After that little mishap in the cafeteria, Gemei was pissed just being at the school. Therefore, he called the lovely Sophie and said that he was skipping the rest of the day.
The worst part was gone, Mirabelle once she began to shout, our hero stopped the call halfway, got his stuff and headed for the front gate.
"Why is he not talking to me, I thought we were acquainted." Autumn wondered as she saw him leaving. "That's why." She finally realized why he didn't try and speak to her, it was because of her prior statement.
"HEY! Wait up; I need to talk to you, Gemei!" He turned around, the face he had was one of someone who'd just died, emotionless.
"Didn't you say you hated social interactions? To be honest with you, I feel the same way." He replied as if talking to her was a pain.
"Well I did say that, only because I hate it when people try and force their friendships upon me, also most of the boys do that just to get me in bed with them."
Gemei did not feel anything, "Should I be feeling sorry for you?"
She responded with, "I did not ask for your sympathy, but I do want to become your friend."
His cold-heartedness towards her slowly melted away, "You really mean that Autumn?" She replied sincerely with, "Yes, will you be my friend Gemei?"
He was gutted, "FRIEND?! Fuck sakes, I just got friend-zoned by a girl I actually kind of like, I hate my life."
He regained his composure and responded with, "You sure you only want to be friends?"
Mei started to go mad inside his head, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, YOU ARE TOO BOLD! Rest in peace the only friend you ever made." To his surprise, Autumn actually blushed, "Well it's not like I'm friend-zoning you Gemei, so chill out."
"AUTUMN! You just blushed," He pointed out as he busted out into laughter. "NO! I'm not, stop you're embarrassing me." She quickly tried to justify herself. So much for a cold-blooded assassin, truth to the matter is that she still a girl. "In that case, I will happily be your friend, let me warn you, I'm not social, I hate everything, and mainly my life. Also, I write pointless stories."
"Works for me, I'm anti-social, don't have any friends but I love my life." Having had that conversation, both Gemei and Autumn were at ease.
"Finally someone who can understand me, would you not say the same, Mei?"
"Gemei Ashford, what a guy, didn't think he was the author of Top and Bottom. But hey, appearances don't actually reflect a person's true self. Look at me for example."
The second semester went by faster than usual. Both Gemei and Autumn became very good friends as he finally had someone to share his writing and discuss ideas about stories with. Fondly enough, said person was actually interested in the stuff he did. Adding Sophie to the mix, Gemei finally had a small group he could now call friends or family. Despite all that, he was still bundled up inside his own world accompanied by pain, suffering, discomfort, and hatred. During that semester, even though Gemei didn't actually notice it, Mei was pissed. He felt left out, ignored and not being of any use. It was then on that rainy Friday evening, everything changed, you could say it was a turning point in his life.
*Driiing Driiiiiing* It was seven o'clock, Gemei practically jumped out of his bed. "I feel so good today, Friday finally came by, the last day of the second semester. I'm all fired up; let's start this day with a bang." The day did literally begin with a bang as he slipped and fell down the stairs which upon the first impact made a "Bang".
"Guess I should have been more careful, isn't it Mei?" He asked himself but with no avail. It was similar to the time when Mei went away after being hit in the head by Jackie. Thinking nothing of it, he continued with the morning rituals and headed straight for school.
After the prior incident with Jackie, Gemei gained a reputation for being a degenerate. He was even more hated by the students despite revealing his identity as the author of Top and Bottom.
Four months had gone by, the deadline for recruiting someone for the Black Knights approached swiftly. However, Autumn didn't care about the task, she was more worried about Gemei as it meant she would have to go back and never see him ever again.
"Four months already went by, time does pass rather quickly when you're in the company of someone you like. Oh well, guess that's life for you." She spoke to herself whilst making the last trip to school as she had to leave for Dragena HQ the following week. Both Autumn and Gemei bumped into each other on the way to the academy by coincidence.
"If it isn't my one and only lover GEMEI," She yelled across the street upon seeing him, followed by her sprinting, which was very out of character.
"Autumn WAIT!" He knew that she was going to spear him in the middle of the road but was too slow to react, resulting in him biting dust.
"Autumn what's this about; you're joyful today, what happened?" He asked completely shocked and still dazed from the impact.
"Nothing much darling, once I saw your face, it was like light piercing my dark soul bringing forth happiness." She replied trying to be poetic while imitating his writing style.
"Damn it, I told you to stop teasing me Autumn, it's embarrassing and cringy." He whispered the part where he said it was cringy.
"As you wish honey, I'll stop but first give me a kiss."
"Ok that's enough, now stand up for fuck sakes, we are late for school because of your little stunt."
"Fine, as you wish, party pooper."
