Chapter 15 - I Beg To Differ

He reached towards me and I watched him with the eyes of someone completely trusting as his large hands came towards my neck slowly.

He could strangle you to death right here and no one would hear your screams. After all you don't know what kind of a man he is yet. Still you do not flinch or deny him the ability to be so close. I kicked myself mentally for my mind going to such an awful place. He is a gentleman.

I felt the folds of fabric that had been wrapping me in warmth disappear from around my shoulders and I almost shot myself for my forgetfulness. I had been wearing his suit jacket all night.

"Thank you very much for letting me borrow that all night. I forgot I was wearing it or I would have returned it already." I tilted my head down so he could pull it off me fully and around to his side without hitting me in the head. He smiled at me.

"I know, I kinda figured. I am glad it got some good use out of it tonight. I think it looked better on you anyways.

"I doubt, anything, anything at all that belongs to you could look better on anyone else." I blurted before thinking.

"I beg to differ my lady. However, I would love to continue this conversation some other time. For now I will bid you a goodbye and good day. Since the sun is already awake and we have not yet gone to sleep I cannot say goodnight. He bent forward and gave me a final kiss on my hand then turned and walked away and for the second time tonight I found myself watching him disappear and wishing I had asked him to stay.

How do I keep doing things like letting guys slip through my fingers like that. I went inside the building and up the stairs to my floor. My heels made no sound on the lush carpet of the halls and I could hear soft music whispering out from the apartment across from ours.

The soft Hindu music was delightful along with the faint aroma of the incense Lalitesh had been burning for his prayers. He was a gentle man very soft spoken and kind. He had made many dinners for Cassie and I whenever he would notice we had left to early or gotten home too late to have had anything for ourselves.

I felt so bad for him he was such a kind soul it was sad that he had no one left here that could come and visit him. I turned to my door with a smile on my face from my memories. A small note hung on the outside taped to the door neatly and in a not so neat fashion a male tie hung on the doorknob as a warning.

I rolled my eyes grabbed the note and the tie and unlocked the door to the apartment. The dark hit me like a brick and it took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the rash dimness compared to the bright of the fully lit hallway.

I stepped out of my heels with a soft moan and stopped to listen for any sounds of animals in heat coming from Cassie's room. When nothing accosted my ears but silence I continued to tiptoe into my bedroom and close the door.

I jumped onto my large oversized bed and its silky smooth white satin duvet. The soft cloud that enveloped my bodies weight made me sigh in ecstasy. Such a lovely piece of indulgence. I turned on the bedside lamp with a clap and opened the note.

You girls were gone all night and I am sure Miss Cassie will be having a bad hangover in the morning. I will stop by with some incense for that and a nice breakfast for you two. Have a good morning I will be by at around by 9am. Lalitesh

I giggled well he does know us very well. I thought. It took me a moment to get undressed and I heaved a sigh of relief as the sheath of red that had been my dress fell to the floor in a circle of red cloth. I stepped out of it along with my underwear and crawled into the oversized bed. With another clap, I turned off the bedside lamp and let the darkness and the comfort sink into my bones.

The covers on my bare skin were cool at first. They slowly warmed from my heat and in a few moments, I could barely keep my eyes open. I fought the drowsy sleep that hung on my eyelids with a vengeance so I could spend a few moments processing what had happened tonight.
