He pulled out smoothly and drove out of the parking lot of the high-rise buildings that held Tobias's fancy loft. It was a great place; still only one of his many properties. I think he had bought this one specifically for the parties. No one can complain of the noise since he owned the building and the four other towers.
I watched the world buzz past in a beautiful stream of lights glowing softly through the tinted windows. It was so pretty at night, the city lit up like a whole other world. One you could pretend for a moment held magic. That life didn't have to be that terrible.
"What are you thinking?" He glanced at me his face curious as if he really couldn't imagine.
"Magic, Love, Life, that maybe the world isn't so black and white. Sometimes I feel as if life throws me a million curve balls and I could just curl up on the couch and ignore the world. Then there's these moments… the ones where I am not sure where I am going where I will end up who I could be? I feel like a thousand possibilities just lay waiting for me to choose one. The magic of the lights and the stars in the thousands not one alike. I feel like sometimes those are my possibilities, it makes me feel fresh and alive. I know it's silly but it's a different kind of magic I think, the magic of possibilities." I looked over at him and couldn't help but giggle. "Don't look so shocked.. so what I am a grown woman who believes in magic, self-magic so what it's no less believable then your mythology story from earlier."
"No I suppose it isn't but it's more of the fact that I didn't think you were that type of girl."
"Oh and what kind did I strike you as." I asked calmly trying not to get aggravated with him.
"A girl who believed in love." He replied.
"I think believing in love is the same as believing in magic. Do you not believe in love then?"
"I do, I believe it is something you encounter once. Then once it lets you go it's gone and you have lost it forever." He responded quietly, his voice so low I could barely hear. He turned his head to look at me and I realized our faces were inches away from each other.
Without noticing it, I had leaned in forward to hear what he had to say. I gulped and he turned his face back to the road. I leaned back my heart thumping at full speed.
