Hiroki:...if you 2 are okay with being engaged, doesn't that mean you're in love?

Joy and Hiroki look at us expectantly...
'I never actually thought of it before but.....am I ok with being engaged to Carlo?'
I look at Carlo who seems a little shocked too but he quickly switched back to his normal expression,
He looks at me and smiles....
'Do I ...like him? Am I ok with this?
Carlo has always been close to my heart....
But I'm confused....can I call this feeling love?'
Suddenly Carlo pats me on the head...snapping me out of my thoughts.
'Ah....this touch....it always calms me down.....Carlos touch.....'
Carlo: it's ok Angeline ....you don't have to force yourself to answer....
Me: Carlo .....
Carlo smiles at me once more and answers Hiroki for me...
Carlo: well, the truth is...Angeline's still not used to the idea that we're engaged...and I have no intention of forcing it onto her .....
True, I love Angeline ....and she knows that, but I promised her that I'd definitely win her heart and only when she falls in love with me as well, will we consider ourselves truly engaged.
Hiroki and Joy both quietly listen to what Carlo says....then Joy speaks
Joy: well, in that case, I guess we don't have to worry! Right Hiro?
Hiroki : yes, it seems that our sweet Angeline is in good hands.
Both Joy and Hiroki voice their approval....
Joy: Angeline, you better be ready, it looks like Carlo isn't gonna take no for an answer!
Hiroki: Carlo, you better not leave her no matter what!
Carlo: I won't! I'm gonna stick right with her...right Angeline ?
Carlo puts his hand on my head once more....
And I smile at him....
Thinking that we've had enough surprises for the day ,we decide to have dinner....
Carlo made curry and rice....
Carlo: sorry , I know it's not much , but I realized to late that we were running out of ingredients....
Me: seriously? It totally slipped my mind.....
Hiroki: don't worry! This is more than enough---
Before Hiroki finishes what he was saying, Joy lets out a surprised gasp...
Joy: ....this....is.....INCREDIBLE!!!! Carlo, I thought you were good but I really didn't think you'd be this good!
Carlo: thank you for your compliment!
Following Joys example, Hiroki takes a bite as well....
Hiroki:....wow. It's delicious! Angeline, you're way too lucky.....
Joy: all that's left is for him to be really smart.....then I bet that he'd even rival the 2nd prince!
Hiroki: actually, he is pretty smart, well, more appropriately... He's VERY smart....I've seen his records from his previous school....his grades are off the charts incredible! According to his records, he held the 1st rank and never once lost it .....
Joy: seriously?! What could be more perfect? She's engaged to a guy who is incredibly athletic, incredible at academics, an amazing cook, has the looks of a prince, and to top it all off, is her most beloved childhood friend who loves her probably even more than himself!
Me: cmon Joy , you're embarrassing him....
Carlo:haha...well, I want to be able to take care of Angeline and keep her happy as well....so I guess, this was the least I could do to prove myself to her.
Me: ...pfffffft!!!
When I laugh, everyone looks at me, confused....
Me: ...Carlo you don't need to prove yourself to me, cuz ever since I was little, You've taken care of me and kept me happy.....you're the most reliable, caring and responsible person I know. Ive always looked up to you! That's why I worked hard to become someone who can stand on equal footing with you.....but to hear you say that you wanna catch up to me....haha....it's kinda funny!
Everyone looks at me with their mouths gaping open...
Carlo:...pfffft.....haha, you're right....it is pretty funny!
Hiroki: *chuckle*....sheesh, you two are a such a strange pair....
Joy: hahaha, but looks like they really are perfect for each other!
We all burst out laughing.
I glance at Carlo...
'We really are alike aren't we?'

After dinner, since we still have some time,we all decide to watch a horror movie....or rather, I'm forced to watch one with them.....
Me: can't we watch something else??? You know how much I hate horror movies!!!
Hiroki: rather than hate them....your terrified of them!
Joy: cmon Ange! Don't be such a scaredy cat!!
Hiroki laughs as he starts the movie....
Me: I can't help it!!!
Carlo: ....it's ok Angeline....you can cling to me whenever you're scared....Just like when we were kids!
'.....*gulp*...'

Carlos POV:
Angeline sits between me and Hiroki, while Joy sits right in front of the monitor.....
'Wow, shes not scared at all...
More importantly...'
I look at Angeline.....she's trembling.
I decide to try and comfort her by holding her.
But As I reach out my arm....
Angeline: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!
Joy: whaaaat? Cmon Angeline the ghost hasn't even appeared yet! What's gotten you so rattled!!
Hiroki chuckles uncontrollably.
Angeline: b-but I f-felt s-something slither up m-my back....
Me: hm?
'That's weird....I didn't even get to put my arm around her before she screamed so I couldn't have possibly caused it...then who?'
I look at Hiroki, who is now seriously watching the movie.
A few minutes later.....
I see Hiroki take something out from his pocket...
'Is that a feather?'
Hiroki notices me watching and winks.
He puts a finger on his mouth....telling me to stay quiet.
He then discreetly puts the finger up to Angeline's ear.....
Angeline: GOTCHA!
Angeline whirls around and pins Hiroki to the ground.....putting her on top of him.
'Hey hey, i know you've always been impulsive but this is too much.....Atleast realize what it looks like to others watching....'
Angeline: Hiroki !!!! Stop scaring me more than I already am!!!!
Hiroki:haha!!! Damn, you got me!"
Hiroki puts his hands up as if to surrender, meanwhile Joy turns around to see what the commotions about.
Angeline: don't ever do that again! Promise and I'll let you go!
Hiroki: ....I think you'll have to let me go no matter what, don't want to make Carlo jealous now do we.....
Hiroki looks at me.....
'...damn that Hiroki !!!!!'
Angeline seems to realize what he means as well because her face immediately begins to turn red.
'Ugh I can't take it anymore.....'
Me: ok! That's enough....
I pull Angeline off of Hiroki and into my arms.
Joy: ooooh! This is even more interesting than the movie! Looks like we've got ourselves a love triangle huh?
Joy speaks after watching the whole thing.
Hiroki: Yikes! I'm getting scared just thinking what could happen if I become Carlos rival...
Me: stop exaggerating...
I say jokingly as Hiroki laughs.
Hiroki: well, don't worry, like I said earlier....she's all yours!
We all have a little more fun while watching the movie before we finally fall asleep in a pile in the living room.

Angeline's POV:

We've all come to school and are currently standing outside the school gym....
Hiroki: alright guys....it's all up to you now!
Joy: good luck you guys! Break a leg!
Yup, the auditions for the inter school sports festival are now underway.....and me and Carlo are waiting for our chance.
Coach: next please!
Carlo: you sure about this?
I take in a deep breath....
Angeline: absolutely!
Carlo: then here we go!
We step onto the court......
