Back again at Uncle Changmin's table, Luna grumpily played with her breakfast while Jihoon mindlessly stirred his coffee.
"Can I go back to work today?" She asked while stabbing the boiled egg with the butter knife.
"We'll see." Changmin muttered.
She dropped the knife loudly, "Its been days already! And you dont understand, it is essential that I go, they need me!"
"Dont worry, I sent in a replacement for you. Your salary wont be deducted."
"No replacement can REALLY replace me! My desserts are becoming customer favourites!" Luna tried not to boast but she could think of no other way to pursuade him.
Min rolled her eyes and shook her head, making Luna feel foolish for saying all that.
She glared at her plate.
It had been like that at every meal, Changmin had driven Jihoon and her straight to his house without listening to a single argument and he made it quite obvious that it was to keep an eye on Luna.
She had actually started to like her new house and the second reason why she didnt want to come here was wearing a floral dress with 5 inch cheetah print heels to breakfast.
Though Min hadn't said anything, she had made it quite obvious that to her Luna was like an out of fashion article of clothing.
"I sent one of our household's own chef's assistant to fill in for you. They may not even want you back later." Changmin joked but Luna definitely didnt seem to get it.
"But theres no need for him to fill in for me! Im completely fine."
"Then maybe you can start with going back to university."
Luna fell silent, she didnt want to go back just yet, heck she didnt want to go there at all and just change universities.
She knew that Haemin wouldn't tell anyone but strangely she wasn't worried about what others might say, she was more attentive to what Haemin might think, and how much he knew, and how he knew at all.
"Okay how about this." Jihoon spoke up, " You can rejoin the cafè AND you go back to uni tomorrow, but on one condition."
Luna wanted to object that she didnt want to go to uni anyway but she let him go on.
"You go see a therapist."
Luna slapped her hands down on the table, "Oh for the last time - " she began fiercely.
"Okay okay you didnt try to k word yourself. But you still need to go." Her uncle intergected.
"I cant believe you just censored the work kill, shes 18 Dad not 5." Jihoon muttered.
"See? Even Jihoon agrees this is ridiculous."
"Sweetie look, I promise this decision isnt because of what happened on Friday. I was already planning on talking to you about this."
Luna folded her arms silently willing him to stop but he continued despite her sour face.
"As if those five years that you had to go through werent enough, my brother and his wife.." he trailed off in disdain.
"Your brother and his wife are my parents, so I'd appreciate it if you didnt estrange me from their mention just yet." Luna spat out bitterly.
Though she believed with every fibre of her being that her parents were just a pair of good for nothing adults and could swear that some people just shouldn't be parents, but just the thought of having a family back home was strangely comforting, they were better than having none.
Maybe they'd come see her at the funeral.
Taken aback by her sudden burst of emotion Changmin failed to save himself so Jihoon came to his rescue.
"What Dad means is that its only normal that you go see a therapist."
Min quietly listened to the exchange and kept coming up with ways to handle people's questions for when they would find out that she is related to a murder convict.
She got anxious when her step son left to live the criminal.
Even more so when Changmin suggested that she go to the therapist with Luna, because she needed 'a motherly figure'.
Min rolled her eyes at the thought. She already had a step kid that was a handful she didnt need another one, a convict at that.
Her nerves were going completely ballistic when Changmin got a call from the Police Station.
If people even caught a whif of this, they'd eat her up alive and spit on her husband's reputation.
Unless...
Right then and there at the table, while Luna fought with Changmin and Jihoon over her limitations, Min's mind worked 120 kilometers per hour and she got an idea;
If she revealed Luna and her doings herself altogether, and explained how Changmin was just sheltering an abandoned relative, they might pity Min and pass it around as her doing charity work by giving an orphaned and rehabiliting teenager a roof.
"Alright everyone calm down. Lets not argue EVERY time we sit at this table." Min announced dramatically.
The surprised three fell silent at her sudden intrusion.
"Luna, mental issues are nothing to be ashamed of." Min began and Luna rolled her eyes.
"And honey," she directed at Changmin, this time Jihoon rolled his eyes.
"I dont think keeping her locked up like a pri- "
"Prisoner?" Luna challenged her.
"Princess." Min completed curtly, "I was going to say princess."
Luna smirked.
"Ofcourse you would say that and obviously your solution is going to be what? Kicking her out again?" Jihoon remarked sarcastically, Luna tensed.
"No, I meant that we should go somewhere together as a family." Min said.
"What?" All three asked in unison, all disbelieving that she just said 'family'
Changmin quickly recovered and beamed at Min, "Where do you suggest we go?"
"How about the dinner party tonight?" Min suggested.
"Oh yeah I was wondering if I could bring you along." Jihoon told Luna.
"No thank you, Im fine at home." She shuddered at the thought of being around more elites.
"Its actually a really good idea sweetie, the family that will be hosting the event even have a bike show planned afterwards for their son, and I know you love bikes." Chnagmin said.
Luna faltered, she did have a special place in her heart for bikes, bike racing, though she had never actually ridden one.
"Thanks but no thanks, I intend on starting Game of Thrones tonight."
Jihoon poked her from the side and leaned in, "Can you please do me a favour and come tonight? I kinda need the support." He whispered.
Luna raised an eyebrow, she was confused but since this was the first time he asked her for anything, she couldnt refuse.
Uncle Changmin brought his hands together, "Its settled then, we're all going. Min, take Luna shopping and buy her the most beautiful dress you can find."
Min smiled, "Dont worry, Ill take very good care of her." She purred.
Luna's face fell at the hint of insincerity in her voice.
She knew Min wouldnt be upto any good but she couldnt figure out what.
Jihoon squeezed her hand, "Dont worry, Ill be there too."
"You'll be like my date."
Luna made a face, "Ew."
"Oh grow up." Jihoon rolled his eyes.
