Chapter 30 - Eye for a Testicle

The pyramids where glowing with divine light and a pillar of light shot up like a beacon, several priest were already praying, devoting their faith to the gods they worship. With no exception, every single inhabitant on the planet bowed toward the the pillars of light and started to pray.

The birds stopped chirping, the alligators opened their mouths, camels lowered their heads. Even the fish in the Nile river and the plant life started to worship and pray to the gods.

There were various different rituals that were conducted, but any action with the intention of imbuing earnest feelings, served as fuel for the gods. These prayers carried deep reverence and an invisible power stated to be produced by the worship of the mortals all over the planet. It was faith! The very essence that powers the gods rushed towards the Pyramids that seem to absorb these energies and condenses them into a beacon of light.

With every inhabitant praying at the same time, a large influx of faith rushed towards the pillars of light. They started to glow even brighter with the incoming faith.

At the foot of the largest Pyramid, stood the Pharaoh. As king of the planet he would never bow to anybody or any foreign power, but in this situating he was currently sincerely kneeling in worship. The Pharaoh was dressed in gold and stood at the top of the planet was humbling himself before the pyramid.

On his head lies a Nemes, the Egyptian crown embroidered with a stripped pattern, lies a divine wadjet. This wadjet was bestowed to him by the god Horus himself! It was the symbol of Horus, the eye of Horus!

As the myth goes, Horus's eye was sliced apart by his shitty uncle. At the time Set the god chaos, trickery, fire, disorder, violence, and all things bad, murdered his brother who is also Horus's father, Osiris the god of resurrection and fertility!

Set should be trouble free and allowed to rule as he pleased right? Nope! The wife and sister of Osiris, Isis Goddess magic, fertility and motherhood, and healing, had other plans.

Yes you heard right, Osiris married his sister and it was the same with Set who married Nephthys, goddess of the river. In fact all 4 gods were relatives and they paired themselves among each other, not to mention their parents were also twins. The apple doesn't fall far from eh tree, an incestuest tree that is.

Gods tend to marry their own brothers and sisters, so don't freak out and its complicated. Anyway they weren't human in the first place so they can't be judge by human standards.

Anyway, Isis was like hell no, I'm not gonna be some widow. So with some crazy god magic stuff, she managed to revive her dead husband and made a baby with him. That baby was Horus, and like a good son he avenged his father.

During one of the battles he and his uncle were in an intense fight and he lost his eye, but in return he killed one of Set's testicle. Eye for a testicle, tooth for a tooth as the Egyptian saying goes. Due to this event, Set was foreverly shamed and greatly hated the new phrase.

Horus after the battle and with an eye missing at the time, "Worth it!!!"

Anyway the Thoth the god of knowledge forged him a new eye made on moon light and that's how his eye was a symbol as well as a protective charm.

At this time, a dense amount of faith was gathered and among various pyramids, within the pillars of light emerged various figures.

"Its the gods!!!!!", the emergence of these mythical beings, many were moved to tears.

They looked on with awe, respect, and love. The god where with them, they were here to protect them!

Mortals rarely see gods, as they experience time in different ways. For what seems like a lifetime is like a moment for the gods. They rarely show themselves unless they are enraged, there is an invasion, or other circumstances. Some mortal worship all their lives, but were never able to see the one they worship. Only a few select group of people like the Pharaoh and those they blessed and favor are allowed to communicate with them.

It was the first time for many of the inhabitance to see the gods first hand in person. It was a rare occasion and it filled the heart of the people with hope!

One of the biggest pillars of light emerges a divine hawk. It was the same pyramid that the Pharaoh was keeling before.

It was Horus the god of the sky! The divine protector of their realm! The hawk figure slowly opens his eyes and reveals stunning moonlight that glowed from one of his sockets.

With a firm look, Horus spoke to the Pharaoh, "The realm is in grave danger, are you ready to repel the invaders?"

"It is our duty! I am ready.", says the Pharaoh.

The Pharaoh touches his wadjet bestowed by the gods and passed down the royal family, and closes his eyes. The next moment, he resolves his willpower and his body turns transparent. It was the ultimate sacrifice! Only those who are truly loyal can trigger the phenomenon.

In fact his family has taken on the task of performing the sacrifice in times of need and leading the population to worship the gods and convey their messages. While they were granted great powers and authority, there is a duty they must preform.

The many pyramids on the planet served as a grand grave to the noble sacrifices that past pharaohs and heroes have made.

The current pharaoh's father has performed the ritual in the past and the pyramid he was in front of was actually dedicated to him, however the grand pyramid was empty with no mummy and no coffin. In Egyptian tradition, the dead are to be turned into mummies and preserved so they can pass on peacefully to the underworld. Unfortunately to perform the ultimate sacrifice their entire being is to transformed into pure undiluted power. After his father sacrificed himself to fuel the gods, there wasn't a body left to even turn into a mummy.

There is no afterlife for these loyal subjects. Should the occasion where there is a no need to preform the sacrifice and the subject is near the end of its life span, they are to be preserved and put in a coma-like state and await for the time where their service is needed. Within this state they are allowed to live in the after life, but once they are sacrificed even their soul in the underworld will cease to exist.

The pharaoh personally witnessed as his father brilliantly and proudly turned into pure power to empower Horus and see his beloved god fight off enemy forces. The peaceful times where rapidly eroded and with some unforeseen events the various conflicts of the pantheons and wars were growing ever more violent... Some mysterious force was mysteriouslu implanting malice and spreading war,

Just in the past few decades several mummies within the pyramids where already sacrificed. There are very few reserves and it was time for the Pharaohs turn.
