*DRIIIIIIIING DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING*, "Every time I hear this stupid alarm it feels like it's getting longer and longer, showing nine o'clock."
The sudden realization that he was late finally kicked in, thus triggering frenzy mode. "OH SHIT, MEI I DID IT AGAIN." He cried out trying to vent out all the frustration.
"Calm down Gemei, it's only the start of the second term today, I know that we both lost track of time, however, I definitely know that we are in July."
"Shut the hell up. That doesn't help."
Having had over three years of experience, Gemei knew what to do during this sticky situation. In about fifteen minutes he managed to get ready and was now running to school without any breakfast.
"Time indicates nine-thirty; I think I'll make it before nine-forty-five if I really push it."
After running a mini-marathon, Gemei reached Ashford academy before nine-forty-five, completely out of breath and just before reaching Sophie's literature class, collapsed on the ground without making any sound as his legs finally gave up. He was there, few feet away from the door laying face down on the concrete floor which had been gathering dust. If another person were to pass by him, it'd surely appear like he was dead as shortly upon arrival, due to exhaustion and not eating in the morning finally took its toll on his body.
Slowly regaining consciousness thanks to Mei screaming inside his head, Gemei could hear and feel the vibration of footsteps slowly approaching him. It grew closer and closer, he was desperately trying to open his eyes that seemed to have been locked in place. After finally managing to unlock his eyes simultaneously as the footstep stopped. The first thing he glanced at was dark crimson colored hair which triggered a long lost memory, "It's you from that night." He mumbled to himself which she didn't quite catch.
Gemei was completely mesmerized by this girl, it was the first time he actually felt something while looking at another human being, greenish eyes ending with flakes of gold, gorgeous dark crimson colored hair, pale skin which didn't have any flaws as if it were a refined piece of gem, and to top it all off, rosy-colored cheeks.
She reached out, giving a helping hand to get up, "Thank you very much." Gemei thanked her while trying to get the dust off his clothes.
"No problem, but if I may intrude, why were you laying on the floor?" She inquired curiously.
"Well, it's a bit embarrassing, but I actually fell unconscious upon reaching school." Every time he replied to her, his heart felt like it was going to jump out of his chest. She giggled a bit after hearing his reason and continued with their conversation.
"You may have realized this but I'm actually new to this school. Can you help me find the English literature class?" To his surprise, she was talking about the only class he attended.
"Sure, I'm going there myself."
He led the way while the girl who finally introduced herself as Autumn followed close behind. Just before opening the door into the classroom, he turned around and told her to wait. The dreadful moment was here, Gemei was late and it was Sophie's class. After gathering little courage he had, opened the door.
"Look who decided to show up everybody, it's the one and only Gemei Ashford." The whole class of only five students started to laugh.
"What are you doing there standing in the hallway, come in already."
Meanwhile in the corridor just before entering the class, Autumn was thinking to herself, "This guy, I recognize him, he was the guy who was knocked out bleeding on the street. Didn't think I'd meet him again. Come to think of it, he does seem like a decent guy and not to mention is kind of good-looking, if only he cared about sorting his appearance." After hearing the laughter coming from the classroom, Autumn made her grand entrance which wasn't that grand as the sight of her acquaintance getting told off by the teacher was a bit overwhelming.
After Sophie calmed down, "Go take a seat Gemei, and class this is our new transfer student. Go ahead and introduce yourself, young lady."
"Hello everyone, my name is Autumn Garnet. I loathe social interaction so you better not try and approach me, thank you very much." She acquainted herself using a serious monotonous voice.
Lo and behold, just like clockwork, everybody started whispering amongst themselves,
"She may look cute on the outside but is really a bitch on the inside."
"The nerves on that girl, who does she think she is, some kind of goddess?"
Even Ashford was shocked. After class, rumors of Autumn being a bitch spread throughout the campus like wildfire. She was getting the same treatment as Gemei. Lunch break arrived, Autumn headed to the cafeteria. Mainly the students with higher standings began to harass her, the social hierarchy was in full effect. Being called a bitch with the addition of Jackie who was annoying her physically by pulling her hair, touching her face and even slapping her ass, pathetic really for the student council president.
"These people, is this what normal student life feels like? I wish I could just beat the hell out of them, but guess I have to act helpless thanks to the fucking order given by Captain Koldok."
Gemei walked into the cafeteria expecting to have another bland meal but was taken by surprise from the sight of Autumn getting harassed.
"What should I do, I can't fight them for shit, I'll just end up getting bullied myself. However, I just can't let them treat her how they treat me. I have an idea, Mei if you can hear me, back me up on this, please."
Mei replied with, "Of course I can hear you dumbass, now execute the plan. If I have to kick some ass, I'll happily do it."
He slowly approached Jackie, "Is this how a student president supposed to act I wonder? What if the school finds out about this? I'm dying to know what would happen."
The plan was to blackmail Jackie, however the way he said it was imposing, he definitely meant business.
"Aye, everybody, look what we got here, the most hated person in the whole school trying to help out a fellow bitch, what a joke. What are you going to do, fight me maybe?" Gemei clapped back instantly with, "Well maybe I want to try and beat your ass. Let me tell you what I think about you, the only reason your Student council president is because your uncle is the director. You can't even get good grades and you were born with a silver spoon inside your ass, it's sad that money can't buy you intelligence. Meanwhile, I barely come to school and still do better than the whole lot of you pricks present here, trying to pick on someone who's just recently joined this Academy.I've recently also noticed that you Jackie, and the majority of the student in this establishment think you're cool by reading Top and Bottom, let me tell you a little story, by praising and admiring that book you're actually indirectly praising me because I'm the author of that book. Don't believe me? Check page fifty-five, I've left a clue about my identity. Should be simple to figure out considering you guys are from Ashford Academy but I'm pretty sure you guys are just dumb."
"Wait, Gemei wrote Top and Bottom?" Autumn was in shock as she was a big fan as well.
"Now you have pissed me off Gemei, insulting the genius behind Top and Bottom, I'm going to kick your ass," Jackie replied infuriated.
He dashed towards Gemei in hopes of punching him, "Mei, your turn mate." Jackie was blocked by Mei and got his ass handed to him in less than two minutes, Gemei felt uneasy, it seemed like Mei actually wanted to kill him. Thinking nothing about it he regained control.
*Briiiing* Lunchtime was over; everyone dispersed and headed into their respective classrooms. Some people took Gemei's clue seriously and were trying to figure out if he was the writer behind that masterpiece of a book.
"Who is this guy? He's got good technique when it comes to hand to hand combat." Autumn thought to herself.
