[A/N: For those who have read the first chapter the previous day, I have changed the name of the female lead from Anisha to Alisha. So please don't get confused.]
"Alisha, come over here and look at this question, will you?" In an irritated voice, spoke Nancy who was sitting on the queen size bed of her room with her eyes focused on the numerous books spread out in front of her. She had been calling over her friend for the last fifteen minutes, who refused to look away from her phone or even get up from her place.
"Alisha, are you even listening?" She asked again, putting her pen away this time.
"Just a minute," Alisha answered while her gaze was still fixed on the screen of her phone that displayed the facebook profile picture of a handsome man. The background was of a beach and the man stood in a light blue translucent shirt with his buttons open that revealed his muscular chest.
"You are stalking his profile again, ain't you?" This time Nancy's voice was stern and laced with a bit of anger, like a strict mother.
Alisha immediately locked her phone and placed it in her jeans pocket before getting up from the chair that she had dragged all the way from Nancy's study table to the big window in her room. "I was just looking at his display picture, What is wrong with that?' Alisha asked shamelessly.
"The only thing wrong is that you dated him five years back before he moved to London. It has been Godd*mn five complete years since then!!" Nancy looked at her friend with concern who even now still seemed hopeless when it came to her ex-boyfriend Shivin. "And just to jog up your memory, it was you who initiated to break-up with him. So my dear, have some self-respect and stop thinking about him. He isn't going to come back, darling."
Alisha pressed her lips in a thin line before she parted them again to speak, "Do you think things would have been different if I would not have broken up with him back then?" Her voice was meek, and a tad sad.
Nancy looked at her like she was from a different planet. She couldn't believe that her friend was still stuck on a guy whom she had broken up with 5 years back. "Yes, they would have been.
"Really?" Alisha's brown eyes got wide and round like a doe.
"Yes." She nodded her head and then without even thinking twice, said the following in a manner as blunt as she could, "Sure it would have been different because in that case, you guys would have gotten into a huge fight and then broken up. Simple!"
Alisha's face fell till the floor hearing her words. "Wow, that was so comforting, thanks. Huh."
"You need to forget about him and move on Alisha. It has been five years now."
"It was fine until a few months back when we would talk occasionally. At least I knew how his life was going on. But now he has just disappeared, without leaving any place to contact him. Not being able to contact him makes me want to talk to him even more." While blabbering on her own she suddenly saw the blank look on Nancy's face and asked in a loud voice, "Are you even listening?!"
"Yes of course, just that I am unable to grasp anything." Nancy had been single throughout the span of twenty-one years of her life, with no love opportunities knocking on her door, so she didn't really understand such emotions.
"Forget it," Alisha said rolling her eyes and tucking her hair behind her ear. "You are a nube in this field and very much useless."
"Hey, you can't insult me like this." Nancy protested.
"Well, I just did sweetheart." Alisha used her signature smile that had been responsible for capturing the hearts of many all these years.
