Chapter 18 - Independent

Now that I'm back in Singapore, I wanted to do it by myself. I do not want to rely on Nurhan's power. Nurhan had already changed the owner of my business to my name.

When I tried to ask him the cost that he had to pay when Ridhwan sold my business off, Nurhan only wanted me to fulfill my revenge successfully. Nurhan even gave me one of his cars.

With a new spirit, Waiza drove me with a white Volkswagen Arteon coupe to my one and only boutique in Orchard.

I stared at my old employees that were just ensuring that my shawls were neatly hang. I exhaled in relief. Thankfully, Ridhwan did not fire anyone. Waiza opened the back door for me and I stepped out with confidence.

I had my hair tied up in a Khaleesi inspired twist and wore a red wine V-neck flare sleeves dress, lace openwork inserts waist tie mini dress that was just above knee length with a black ingrid sunglasses that was squared design and acetate metal frame.

Waiza followed me behind as I entered the boutique. All my employees looked at me since I was the only 'customer'. I was very sure that they thought that I was someone important as Waiza was right behind me with her typical black top and pants, bodyguard vibe.

"Welcome, ma'am!" All the employees bowed to me in respect.

As they bowed, I took the chance to browse my shawls. No one wants to buy them. At least.. For now.

I walked to the payment counter. "From now on, I will be in-charge of this boutique. We're gonna revamp the boutique from A to Z, starting with a new label."

"Who are you?" The employee that was standing at the payment counter asked politely.

I simpered as I took my sunglasses off. "Long time no see. Hasn't it been months since I died?"

The employee squeezed her eyes and stared at me. She gave a confused look. After exactly 15 seconds, she gasped in shock. "Tasha?! Is that you?!"

All my employees came and gave me a big hug. Waiza could only step aside and look out for me. After the 'reunion' and telling them the whole story about Ridhwan and Nurul, I decided to have a meeting with all of them.

"Before I start, I would like to thank all of you for staying loyal to me." I bowed. "I'll make sure that by the end of this year, I would bring all of you for a vacation and a long deserved break."

All the employees gave a big clap. I did not have many employees. There were only six of them and all of them were women.

I browsed through all the sales report and others. "We're going to rebrand ourselves as Purnama. Once the sales hits the target, I'm going to move all of you to the office and employ new employees to be assigned to the outlets."

"But how can we achieve the target?" Ulfah, the employee that stood at the payment counter asked.

I closed the report files and started to point the new designed pin on the screen through the powerpoint slides. "We're going to collaborate with Pearl's X. Pearl's X is going to launch a new pin in the shape of a crescent moon. That's where we come in as our new collection will be called Bulan Sabit."

All my employees nodded as they absorbed the information. On the other hand, Waiza was busy jotting down notes on her iPad.

"We're going to burn all these old designs of shawls. The Bulan Sabit will be our first debut collection. We're going for the exclusive, no more being affordable. That's how the market works." I paced around the meeting room.

With both of my hands placed behind as I walked, I glanced at everyone's expression. It looked like everyone is accepting the new idea. "There are four available colours for Bulan Sabit; deep ruby, medium salmon, deep amber and pale gold. Each of these shawls will cost about SGD $200. The designed pins will cost about SGD $100. So far… Any questions?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"Very well then," I smiled smugly. "Let's get started."
