Chapter 11 - Ground Rules

SHIT

SHIT

And... MORE DEEP SHIT.

Is that how she looked like? A thief? She shivered in nervousness when she heard his voice.

Though they were both twins, she knew immediately who it was. His voice was a tinge deeper which tickled her eardrums in a way that made her mind argue with her body.

"I-I'm not a thief!"

She turned around but all too fast and knocked her back against the bookshelf. To her horror, the books on the top began to sway and launch toward her scarf head. She closed her eyes tight, anticipating the harsh impact of the books knocking against her body.

A few seconds ticked by and yet, there still hadn't been any damage. She still heard the sound of the books falling though so her eyes fluttered open to witness Zeven towering over her too close for comfort. He was peering at her through half open eyes, again wearing nothing but a towel at his waist so his chest muscles were in full glorious view. Her eyes bulged.

Rhea practically squealed at the closeness and nakedness but quieted down as she realized he had taken the damage for her. There was a small cut at his forehead. His arm held the rest of the books from falling above her head, though some had already scattered onto the ground. They looked at each other for a moment until Zeven stepped back.

"Why in god's name are you dressed like some...clothes creature?" came his question after raking over her ridiculous armor specifically the scarf wrapped around her head so only her eyes were visible.

"Protection from the likes of you!" she shouted. "Why in god's name aren't you wearing any clothes, again?!"

Seriously, these brothers probably owned like two pairs of clothing or something to be naked in their homes all the time.

"I was in the middle of filming," he pointed out like it was just another normal thing to do in his life.

Filming...Oh the horrors! Her mind began to reel with delusions about him recording and spanking some poor unfortunate girl with a whip.

She shook her head and ducked, quickly hurrying to try and gather the fallen books from the ground. At the same time, Zeven had leaned down too and this caused them to bump heads. This was too much for her poor heart. She nearly froze and dropped one of the books she picked up from on the ground which she wrote.

Zeven snatched the book before it fell as if it depended on his dear life. "...That was a close one. Listen, if you came to steal our books you can have any one of them but not this one."

"I'm not a thief! I came here to settle some ground rules..." she then spoke in a more calm tone as she realized he held her very first book Nightingale. "That book..."

"Are you a fan of Faye Wolfe?"

She nodded, feeling awkward since Faye Wolfe was none other than herself. "Er...Yes. S-She's one of my favorite authors too!"

For the life of her, she didn't know where she was going with this. But before long, there was a sparkle in Zeven's eyes. He smiled down at her warmly. It surprised her. She thought Zeven's natural self was more brooding than friendly.

"Seriously?...That's cool. Aziel and I have been reading her works since Nightingale."

"I'm surprised you have that book since not a lot of readers appreciated it. It's no longer in print and is a rare find too."

It was true. When Nightingale first released, there were mixed reviews. Since it was a starting book from a new author, not many read or appreciated it. So when Rhea saw it on her neighbor's shelf, it just continued to shock her to her core. Nightingale was precious to her even though other readers didn't value it as such.

"Then...I'm among the few who appreciate Nightingale. In my opinion, it's one of her best works that I hold dear to my heart."

Something twisted inside of her, like clockwork spinning a weird turn but going the right direction. She took a deep breath.

"I'm glad—I mean, I'm sure she'd be glad to hear that!" she covered her mouth as he looked at her oddly.

GOOD GOING RHEA.

She wanted to bang her forehead against the bookshelf and then go back home to crawl under the covers. Rhea almost blew her own cover. Not that Zeven would even believe her but she didn't want to sound like a raving lunatic spouting nonsense.

What did she come here to sacrifice her safety and soul for, again? Oh, right.

"I came here to demand some ground rules. My nephew is here for the weekend and I'd appreciate it if you could keep things down or stop these lewd acts completely!"

"Ah, I think Aziel mentioned something like that. Okay, we'll keep things down..." his gaze trailed to her other hand. "Now that I realize it, why is there a pan in your hands?"

That easy? She looked at him incredulously, wondering why he was agreeing so easily with her. She imagined she was going to have to resort to violence, hence the cooking pan in her other hand.

"I-I don't know how that got there. Anyway, I'll file a serious complaint if you break the ground rule..." Rhea turned on her heels to leave but lo and behold, the other sex crazed twin appeared from thin air.

He was also standing across from her half naked, sporting nothing but blue jeans on. It was always so much more nerve wracking when the two of them were in front of her. Almost like double the trouble. Suddenly, Rhea wanted to wrap the scarf tighter over her head so nothing could be seen and so her body wouldn't heat up because as much as she wanted to hate them, their bodies were damn good looking.

"What are you, some scary clothes monster?" he repeated Zeven's words and then clicked his tongue. "Could you also stop painting my brother and I like criminals? Hmm also, if you can lay a ground rule then so can we. "

"What would that be?" she asked, wondering what bad deeds she had compared to them.

"Stop painting us out to be criminals. Zeven and I are simply doing a job we love so we'd also expect to be treated like any other human being out there without having you look down at us all the time."

"But you're torturing women..."

"Torturing?" the woman who answered the door earlier walked out from one of rooms and snaked her arm around Aziel's neck. "Honey, you've got it all wrong. They're giving me pleasure. If you had a chance to experience how good it feels to be dominated and loved at the same time, you would understand."

There was no chance she'd want to understand. The woman walked over to Rhea and slipped her a card. Rhea looked at the card. On it, were their names and details about Zeven and Aziel's streaming site.

She almost tossed it until the woman whispered into her ear with a sly smile, "I bet you're curious. Don't throw the card away until you've had the chance to discover what it is all the ladies are so badly falling for."

No way in hell did she want this card!

She was going to throw it out as soon as she went home. Rhea bolted from the spot and ran back to the safe haven without half naked sex crazed brothers filming torture scenes.
