Me:.....Eh?....."
"What? Are you against it?",Hiroki asks while peering into my face with a hint of disappointment.
"well It's not like I have a problem with that, but doesn't this school have its own volleyball and basketball team?"
"It does.... but that's what's special about this school....during the inter school sports fest, the members of different sports clubs hold tryouts for their teams so as to seek out better players,since most of the time some people who belong to other clubs or who haven't joined any such sports club are actually pretty good at athletics.....it's like finding all the best players in school from both outside and inside their clubs and bringing them together to build the strongest team there is!Also, it provides opportunities to those who can't join the sports clubs because of their other interests, since we are only allowed one club activity in this school....."
" wow! I see....that's actually pretty cool! But then, wouldn't the newly formed team be quite unorthodox?"
"Well, that's the point of the festival ....to promote unity and teamwork amongst the students.
Despite the circumstances , the team mates are expected to be in perfect harmony on the day of the tournament....that's why since we never usually have much time to form such a relationship with our teammates, we hold a 2 day,3 night long training camp for all the teams to strengthen their bonds as much as they can."
"Oooooh, sounds interesting!... Wait wait wait!", I realize that I'm getting too caught up in the excitement and calm myself down before I ask a question that's been bugging me for a while...
"Why me and Angeline ?"
"Because....",Hiroki says,"you two are probably the best athletes of our grade! I mean sure we knew Angeline was awesome...but ur just as incredible! The fact that even the 3rd years have heard about you, just 3 days after you transferring, speaks for itself."
"Hmmm.....I don't know about that, but I guess i should ask Angeline about it....."
I look over at Angeline....she's still talking to Joy....
'Well, maybe I'll tell her later.....'
"...ok then, I'll ask her after we get home...."
"Wait, what do you mean 'get home'",Hiroki asks me with a confused look on his face.
'Shit! I said that out loud!
....well it's not like we'll get into any trouble since Misa-sensei knows but.....'

I recall what Angeline told me before we came to school yesterday(if you forgot, it's only been 3 days so far)
"Carlo.....",
Hiroki lowers his voice and comes closer....
"....are you and Angeline living together or something?"
'Shit! He's way more perceptive than I thought!'
"No way,we just live close by....", I quickly and coolly brush him off.
".....*sigh* you cant fool me Carlo,I've never been fooled, not once in my life ....besides, I figured that was the case"

"My dads a detective, so, I've more or less watched him ever since I was little, You could say that I've picked up a thing or two.....like the fact that both of you brought the same lunches: Angeline rarely brings lunch,she usually eats at the cafeteria ...and when she does get lunch ....its almost always the same thing and it looks nothing like what she got yesterday; then the way you both always come to and leave school together; also I've been to Angeline's apartment once.....don't worry it wasn't just me, Joy came too.....so I know that Angeline has a cat she's very familiar with ,that only ever shows up on her doorstep....it has white fur, just like the cat fur on your bag and clothes..."
'Whoa whoa whoa! He's way *too* perceptive'
"....though,I suppose you could call all of these just my observations which could easily be ruled out, but...the look on your face just proves I'm right..."
I'm shocked by Hiroki's deduction.
Me: ".....*sigh*, well, I guess the cats out of the bag....."
Hiroki: "....rest assured, I don't plan on telling anyone...."
Me: "thanks Hiroki...."
Hiroki: "well,it's only because you seem like a sincere guy.....besides you love Angeline a lot right? I doubt you'd ever do anything that would hurt her...."
Me: "that's true....I care about her too much to hurt her.....
Wait a sec....HOW DID U KNOW THAT?! Well then again, it's not like I'm trying to hide it anyways...."
Hiroki: "well, after the introduction you gave, I'm pretty surprised that no one else noticed it....."
Me:"true.....you know Hiroki? I knew everyone respected you, but now I know why! you look out for everyone.....that's really impressive!"
Hiroki: "wha-?...where did that come from?"
His cheeks tinge red a little, and he scratches the back of his neck, embarrassed...
Hiroki: "....you know, you're a pretty good guy yourself.....you care for Angeline so much, yet you control yourself so well around her...I gotta say, I really respect you for that."
Me:" haha...well, I don't know about controlling myself....but....thanks, I guess."
Hiroki smiles, and then holds out his hand for me to shake...
"Let's be friends Carlo....."
"....I'd be excited to have a friend like you Hiroki! Though I thought we already were friends!", I say as I shake his hand.
"True that!", Hiroki says
Me: Oh right! Angeline's calling Joy over tonight, why don't you come too? It'll give me a chance to introduce you to heras my friend!"
Hiroki: Are you sure? I mean shouldn't we let the girls have their own night out?"
Me: Cmon, it'll be fun, I know Angeline would say the same! Plus....I don't think it would be wise to leave 2 teenage girls alone in the house,(meaning I can't exactly come to your house...) unless I want to come back to see my room thoroughly searched.....and neither do I stand a chance against two teenage girls if I choose to stay in the same house....so it won't exactly be a peaceful night if I have no backup....."
".....well.....you have a point there...ok then, I'll come, I'll be there to support you!", Hiroki says while he laughs...
"....but, u better tell Angeline first!"
"Yeah I will! Then I guess you can tell her about the sports festival when you meet her." I reply enthusiastically.
"Yup, then I'll meet you after school, unfortunately , I have a lot of work to do today since sensei is still on leave..."
"K, see ya!"
