"I...wish you were actually here..."
And with those words, everything starts changing. She begins to fade away in a cloud of dust, then everything is back to reality. The reality I'm used to. Corpses, swords, arrows, holes in walls, the whole lot.
"Right...The Ruins of Chaos...home sweet home, I guess."
At least, it's the closest thing to 'home' I can get. For you see, I'm hated everywhere. I have been deemed the dreaded Destroyer whose mind is only filled with thoughts of destroying all life by the Knights of the Holy Order, whose words are taken as law by every living creature in this twisted universe.
A sudden noise disturbs the silence. The sound of a door getting kicked echoes throughout the castle walls.
"WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" a man shouts from the other side of my door.
I swiftly open the door to see the cause of this disturbance.
"I know you're there too. Ever heard of knocking?" I tell the man sarcastically.
"EITHER SURRENDER OR DIE WHERE YOU STAND!" the man exclaims as his and his group's blades point towards me.
Just my luck, another batch of nobodies thinking they can kill me, they're definitely after either the bounty on my head, bragging rights, or both.
"I'm right in front of you, you don't need to shout." I roll my eyes, "Besides, as if you have any chance of taking me on. So why don't you just go home before this escalates any further?" I try to open my door when I feel a sharp pain in my back. Did- did they just stab me in the back?
"DON'T YOU DARE MOCK US!" they shout as they point their swords at me again.
"I'm giving you one last chance to leave. This is your final warning," I point at one of their swords and erase it. It seems they don't get it as they begin charging at me. I cut them off by wiping them off the face of the universe. One snap of my fingers. Just like that, all of them are erased from existence. Guess now you know why the Holy Order hates me, huh?
This always happens: people come to kill me, they get erased, everyone hates me more, then the cycle repeats itself. Well, it doesn't always happen; there are some who survived an encounter with me, some who are too powerful to be erased, at least not easily.
"Valdus?" a voice echoes in my head like thunder.
"NO!" I shout in pain as I feel myself lose my balance and fall to the floor.
"How can I fall like this? I am the Great Destroyer! I'm too strong to fall here!" I tell myself as I get my feet under me and slowly make my way to my broken throne; seems to be the only place I can rest in. I let my head hang from my shoulders and let my body slip into slumber with one thought in my head.
"I guess there is no escaping it..."

Whilst training the blade, I was disturbed by a knock on my door.
"Commander Silvia, I bring news." the man tells me.
"Good or bad?"
"A piece for both."
"Give me the bad news first." I always want to start with bad news. That way, the good news can lift my spirits.
"As you wish, ma'am," he reaches into his bag and pulls out a piece of paper, "A report came in that multiple persons have disappeared. It seems the Destroyer has erased another group. The group consisted of roughly 20 members."
I stand there, baffled at what the messenger just told me as he hands me the paper. I quickly scan through it to make sure that I wasn't hearing things.
"How do you know that the Destroyer did it?" I asked him as I panicked.
"Our scanners picked up a decrease in matter around the Ruins of Chaos."
"What were they thinking? The Destroyer is someone no one can take down!"
"I am under the presumption that they were over-confident."
"How? We Holy Knights have some of the strongest weaponry in the universe! We barely did anything to him!"
"Our investigators found that they acquired the strongest weapons available."
"Still...that wouldn't be enough...just lives lost for a hopeless cause..."
He seems unstoppable when you think that the best warriors of all races fought with him, and very little survive. No, you can't even call it a fight. They just get...erased.
"Would you want to hear the good news, ma'am?"
"Of course." I completely forgot he had good news too, I could use something to lift my spirit right about now.
"It seems as though the Destroyer has gone dormant as there is an increase in the rate of Creation in the immediate area of the Ruins of Chaos."
"That's new..." Him? Dormant? Is it true? It can't be, "Leave me to my peace, thank you for bringing the information."
"I am merely doing my duty, ma'am," he says as he exits.
As the door closes behind him, I pick up my blade, thinking of all that the Destroyer has done. I'm not strong enough to take him on. Even with the strongest of the Holy Order's Army, we couldn't win. The worst part is, he didn't even move a millimetre from where he stood...
"I need to get stronger! I must end the destruction he's caused!" I motivate myself to train.
"Silvia?" as that voice echoes in my head, I lose grip of my blade and fall on my knees. I can feel tears of sorrow moving down my face. I can't stop thinking of who he used to be...
"What happened to you...I thought we were supposed to get rid of all evil...You have become what you've sworn to destroy...for that, I must end you..."
After a few moments, I attempt to regain control over my emotions.
"Silvia, you're the Commander of the Army of the Holy Order, you've come so far from being a girl found in the forest. You shouldn't be like this. Duty comes first. You must protect the people. Protect Life." I say to myself as I regain my balance and grip of my blade.
"I should go back to training." I wipe the tears off my face and aim my blade at the training dummy in front of me.
"Silvia?" the voice comes back.
"STOP!" A surge of pain is felt across my body. I guess there is no escaping it...
