The man chocked on his tears but managed to calm down.
He finally opened his mouth. To him his life was far more dear than the money he had obtained.
"I... someone gave me 20 million for falsifying the report." The man bowed his head in shame.
Sophia's voice was tinged with anger, "Who was that person."
The man was shocked speechless. The woman in front of him was like a tigress. Her command was so powerful that he didn't have time to react, as his own mouth had betrayed him, "I don't know."
Sophia really wanted to beat him, but considering that she needed to find the murderer urgently, so that she could save Ava, she controlled her anger.
"What do you mean that you don't know?" Sophia spoke through her gritted teeth.
"I received a call twice, before the autopsy of the body. The caller were different both the time, but had the same work to do."
"Explain clearly." Sophia order with furrowed brows.
Did two people wanted Ava dead?
"I mean the first person who was a lady, called me and asked me to falsify the report and she would pay me 20 million. 10 million before the job and 10 million after completing the job. The next time when I received the call, the caller was a man. He said that last time he had called he had paid 10 million and confirmed with me about the reports. I actually don't know if the real person is a male or female."
"They gave you money and you accepted?" Sophia questioned him sternly.
The man kept his head low, he was really ashamed.
"You are a government worker. Didn't they pay you enough, for you to get things done illegally?" Sophia grabbed his head and slapped him harshly on his face.
She didn't like these type of lousy people. They were oppointed here to work for the people. Not for getting bribed by them.
Sophia had dealt with many people like this. She had also killed many people, but not for her own profit. She had killed them for the profit of her country.
The man's head buzzed for several minutes he seemed to notice stars. The impact of the slap, left his tooth loose and some even came out of his jaw. He instantly tasted something metallic in his mouth.
Sophia didn't regret hitting him. She used all her force without holding back. Being trained for years, her strength was far more than a normal man.
"It means that there are two murderers Sophia? But then why did the man called second time? I don't understand anything." Mia at the side appeared confused.
Sophia turned to face her friend. Her gaze turned gentle.
"See I told you to publicize a little, but you don't heed to my words. We have a concept called as voice changer my friend. The real murderer may have changed his voice and called. Maybe the both the voices may not be necessarily the murderer's."
Mia pondered on her words. She shook her head in understanding, "So now? How are we going to find the murderer. This was the last option we could use to get a clue about the murderer."
Sophia upon hearing her spoke sternly, "You are a detective Mia. What if we lost one clue? There would be much more clues we could get. Don't again speak like that, okay."
"Okay Sophia."
