Chapter 34 - Who was that old man?

The tides have turned and the chaos subsided. Some people already took a liking to the little bird and found it "cute".

Seeing this change, Isis was relieved and Thoth predicted that things will be smooth sailing.

Horus looked for the old man in gratitude, but even with his sense he could not find him! Horus quickly infused some faith and his moon light eye flashed. He tries to peer through all secrets and tries to search for the man.

Horus was greatly alarmed and highly suspicious and figured this was no ordinary old man. For a god to infiltrate his lands was a great embarrassment. Or perhaps it was a pesky sneak human, and it was likely the later as gods wont risk infiltrating a different realm.

Unless they fused or connected their worlds forcefully to theirs they wouldn't be able to receive faith or display their authorities as well, so this was not likely to be a god but rather a mortal. A powerful mortal at that. Not only gods and mythical beasts receive faith, but great mortal figures can gain faith as. They can be elevated to that of a god, of course many proud figures refuse to acknowledge this. As they say, "once a mortal, always a mortal".

There were several erratic figures who could fit the description. For the man to nonchalantly say that "it wasn't uncommon for God to be interrogated", ment he knew a great few things about the universe as well as the fairs of gods.

"That man he couldn't be…."

"Could it be Solomon, Abe no Seimei, Merlin, the crazy witch Cerci?",Horus lists potential pesky criminals.

"This really ruffled my feathers, those unpredictable wizards are sure to be up to no good!"

He sighs and looks at his mothers joyful expression. He swallowed his worry and didn't want to ruin this joyous occasion.

"Little brother, it all up to you if you wake up now..."

----------------------------------------------------------

While Horus was busily trying to guess the identity of the cuplerate, little did he know how far his guess was...

In a back alley the man was approached by a cat and it surprisingly bows as it speaks.

"My lord, the serpent is up to no good once again, i'm afraid."

"Sigh, that dame snake won't even let me have a break!", the old man in rags rages.

"Also my lord it seems that Set is up to no good, once again."

"That little boy is plotting something as always."

"He is showing signs of conveying the chaos around the serpent as well as other type of energies in other realms."

"I believe he is in cahoots with other mythological beings in other realms..."

"That can be a bit troubling..."

"Lets go, today i was in a good mood too. I witnessed something good today.", the old man's mood greatly plummeted with the stakes of issues and problems before him.

"The bird...", the cat asked with curiosity. Just why would her lord allow that knockoff phoenix to be bestowed with the title of an egytain phoenix? It was no small matter and greatly concerned with the worship of her lord.

NEW TITLE EARNED! Knockoff phoenix acquire!

The knockoff phoenix: F*ck you!Thats even worse than a little duck or chicken!

"Oh that little thing? I don't sense anything wrong with it, it seems like its fate.", the man in rags shrugs it off nonchalantly.

While the cat was trying to maintain her lofty image as a loyal prestigious cat, the old man can already see some droll coming off her mouth....

The old man remembers when he made several phoenixes only for them to be hunted down....

A surprising revelation! No wonder there where no more phoenixes in the Egyptian realm! Their mysterious extinction circumstances have been reveled!

The poor little things were hunted to oblivion and only ended up in the stomach of a certain little cat.... Even as a goddess she couldn't escape her natural instincts.

In the cover of the dark ally the man waves his hand and a portal is created. A wisp of dangerous energy came off from the passage. The man walks in and the cat follows.

As soon as he passed through the portal, his rags and old appearance was no more. That was right, it was simply a disguise! While he retained a middle aged appearance, he showed great wisdom and endless brilliance, almost like the sun you can say...

-------------------------------------------------------------------

After that whole mess, the incident with the temple was done and all that was left was up to the mortals.

The people had great reverence for the gods and it was pretty exciting news on a boring day so they just went with it half heartedly. The ones with a lot of free time simply went to the little temple. They prayers they offered weren't very sincere compared to how they worship the other god, but it was better than nothing.

With the orders issued the mighty god Isis can only hope that the little duck was lucky enough to gain some faith and wake up.

The process of generating fate was highly reliant on luck and the creation of a new god or even integrating one, was no easy task.

Horus was not a primordial god like Ra who could create a phoenix on a whim. Luckily they did have the knowledge to help integrate the little bird by borrowing the myth of the phoenix making it a divine beast capable of receiving faith.

Due to Ra creating the sacred birds he shared some of his divinity and in return when mortals see and worship phoenixes they also worship him. Their existences were highly related and interlinked so there was no problem or any conflict of interest with the little bird borrowing the name of the Egytian phoenix. Of course there is another worship system with different rules shared by all phoenixes in all the remels, but we will talk about that in the future…..

The human mind was strange and unpredictable and not even the gods can always predict them, but slowly, faith was generated.

The mortals saw the little thing not as a true phoenix but as a mascots and with how it was favored by isis, they were more than willing to help her.
