"This Earth.. it only has humans you say?"
For the past hour, Kane had been trying to explain to Yoshi that he did not belong in this place. The more Kane spoke about Earth and it's many wonders, the stranger the expression on Yoshi's face.
"You're telling me, that this place with no magic or warriors relies solely on machines and science? And people are happy that it's like that? It's not tedious to live that way? "
With a vividly unimpressed look on face, Yoshi sneers and whispers to himself.
"That place sounds terrible, I wouldn't be caught dead in a place like that..."
Obviously Kane had heard every word, though he was a little mad cause he loved where he'd come from, there was no way he could force Yoshi to change his mind if he'd never experienced Earth first hand. While staring at Yoshi angrily, Kane noticed his ninja outfit and came up with a brilliant idea.
"Well, the main population and normal society lives that way. But there are a few exceptions. For instance, the village hidden in the leaf is such an exception."
"Village hidden in the leaf?"
For the next hour, Kane retells the story of Naruto and how he became the Hokage of the Village Hidden in the leaf. How he had defeated Madara Uchiha , with the help of Kane of course, and how Naruto and Kane became the greatest contributors in The Great Ninja War.
Hearing about all these amazing ninjas, like the sage Jiraiya, the copy ninja Kakashi Hatake, Naruto's nemesis/best-friend Sasuke Uchiha and the rest, Yoshi's eyes burned with an intense flame.
These legendary ninjas resemble the ancient Night Walkers of aeons past. Because of the great war hundreds of thousands of years ago, a lot species were wiped from existence. The ancient Night Walkers were almost completely driven to extinction.
Though Night Walkers resembled humans in almost every way, it had to be known that Night Walkers are a completely different species. From birth, Night Walkers have the innate ability to hide in the shadows and mask their scent from prey. They dwell in the darkness and are able to travel from shadow to shadow.
At best, Night Walkers could be classified as the cousin of the human race because of their similar traits.
Due to the war, a lot of heritage from the once great species that used to terrify all by the mere mention of their name had been lost or destroyed.
Now to find out that on this boring place called Earth, people similar to his ancestors could be found really stunned Yoshi.
At first he didn't know how to react, this news was just way too big.
If he could get his hands on the ninja heritage and skill books they call Jutsu's from the people of the Hidden leaf village, or better yet, Naruto's legacy, then the Night Walkers will once again inspire fear from the hearts of many.
Eyes bloodshot and shaking heavily, Yoshi tried to remain as calm as he could. But the thought of bringing glory back to his people, to bring back a brighter future for the Night Walkers supersedes everything in this world to him right now.
If he has to lay down his life so his people can have this information, he will gladly do so.
He grabbed Kane by both his arms and held them tightly, refusing to let go.
Shocked by the suddenness of the grab Kane was slow to react.
"Sir Kane Reed, please tell me, was what you said about the people of hidden leaf village true? Is there really such a great man known as Naruto the Hokage?"
Looking into Yoshi's eyes, Kane was a little frightened. It seemed like Yoshi would devour him whole if he did not tell him the truth.
He thought to himself "Holy shit bro, it was just a story, maybe I went a little over board on this prank.."
Staring at Yoshi, Kane was about to tell the truth, but he saw tears slowly welling up in Yoshi's eyes, he couldn't bare to tell him he was lying.
With a light sigh, he decided to carry on with this little lie, "It won't hurt to just let him believe in Naruto would it? I mean what's the worst that could happen" Kane thought to himself.
"Yes, Yoshi. Naruto is a good friend of mine. That guy was really weak when we first met, but he trained hard and eventually became the Hokage, with some help from me of course, but he did it. Earth doesn't seem so boring now does it?"
Kane didn't forget to be petty and be a little smug even when he knew he was lying.
Suddenly, Yoshi drops on his hands and knees, and kowtows. Catching Kane off guard, Yoshi repeatedly slams his forehead to the ground with tears pouring from his eyes.
Trying his best to speak coherently Yoshi begs, "Sir Kane, you have no idea what this information means to me and what it means to my people. I believe wholeheartedly that the people from the hidden leaf village might be my ancestors. First, I would like to give my thanks and praise to the man who had helped my ancestor Naruto during the Great Ninja War. Furthermore, because of this information, my people now have renewed hope in our survival on this cruel and unforgiving land."
Yoshi starts crying and wailing heavily.
Kane, speechless and uncomfortable, doesn't know how to respond.
