Chapter 5 - The shock

Thursday 13th April: 1723: 5:00 AM

What was that dream? Was that a warning? Or just a nightmare? I didn't know, maybe it's just a way the mind is telling me that we will meet tough challenges. Anyway we have come prepared, we have plenty of food, drinks and clothes. We even brought lanterns, Tim brought up the idea of lanterns since we couldn't make a good fire and they could be used for warmth, light and even chase off any wild animals that would want to attack us. We also have tents, which we are all hoping that will stand and won't get struck by the wind.

Silently, I went out of bed and walked towards the door. I was trying to be silent because there could be some of the crew still sleeping. We have stopped at a nearby dock and rested there, I'm not like other captains, there are some that are selfish and harsh that will make there crew work day and night, but I'm different, I know that we are all human and humans need rest. If we do not rest we wouldn't be able to concentrate and things could go terribly wrong. Anyway we have plenty of time, we aren't in a hurry.

Creakily, the door to the crews cabin creaked open. I turned to the old, dark brown, wooden door and saw Robert wall out. He stepped towards me and silently said "The crew is waking up now, we should be ready to set of at sunrise." I looked at him and said, "thank you Robert, you truly are a great and wise sailer." Robert nodded his head in respect.

Quickly, Robert went to the side of the ship and held onto a rope and carefully stepped to the edge and jumped onto the dock. He then called out, "I'm going to get some more supplies, I have some shillings that will be enough to get more stuff." I then nodded and watched him walk off into the village.
