Elijah moved through the roofs of Clearforest City like a ghost. It was in the middle of the night and most people were either asleep or drinking in inns with their friends.
Elijah moved carefully in the darkness, using his Ghost Steps until he arrived in front of a run-down house. He was wearing his usual clothes he used when he acted as an Assassin for the Blood Pact League. He had found clues only member of the Blood Pact League could notice, that's how he found out about the branch inside Clearforest City.
One can say many bad things about this Blod Pact League but they deserved their reputation as one of the two hidden evil superpower. They even had a branch here at the border right under the nose of the three guilds.
Elijah pushed open the door, entering the house. He observed the corridor in front of him through his black mask.
He walked to a statue at the left part of the corridor. It was a well sculpted statue of a woman stretching out her hands like she was begging for money. Elijah smiled behind his mask, taking out a silver feather from his space ring and placed it on the hands of the statue.
Strange runes lit up on her eyes and Elijah vanished from where he was standing.
He appeared inside an underground corridor, he wasn't surprised because this wasn't his first rodeo.
Elijah's cloak fluttered behind him when he started to walk along the underground corridor that was light up by crystals.
It took him 5 minutes to arrive at the great hall, he was really surprised to find so many Assassins gathered here. Even the branch in Esmerald City the capital of Evergreen Empire wasn't this flooded.
"Oh? Hi Muerte, even you came here too huh?" Asked a mesmerizing voice from the side.
Elijah found this voice annoyingly familiar and rolled his eyes, turning his head.
'Yeah it's Deathcry...' Thought Elijah annoyed.
The flower boy leaning on a pillar to his right was one, no the oddest person he had ever come across.
He had met him in Esmerald City and regretted it. This flower boy was the one of those Assassins that didn't even bother to hide their identities, Elijah didn't like him but also didn't dare to underestimate him, Deathcry was after all an Gold Rank Assassin who had killed god knows how many people.
"Still silent as ever huh? You are so adorable ahhhhh!" Deathcry hugged himself while licking his lips lewdly. He eyed Elijah's body like a horny wolf.
Elijah's fingers itched hard it took him a great deal of self control to hold back the urge to use his newly forged sword on Deathcry, he knew he would die the moment he attacked him. The killing intent Deathcry emitted was also the most brutal he had ever seen.
Elijah ignored that perverted lunatic and walked towards the Mission Board.
The crowd of Assassins were all staring at the same black note.
It was the first time for Elijah to see such a peculiar note.
"Black Rated Mission, all Rank Assassins are allowed to take part, more information will follow."
'Strange...' Thought Elijah.
"They will soon tell us what this Black Rated Mission is all about, but I guess that they found an Ancient Realm inside the Forbidden Forest. This is my second time participating in such a mission. Many will die...but the lucky survivors will make a fortune, wealth, power and sometimes more..." Spoke Deathcry to Elijah in a serious tone. Elijah looked at him, the flower boy wearing a white robe was waving his razor sharp fan made of knives like a young master.
Elijah's eyes lit up, 'So that's how it is, no wonder that so many Assassins have gathered here.'
More and more Assassins arrived at the great hall, filling it up. The great hall was still deadly silent like a graveyard despite the fact that more than 100 Assassins having gathered there.
They waited for more than 4 hours until their attention was drawn towards two old man that had just entered the great hall.
The pressure they gave off was immense.
Elijah had only one thought when he saw them, 'Second Realm Experts!'
The crowd of deadly Assassins split into two, letting the two old man walk towards the counter where another old man who had been through all the time sleeping. The old man finally opened his eyes with a sleepy expression.
The three of them nodded silently at each other.
The sleepy old man sitting behind the counter stood up started to speak, "I thank you all for coming, Bronze, Silver and Gold Ranked Assassin's...It doesn't matter what rank you are. You all are free to take part in the Black Rated Missions. I won't beat around the bush, our sources have confirmed that the Gold Clan from the Lionheart Dynasty had stumbled upon an Ancient Realm inside the Forbidden Forest. The reason why they were there in the first place is related to the recent posted Blood Rated Mission that only Gold Ranked Assassins or higher have access to.
Various forces across the continent have already dispatched their teams towards the Ancient Realm and we won't stay out of such a grand event. Everyone that wants to participate can come now to me to note down your ranks and codenames."
The crowd made entirely of Assassins formed silently a line and they wrote down their ranks and codenames. It went very smoothly.
"Good, now that we have that behind us, it's time to introduce ourselves. My code name is Silent Dream, the mister to my right is Nightsky and the one to my left is Reaper, we three will be in charge of this mission. Any questions?"
It was the first time that the other Assassins reacted, some exclaimed shocked, some cried out in shock and some others just sighed in admiration.
Elijah found it very odd, 'Are those three some bigshots? It's strange watching a crowd of Assassins acting like fangirls...'
The old man with a sleepy expression smiled faintly, "It seems that no one has any questions, good then let's head out."