The only thing running through Kane's head was, "Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck."
Still sobbing, Yoshi wipes snot off his face and looks up at Kane. "Sir Kane, is there any way you can get in contact with the Hokage Naruto? Or contact anybody from Earth?"
"Look bro, can you stop crying first and get up off the ground? It's a little embarrassing."
Yoshi slams his head back onto the ground even harder and remains there.
"I know I cannot best you in a fight. Nor can I threaten you or offer you anything of value in exchange for this information. All that I can do is be shameless and lower my head to beg you for the information. I will not move from here till you tell me what I want to know."
Kane rubs his temples and looks at Yoshi, "Get up first and then we'll talk. For fuck's sake man, stop crying. People are going to think I did something to you."
Yoshi's eyes shoot up and stare at Kane, but he does not move from his kneeling position.
Silence.
Kane finally sighs and relents, "Okay fine. I will tell you all that I know. But just please get up."
Yoshi reluctantly gets to his feet. As he stands up, blood is trickling down from his forehead because of the aggressive kowtows. Yoshi lets the blood run freely down without paying it any mind.
Kane looks at him, defeated. "Look, I mentioned earlier that I woke up here about a week ago. I don't know how I arrived here and I don't know how to get back. All I know is that Earth is out there somewhere, maybe in a different galaxy. Hell, maybe even in a different universe. But if it's out there, it means we can find it."
Yoshi, clearly disappointed, looks down in thought.
Silence.
After what seemed like forever, Yoshi suddenly grabs onto both of Kane's arms tightly. "You!"
Kane, stunned by the change in Yoshi, answers reflexively: "What about me?"
"You!"
"What about me?"
"YOU!"
"I said what the fuck about me yo?! Is your head broken?"
Yoshi quickly snaps out of his trance and tries his best to explain what he means, "You, Sir Kane, you helped train Naruto. You were there during the Great Ninja War. You are close friends with the Great Sage Jiraiya. You also mentored the Fourth Hokage known as Yellow Flash. You know the way of the ninja. You are our hope! You can train us! You can save us!"
Stunned, Kane thought to himself, "Well now I'm fucked."
Kane thinks quickly of a way to get out of this situation, but before he could even come up with an excuse, the cell door opens and the Hooded Monster enters.
"We.. Go.. Time to train."
The Hooded Monster grabs the chains and yanks them out of the cell.
When the Hooded Monster entered, Kane thought he had seen his guardian angel. "Oh you beauty. I could kiss you right now, if you weren't so ugly" he thought to himself.
The Hooded Monster leads Kane and Yoshi to an open space. When they arrive, Kane sees that there were some familiar faces there already.
Thovor Gragur the dwarf, the dark elf, the Orc with the goatee and someone he did not expect to see in this place.
Alaric Magnus.
Clearly Thovor, the elf and the Orc were very hostile towards Alaric. He had slain over 35 other prisoners that came with them just the day before. The atmosphere was tense.
When the Hooded Monster arrives with Kane and Yoshi, the first one to spot them was Thovor, who slowly walked over to greet them. He was followed by the elf and the Orc.
Alaric stood by the side with a displeased look on his face, but the fear in his eyes could not be hidden.
"Warrior Kane, I would like to thank you for saving my life. I am indebted to you."
"So am I."
"And me too."
The three warriors all knelt in front of Kane and saluted him.
"Anything you need, just ask. And I will do my best to meet your demands."
Kane, overwhelmed by their thanks, blushes and waves them off awkwardly. "Shucks guys. You don't have to do that. All I did was knock out the big guy. It wasn't much, and it didn't take long either."
Alaric was standing on the side almost tripped at that last line. His face suddenly went red in embarrassment.
Kane looks over to Alaric and slowly walks over to him.
He stands about 50 meters away from Alaric, at which point Alaric's knees start shaking.
Kane nods at Alaric, "How's your jaw bro?"
"Shattered, but healing well."
Kane smiles and then looks over to the Hooded Monster, "Yo monster man, since you bought all of us here I'm assuming you're going to tell us what happens next?"
The Hooded Monster nods, "You all... train... team... fight." He then walks away.
"Wait. Hold up. What about this guy?" Kane points to Alaric. "Is he going to be on our team?"
"What, you got a problem with that?" It took all of Alaric's remaining courage to say that one line. But he felt great after saying it.
The Hooded Monster just grunts, "Team." and disappears.
Kane shrugs, "Well this is gonna be fun."
