metal door of the elevator opened, everyone FROZE!
They saw Dale half-naked while hugging Lucy whose head was on his lap. Dale's head resting on Lucy's head while they're both silently sleeping!
Because of the sound the maintenance staff caused in opening the elevator, Dale woke up, only to see that everyone's wide eyes were now staring at them with confusion and intrigue. Though when it comes to Charlie and Howard's expressions, I guess it's a different case.
Dale tapped Lucy to wake her up, but before Lucy could even properly sit, a loud sound of a SLAP turned all their gazes to Charlie and Anthony!
"OUCH!?" poor Anthony was shocked after being slapped hard by Charlie, who's looking devastated while staring at Dale and Lucy.
"HOW CAN YOU BE THIS STUPID, ANTHONY!" Charlie yelled with teary eyes.
"CHARLIE!" from a distance a Chinese-looking man who's walking beside a middle-aged man outrageously called her out.
"D-Daddy?" Charlie stammered, fear is now covering her.
The operation manager and the guards and staff greeted them both.
"Oh, Dad?" It's Dale, looking at the middle-aged man who's standing beside Charlie's father.
"Let's talk later, Son." he briefly said then smiled a little at everyone. He tapped the shoulder of Charlie's father then walked away.
While Charlie's father on the other hand harshly grabbed her daughter. "YOU UNGRATEFUL CHILD! Don't you know how to behave yourself! How could you act carelessly in front of these people, especially in front of my business partner! You're such an idiot!" Charlie's father practically screamed furiously.
As his uneatable words go inside Charlie's heart, add the humiliation she's feeling now, she bursts into tears. His father then angrily dragged her away from them. She couldn't do anything but follow him as she took a last glance at Dale and Lucy.
Dale helped Lucy stand up, but her legs felt a little numb so she almost fell. At that moment Howard got to hold her other arms while Dale on the other.
"It's alright, I'll take care of MY GIRLFRIEND from here!" he commanded, his tone was arduous. Then let out a smile though his glare was full of jealousy.
Dale couldn't do anything but hold off Lucy then watched them leave. Everyone goes back to their rooms, still wondering over everything that happened.
After Dale took a shower and changed into dry clothes, he was called out by his dad. When he got to the VIP room, his dad casually greeted him and gave him an ATM card telling him to buy anything that he wanted. Dale wishes to have a chat with him as other sons and fathers do. He wanted to share about him and Lucy but his dad said that he is busy now and that he needed to go home because his wife is waiting. As if he wanted to make Dale know what's his place for him. Just his Successor!
After Dale sadly goes out of the VIP room, Lucy is the first one to come to his mind while holding the ATM card. So he barely ran the hotel hallway reaching the clinic. Because if there's something that he knows now, it's that lately he felt that he needed Lucy whenever he was lonely.
When he got to the clinic, the nurse was gone. He heard Lucy's weeping and so he carefully pushed the curtain to see her. The excitement left him then his expressions turned dark seeing Lucy weeping while being hugged by Howard.
With his shoulders down, he silently walked out of the room. Walking in speed while his fist tightly shut, gnashing his teeth, his eyes were teary. His emotions got mixed which he couldn't evaluate, all he knew was that he hated seeing them together and that he's sad too!
"I guess I'm late… again."
