Chapter 10 - Vocation revealed

I felt groggy as I started opening my eyes and remembering that I was still within the hospital with Prim besides me. Looking over she was still heavily sleeping while her crimson hair neatly put up into a ponytail. Although we're both being discharged today I can't say that the hospital is the worst place to be, at least if your not terminally sick or injured.

Before I could get any farther with my thoughts the Doctor entered the room with 2 nurses, both holding a plain set of clothes.

"You are officially discharged from the hospital, I look forward to hopefully not seeing you end up in critical states anymore."

With that, he quickly walked out of the room to attend the other patients and the nurses set the clothes for Prim and I down and Left.

"Prim, It's time to go, come on."

"I'm up, i'm up, kind of them to leave some clothes, glad I don't have to walk with my ass out."

Taking the simple white shirt along with black underwear and pants, we both began changing separated by a thin medical curtain. Her slim figure and small but plump breast along with her rear silhouette could be seen through the curtain and I couldn't help but let my imagination run a little.

Before any *cough* unfortunate accident happened I quickly looked away and finished changing my clothes.

"Master, I have the slight scent of something off, but I can't exactly pinpoint what it is. It seems to be coming off of Prim."

"Something wrong? She has been recently injured, maybe that's why Owslo?"

"Yes, maybe that's why, my apologies master, I did not mean to worry you."

Before any look of concern was seen across my face the doctor came in and began speaking to Prim about her health. I wasn't able to hear them since the curtains are imbued with runes that dampen noise so the other patients aren't heard by the other patients at night.

In the silhouette I managed to catch a glimpse of a pill bottle being handed to her, but assumed it was nothing more than pain medication since she is still injured. Opening the curtains and facing Prim, It was time to finally discover or select my class and buy some gear.

Waking through the hospital for the first time it was a lot gloomier than I had realized while being cooped up in that room. It seems we were close to those who were severely injured. Before clearing the area a patient called out to me as I was passing by.

"Accursed demon and all your kin, you'll all rot six feet under while my wife punishes you"

"How dare you, You don't know-"

"Don't worry Prim, Is nothing new, discrimination will always have a place within this world and the next."

"Your cursed child, Cursed!"

Brushing it out as nothing more than the rambling of someone on their death bed I quickly walked out expecting sunlight and fair weather but instead got rain and darkened clouds. buying two umbrellas from within the hospital we began heading towards the vocation office. walking through the rain where the city of Ranstor was draped in grey, I couldn't help but notice how much Prims hair made her stand out. It looked like a dancing flame in the middle of a colorless field.

"Why reside within Ranstor? Or were you born here?" -Elias

"Yes, actually, I've always wanted to leave though, just haven't exactly had the best of luck with that." -Prim

"Fair enough, but what made you want to become a monster hunter?" -Elias

"I don't want to be rude but its a bit of a personal tale." -Prim

"It's no issue, We all have our history."

As I looked away from Prim I was surprised to see that we had finally arrived at vocation office. As we walked in there was a plethora of different people wanting to find out their class despite the gloomy weather.

"Hello, I'm guessing your both here to find out your class, we can check both of yours at once since our last class inspector is in." -Attendant

"Oh, no thank you, it'll just be me alone, she has already checked her class." -Elias

"Very well, right this way sir" -Attendant

following the attendant through this rustic guild hall I couldn't help but notice how the energy in the room felt, almost suffocating. As we reached a door at the end of the hall made from wood and reinforced with steel, she pressed her palm toward the door and six runes lit up and the door opened up from the center and became double doors. Sitting inside with a toothpick in his mouth sat a man dressed with a dark midnight blue rob, with white gloves and slim rimmed glasses. His eyes were a light yellow with grey, an ovalish head and jet black hair down to his shoulders.

"So a class lookup huh, simple enough, that shall 1 silver then." -Class inspector

"Alrighty, so what do you need me to do?"

handing the silver coin towards the attendant, she promptly left the room, leaving me the inspector and Prim alone.

"Okay, shirt off and lay down on your stomach."

As I took my simple white T shirt off I could help but notice Prim staring at my body through the corner of my eye. But anyone would stare with the amount of scars surrounding my body so I didn't think much of it. The inspector came over and began channeling mana through his hands until they glowed a soft blue. His hands only hovered above me but it felt like he was writing something on me. Until eventually he pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me. As I looked down I was in somewhat of a shock, My class was perfect.

"Well don't keep me in suspense, what is your class?" -Prim

"I'm a Magic knight, holy shit, I can't believe it!" -Elias

"That's Amazing, and know we know what equipment and jobs we can take on" -Prim

"Thank you Inspector, we should be on our way."

"Hold it, before you go, you should know that you ha-" -Inspector

"It's quite alright, I already know, but thank you regardless."

Leaving Prim with a confused expression, I said my goodbye and pulled Prim along, I couldn't wait discover my first skill and fight something.
