Her back was now exposed, he continued his assault onto her body which laid there facedown all the while laughing furiously. It was like watching a kid popping water balloons, Autumn gave up knowing that she was going to die thus her body relaxed. Gemei felt it, the loss of strength gave him the clue to stopping. He stood up, the cutter in hand, covered with blood dripping from his face, arms, hands. He looked like as if someone had poured a bucket of dark red pain onto him. After gathering what little strength she had, Autumn flipped over and stared at Gemei's bloodied face and into his blank eyes and uttered the words, "I loved you."
Without realizing it, tears starting pouring down his face, time was two pm, the sun was slowly getting covered by rain clouds, as the final ray of light slowly made its way inside the dark classroom, the tears as they slowly fell onto the floor, glistened. Just like a dark crimsoned ruby as it washed away some of the blood covering his cheeks as it began to rain. All the rage began to fade away; he was finally coming to his senses.
Her green emerald eyes slowly had their glimmer fade away, as if someone had covered it with dust; she had cuts all over her body all the while being covered with blood. Her hair was all over the place, with a little bit on my palm. She laid there, completely still with a smile on her face. My first crush, she was…dead. Gemei could not feel anything, he wanted to cry but someone or something was holding him back, instead, he slowly backed away.
While covering his mouth and walking backward, he tripped and fell. Blond hair, which ended with a dark scarlet color from the pool of blood on the ground, it was Sophie, she was still breathing faintly but holding onto her wound, occasionally she would cough, nothing but the blood would come out. Not even a sound, her jaw was sliced opened, the once glorious Sophie Mirabelle was there laying there in a puddle of blood. Her eyes were closed but tears kept pouring down like a tap left open, my one and only family laid there on the ground closing in on…death.
Looking at his hands, all the blood on him slowly drove him into the depths of despair; he had killed the people closest to him. The blood from both Autumn and Sophie joined together and gradually made their way out of the room through his feet which seemed like two rocks in the middle of a river and into the hallway. Gemei was inside breathing heavily and looking frantically for something which didn't exist, "Peace and Quiet." At that moment, a student walked by and saw the blood slowly crawling from the room and into the hallway. Seeing blood, she panicked and ran while screaming towards the office.
Meanwhile, Gemei was still in the room, he knew if he didn't move someone would find him and then it would all be over. "I have to get away, but I can't, but I have to get away, away from what? RUN! RUN!,
Kill-blood-joy, I have to get away, but you can't get away, I need to run, there's no escape, Autumn, she's dead, Sophie, she's dead, help I need to run, help, help... HELP, no DIE DIE DIE! MEIIIIIIIII." Everything went blank.
*Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep*, "Where am I, what's this monotonous sound in the background, it's so annoying. Wait, am I alive? That sound, it's my heart beating, but how is this possible, why can't I talk to anyone, my body won't move, am I really alive? That voice, its Captain Koldok."
"Excuse me Doctor, is she doing any better?"
"Sorry about that Captain, the answer to that query is a bit complicated. When she was first brought here, she was in dire condition. From where I stand, she was practically dead. However, Dragena's technological advances never cease to amaze me. That machine made by the not so sane engineers worked wonders on her physical body, but mentally we have no clue. For all we know she may well be "brain dead".
"I see, thank you very much for your patience doctor."
"Anytime Captain, may you have a safe trip to HQ."
"He's finally gone, Doctor aren't you afraid of him? He's super intimidating and on top of that having a nickname like the Reaper of Souls doesn't make it any better."
"Calm down Johnny, having a name like the Reaper of souls doesn't make you an actual reaper."
"As you wish, Doctor Henrick Gerhard."
"He's not any better either, Henrick Gerhard also known as the necromancer. People say even though he looks innocent on the outside with his glasses, well-combed silky hair accompanied with freckles on his innocent tanned brownish face doesn't hide the fact that on many occasions where people have reportedly been classified as dead came back to life. He's a demon in his own right, what have I gotten myself into." Johnny thought to himself.
The walk from HQ to the medical center wasn't that long but Koldok enjoyed the scenic route which linked both establishments. A narrow path with trees of various species on both side acting as guardians, the subtle breeze which made the leaves sing while the sun desperately tried to get past the barrier created by the natural foliage made it worth it. Further along the path, First Lieutenant Paien Thaddeus was waiting to accompany him back.
"Can't believe such a young and promising assassin was put in a near-death situation by someone we don't know about."
"Paien, you still worry about the mildest of things, aren't you supposed to take care of the new recruits?"
"Well Captain, with one of our member bed ridden accompanied with an empty spot, we can't actually begin any training or briefing. This is due to the fact that Sergeant Autumn may still have a recruit in mind."
"Fair point, but did you notice the injury she sustained on the day she was brought to us? It was horrific, to say the least, it was as if a Syncros attacked her. This is just my speculation, anyway, let's head back."
