Walking out of the inspector's office we noticed a couple postings for hunts on a board within the main hall. But before taking on any quest I wanted to make sure that we take of clothes and equipment. So our first stop would be the Blacksmith.
"Hey Prim, what kind of Armor do you prefer to use? The hospital didn't hand you any damaged armor so do you not use any?" -Elias
"Ahhh, yeah, I was out on that hunt to purchase some so I don't really know what feels the best."-Prim
"Well, we can always find out whenever we arrive." - Elias
After a short trip a couple blocks away from the vocation office, in its small grandeur stood the blacksmith shop. Immediately the smell of fire and metals hit my nostrils along the sounds of clashing metal. As I opened the door a small bell up top rang and the pounding hammer stopped And and a deep voice filled the room.
"Welcome to Gram's Shop, I got anything from leather to steel." -Blacksmith
"Pleasure, we're here for some armor and weapons, and anything interesting that might catch our eyes." -Elias
"Well then right this way, right over on the front left, there's leather and reinforced leather armor, back left there is iron and steel armor and the right is weapons, startin' from daggers all the way to War-hammers. Like anything in Particular?" -Blacksmith
"I'm looking for a knight armor set that's on the lighter side along with a bow and great-sword. And my friend is looking to try some armors along with some weapons of her choice." Suddenly I remembered about sub classes and how useful they could be, especially in situations like these. The highest amount of sub classes one could take is 5 and the only way to obtain them is from other people who have that class. Realizing the golden opportunity presented before me I asked the Blacksmith "What would it take for you to bless me with your subclass?"
Looking a bit stunned at first the Blacksmith pondered for a second and responded, "Give me 5 quartz coins and yer got yourself a deal young lad."- Blacksmith
The trade seemed a bit to steep but being able to craft both me and Prim armor seemed like a far better idea than buying it.
"Here you go, 5 quarts coins" -Elias
The blacksmith came over and reached for a handshake but instead of reaching for my hand he grasped my forearm and told me to do the same. A bluish hue started to glow from his hand and smoke began rising from his palm, yet I felt no pain, just a water like sensation. As soon as he let go I realized I had obtained another tattoo, A charcoal black Anvil with the imprint of a Dragon on it. Suddenly the tattoo began to fade until it disappeared from my arm completely.
"Why did that happen? Am I not compatible with the subclass?" -Elias
"No young lad, not at all, the subclass tattoo only appears on your skin whenever you start your smithy work or when you call upon it. Remember, the more you work with metals, leathers and anything else that is considered smithy work the higher its level will rise, allowing you to create even better creations and unique ones as well." -Blacksmith
Prim was a bit confused about the entire ordeal but understood the basic principles of what just happened. Smiling at her briefly I resumed looking for my weapons and armor. My eyes fell upon a black scale armor set that had no helm but was the lightest one on display. As I turned around to show Prim it seems she found a darkish red leather armor set with chain mail covering whatever the leather did not. It was form fitting as well as flexible giving her free motion rain.
"Well, it seems you've chosen something that falls within your liking, now for some weapons." -Elias
"Well, I have had my eyes on those right there" -Prim
As I traced what she was pointing at I saw some steel twin daggers with with a black handle, something basic but sturdy. She picked them up and tossed them up and down like they were feathers. While she had her fun with that I came over to a great-sword in a pile of what seemed like reject weapons and found one with a a gleaming red edge. it seemed like the best one around but as soon as I lifted it I came to realize why it was there in the first place, it seemed impossibly heavy to ever wield in battle. But for one reason or another I felt a small attraction to it. I carried it to the counter and walked over and realized that my old bow could use some fixing and it would still work.
"Oh young lad, I don't recommend this one, Its far too heavy and its been brought back by every client for various reason." -Smithy
"I came to realize that but I'll still be willing to take it off your hands."
"Suit yourself, Both armor sets and her dagger will be 10 quarts coins and I'll give you that sword fer free since it was gonna get scrapped anyhow."-Blacksmith
"You got yourself a deal, take care and thank you for everything."- Elias
Leaving the Blacksmith I already knew what we had to do next, figure out our fighting formation and how our fighting will change now that we have armor.
"Hey, shouldn't we select a hunting job now? I grabbed this posting to eliminate some goblin at Ren's farm." -Prim
"That sounds perfect, we should be able to adjust our fighting styles to each other."-Elias
With a goal set in mind I started heading home and was excited to see that the the city was able to finish rebuilding my apartment.
"Welcome to my apartment and your new place to crash." -Elias
"It looks amazing, but then again, anything beats sleeping in an alley way."
"That's true, i'll cook us something and you can go set up your room, we don't have daylight left so we can shop for some clothes tomorrow, I have three pairs of clothes that seem like they'll fit you." -Elias
"That sounds great, if you don't mind, i really want to take a shower, for ummm, personal reasons." -Prim
As the moon began to rise and bathe the apartment in its glow, yet another day was over with.
