I took a seat beside Nurin in the meeting room while Waiza stood up near the closed door. Luckily, My one and only boutique was big enough to include a meeting room that was almost sufficient to fit around 15 people and a small photoshoot area for our shawls.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, Nurin." I held my hand out for a handshake. "I'm Natasha, the CEO of Purnama. You can call me Miss Shasha."
Nurin's beauty was more than words. If I could describe it, I would say as if she had never had any skin damaged or even pimples on her for her whole life!
Our handshake was firm, yet comfortable. I scanned Nurin's appearance. She wore a navy blue cross front off shoulder jumpsuit with a red leather ankle-cuff heels. Her long shoulder length black hair gave off a rare Asian vibe, like a gem that needs to be discovered.
"Have you read your contract?" I did not smile. How should I say this? Hmm, yes! I gave a resting bitch face, but I was polite.
Nurin nodded. "Miss Shasha, it's been almost two years since I've appeared in the media. Do you think that I'm still relevant?"
I cleared my throat. "Seems like you're worried. Maybe.. About a model named Nurul?"
Nurin nodded again.
I leaned back and crossed my legs. "I'm looking for talent, Miss Nurin. I've looked through your shots in your profile, and I must say that you are the model that I've been waiting."
Nurin exhaled heavily. I caressed my hair gently. "Don't worry about the society, Nurin. Let me handle them."
I crossed my arms and placed them on the table. I pulled my chair forward using my body. "Your job is to execute my collections well. Do well and you could be where you dream off just like where you used to be."
"Thank you for believing in me. Ever since Miss Nurul made the cover for Magazine V, I was pushed aside," Nurin's head was down and so was her voice.
I patted Nurin's shoulder twice before leaving the meeting room. "Not for long."
Waiza opened the door for me and followed me gracefully from behind. I put on my sunglasses and exited the boutique.
"Let me know once Nurin agrees with the contract and get the photoshoot on stand by," I walked to my car as if I catwalk on a runway. "Tell Ulfah to email me the theme for the photoshoot as well."
Waiza nodded and replied confidently. "Yes, ma'am."
