Elijah finished his meal and stood up to leave the inn when was stopped by three thugs who stared greedily at the little Thunderclaw Falcon on his shoulder.
It was still small but its golden feathers looked very majestic especially they three longer feathers on its head.
Its sharp purple pupils eyed the three thugs curiously, it was only three days old.
Elijah had devoured its soul immediately after it hatched, engulfing it with his Soul Flux.
He could really see through the eyes of the falcon just like the Guildmaster told him.
"Brat leave the bird behind and we will let you leave in one piece." Threatened one of the Thugs.
Elijah's opened his eyes looking at these clowns. Their smile grew broader when they saw that he was blind.
"Kill them!" Ordered Elijah, stunning everyone in the inn. They looked at the little falcon on his shoulders and everyone started to laugh.
*SWISH*
A shadow shot out of Elijah's sleeve, it was too fast for them, they only slapped their necks like one would do if a mosquito stung one.
"What the hell was that?" Cursed a thug annoyed.
The other one looked confused at Elijah who walked past them.
"Brat where do you think you are going?" Shouted a thug.
"Hahahahahaha." Elijah ignored them while laughing, he just kept walking out of the inn.
It was only then, when the three thugs wanted to go after Elijah that they noticed that something was wrong with their bodies.
They couldn't move even a single muscle. Their words were stuck inside their throats, their lips didn't move anymore.
Purple veins popped out all over their bodies. They started to shake violently, with purple blood coming out from their orifices.
Twenty seconds, that was the time that passed until the three thugs fell dead on the floor.
The whole inn was deadly silent. The people were terrified, one of them gulped, "I know what that was, it was a Purple Death Cobra, my god that youth is a Ranger!"
The people discolored when they heard Purple Death Cobra.
Some of them looked at the corpses of the thugs and sneered, this was the border, no one dared to offend a Ranger here.
Elijah was already on his way to the Forbidden Forest, his new personal paradise.
The Thunderclaw Falcon cawed happily on his shoulder, even the Purple Death Cobra stretched out its head from his sleeves also hissing happily.
Elijah had noticed that his tamed beast showed emotions, there was nothing like that mentioned inside the Ancient Beat Taming Art.
He took out a map from his space ring, he checked the direction in which the Forbidden Forest was.
He also took out the Ranger Emblem from the Ranger Guild, attaching it to his chest. It would keep the lowlifes away from him.
He was currently residing in one of the biggest border cities named Clearforest City, that had branches from all three guilds.
Elijah had visited the Ranger Guild and took a common mission.
The Rangers often acted as scouts to check the Forbidden Forest, they would use their own beast to detect unusual movement inside the Forbidden Forest and report it back to the guild.
It was thanks to the Rangers that the two empires and the dynasty would be notified fast enough if a beast tide was coming.
The Hunters catched and killed as many beast as they could, that was how they made their living. They moved in groups to hunt, Rangers instead moved alone with their beast.
That was also one of the reasons why he became a Ranger, he had too many secrets and didn't want others to find out. It was also common sense that Hunters were often backstabbers as long the profit was high enough.
The Master Guild was for people who walked on another path. Blacksmiths, Array Masters, Alchemist, Merchants and other professions than Warriors joined the Master Guild.
The Master Guild was the most influential from the three guilds despite being the weakest.
One could imagine what would happen to someone or a clan if they offended the Master Guild. No more weapons, pills, artefacts and other essential stuff, they could end a clan with just one word.
Elijah planned at a later date to join the Master Guild as a Blacksmith. He wouldn't be a Core Member but just being part of it would give him many benefits.
The Thunderclaw Falcon flapped its wings, soaring up in the air. It sounded kind of cute when it cawed. The Purple Death Cobra slithered its way up to Elijah's head, it hissed happy at the falcon above them.
Elijah laughed at the two, "What's up with you two?"
He didn't know that the two souls of his tamed beast were happy because they had started to absorb part of the rainbow colored mana inside his Soul Space.
The little black panther just ignored them, it kept absorbing the rainbow mana nonstop.
It took him a half day until he reached the last checkpoint before the Forbidden Forest.
The Soldiers stationed on the walls greeted him warmly with soft eyes when they saw the Emblem from the Ranger Guild on his chest. Elijah understood their behavior, the Rangers put their lives on the line when they entered the Forbidden Forest to find clues about beast tides.
That's why the Rangers were regarded very highly here at the border.
The Soldiers opened the gate for him and wished him all luck possible.
Elijah was somewhat touched by them and gave them a confident thumb up.
He didn't walked for long when he stopped.
Elijah opened his eyes wide, he was till somewhat far but he could already see the trees in the horizon.
The walked again towards the forest for another 30 minutes.
His eyes opened wider and he gasped.
"Oh my god!"
In front of him were massive trees, like really massive. Elijah wouldn't refute if someone said that these trees pierced the sky. They were even more imposing than the skyscrapers back in Earth.
'So this is the Forbidden Forest that covers probably 80% of the whole continent...' Thought Elijah impressed.
His falcon cawed excited, even the cobra hissed a lot.
Elijah looked carefully around, checking if he was really alone.
He was really curious, the Forbidden Forest sure looked impressive but it wasn't scary, he wanted at least once to take a good look at it.
His two pale grey eyes changed into bright silver colored draconic eyes.
His eyes widened as much possible, the view in front of him was simply breathtaking.
He knew that the world around him was filled with rainbow colored mana but the amount of mana inside and around the Forbidden Forest couldn't be compared. It was like comparing a pond with a huge lake. The rainbow mana concentration was many times stronger and larger than in the Evergreen Empire.
Elijah stopped pouring his Soul Flux into his eyes and they changed back into their pale grey color without luster.
He sighed deeply in wonder, "This place is paradise."
