"YINGXUE!!" "YINGXUE!!" "YINGXUE!!"
"Sound check complete! We're live in five!" a young man with dark and silver highlighted hair yelled into his ear piece, on his also silver shirt were the words 'Technical Department, Acting Head'. Backstage was in a state of alert, with the crew manning their stations accordingly. Many could feel the tension building yet not a single person panicked. They were ready.
As if on cue, the girl that made this all possible strided in from the VIP hallway. Everyone directed their gazes towards her.
Yingxue looked throughout the entire area with a calm smile on her face, almost meeting the gaze of every single person there.
She gave a small bow to show her appreciation to the crew present, fully understanding that none of this would have been possible without the cooperation of hundreds, if not thousands of employees. She stood back up straight and smiled happily.
"Let's make tonight, and all the nights to follow, the best nights of our lives! Together!!" she exclaimed passionately with her fist pumped into the air, her mouth exposing her teeth in a big confident grin.
"TOGETHER!!" everyone echoed loudly. Newcomers would probably be surprised by the scene. What artist would take the time to motivate and give their appreciation before a big show to ordinary crewman such as themselves?
Yingxue would.
The crew continued with various words of praise and encouragement to Yingxue which she accepted heartily. They couldn't help but love her.
"2 minutes!" the silver haired man reminded everyone again.
Everyone went back to their work stations and did their best to stop disturbing Yingxue from getting set up at the small platform beneath the stage. Only the 'Acting Head' walked straight towards her, microphone in hand.
"Good luck out there, Yingxue," he grinned and passed her the microphone.
"Thanks.. Rouhe," she smirked at him in return. Rong Rouhe, her friend and senior she had just hung out with hours before.
She took the microphone, gripping it in her hand and concentrated on the crowd chanting her name.
"YINGXUE!!" "YINGXUE!!" "YINGXUE!!"
Slowly the platform she stood on started to rise upwards, the roaring chants getting increasingly louder and louder in her ears as the glaring lights blinded her momentarily. The moment she appeared, all the cameras zoomed into her silhouette within the smoke, the crowd going wild in hysteria.
Yingxue smiled at the crowd's reaction. Without wasting any time, she put the mic against her lips.
"Shhhhhhh.."
As if sedated, the audience grew quiet and became tranquil to the sound of her voice.
"Heh," she missed this. She loved her fans and they loved her.
The music to her opening ballad 'New Beginning' began playing in the background, officially initiating the start of her concert.
"I try to hold.. my breath.."
.....
Slowly swirling the iced tea in his glass, his eyes remained glued to the figure singing her heart out in the TV screen in front of him. The concert was ending soon, with only a few songs remaining. He remained quiet the entire time, his expression unreadable.
Suddenly, BANG. The door slammed open.
"LI XIAO TIAN! HOW DARE YOU BAIL ON ME LIKE THAT!" a woman's voice raged from the door.
The man ignored her and continued watching the screen, slowly sipping his tea.
Holding in her anger from rising any further, she stomped her way to his location to see him watching Yingxue on the television.
"You could have just watched her from backstage after the meeting," she complained with her hands placed on her hips.
"I want to see what her fans see," he answered indifferently.
"Then from below the stage!"
"Too many sweaty people."
"The VIP section!"
"Too lazy."
An anger mark visibly appeared onto Meilin's forehead.

Seeing as there was no way to reason with the man, she plopped onto the sofa next to him, fuming. Instead of brooding over spoilt milk, she turned her attention to the girl singing instead, quickly admiring the melodious voice coming out from her.
Yingxue extremely impressed her today. She was expecting a young and innocent naΓ―ve girl drunk on stardom. Even if the girl turned out to be a pretentious brat, persuading her would have been simple.
However, on the contrary, the petite figure turned out to be quite the power lady, taking command of the situation almost immediately before it went out of hand; her charisma and dominance swiftly earning Meilin's respect by the end of it.
Not to mention the young lady had the talent to boot. It was no wonder the North dubbed her a siren or an angel. She controlled the flow of the crowd masterfully, creating total silence or total mayhem with the snap of a finger.
Yingxue had yet to actually branch down South but after meeting her once, Meilin knew that it was only a matter of time.
"What do you think of her?" she asked the man next to her out of curiosity.
"Hmm.. Her voice is good. Looks are good," he answered simply, hardly shifting his gaze. "If there's anything special to note, she has good control in directing her audience. Not much other than that.. She's not a bad choice for a collaboration."
"Is that what you got from this performance?"
"Mhmm."
"Hmph! Li Tian, Qilong and Yingxue were definitely right about you! You have gotten too arrogant!" Meilin declared. After what she had seen today, she could finally think clearly. She stood up before him with a menacing glare and her hands against her hips. "You know what I think?"
Out of surprise towards her words and actions, Li Tian finally faced her. His cousin Meilin was usually always the one on his side.
"Yingxue.. is going to kick your COCKY ASS!!"
