Cold,
white,
and alone.
There on the cold wintry ground laid Liam Valentine. He was in a ripped old angel's robe in the middle of the woods, alone. his wings once white as the snow he laid on now raven black. he laid there as snow was lightly falling, slowly covering him, his hazel eyes open and focused ahead of him. he didn't want to move, nor could he. The pain of gods mighty blow still coursed through his veins. Tears slipped from his hazel eyes, Banished from heaven? what would he do with out the world he knew? with out Adam? Adam was a handsome, also gay guardian angel. Liam forced himself up, snow in his blonde hair, and he was freezing. his wings burned, agony filled him. Liam stood at about five foot twelve, with bright blonde hair, green eyes and he once had amazing Fluorescent white wings with the glowing white gown with the golden trimming.
"God, you told me you loved everyone!" he bellowed tears falling, had what he believed all been a lie? he weakly got up, folding his wings neatly behind them and used what little magic remained to conceal them. he was walking through the snow, leaves, and twigs bare foot and his robe draping behind him. As he was walking he was stopped by an old man and his dog.
"What in the world are you going out here bare foot, and in a robe for?" The old man said, but before he could answer the old man took him to a small wooden cabin and pulled him inside. "Strip down in that bathroom there i will find you some clothes better for this winter" the old man said as he wondered to his oak dresser across the room.
Liam was quick to obey him and he went to the bathroom stripping. It was then that he realized how cold his body, especially his toes actually were. Soon the old man knocked handing liam some clothes, "they may be a bit big but they will work" he said.
"thank you sir "
"boy call me Abraham " the old man said and he walked off..
Liam changed and he looked at his reflection in the mirror and held back everything he could to not break down into sobs, His wings no longer the pearl white they once were, he was a disgrace. He shook his head and he dressed into the clothes given to him and he walked out, "Abraham, the pants are a bit big, do you have a belt? I am sorry to be such a burden" He spoke. Abraham watched Liam.
"Your not from around here are ya?" Abraham spoke solemnly, as he looked at the boy in front of him look to the nicely furbished oak flooring.
"I am not" he spoke his voice quivering though he was trying to refrain his feelings from showing. he was thinking of a story to tell the old man in front of him. he wouldn't believe that he fell from the heavens, for being different from god's wishes.
"Then where are you from?" Abraham asked looking at him
"I-i don't remember" he lied, he was sure that Abraham  noticed. But Abraham said nothing of it and simply nodded, "i see"
Liam watched Abraham with interest, "what's your name boy?" Abraham spoke softly.
"Liam Valentine " he spoke softly.
Cold,
white,
Leaving a burning sensation to course it's way through him. Tears slipped from his hazel eyes, Banished from heaven? what would he do with out the world he knew? with out Adam? Adam was a handsome, also gay guardian angel, that Liam had found himself entranced by. Liam forced himself up, though the pain made it difficult for him to even sit up, his normally pale skin was lobster pink from the snow cooling him and trying to freeze his body; snow in his blonde hair, and he was freezing. his wings burned, agony filled him. Liam stood at about five foot ten, with bright blonde hair, green eyes and he once had amazing Fluorescent white wings with the glowing white gown with the golden trimming.
"God, you told me you loved everyone!" he bellowed tears falling. For the first time in the young angels life he felt anger and hate. had what he believed all been a lie? he weakly got up, stumbling a bit folding his wings neatly behind him and used what little magic remained to conceal them. he was walking through the snow, leaves, and twigs barefoot and his robe draping behind him. As he was walking he was stopped by an old man and his dog.
The old man stood at five foot exactly, short grey hair with haunting silver eyes. He had a cane in one hand, his other hand resting on top of his other hand. He had a pure white husky beside him the white dog watching Liam. Liam found it difficult to keep eye contact with the old man.
"What in the world are you going out here bare foot, and in a robe for? Boy, your going to get yourself sick shaking his head" The old man said, shaking his head lightly.Â
"Um.." Liam said as he was trying to find an excuse that a mortal man would believe. But before he could say anything the old man held up his hand.
"I do not wish to hear excuses boy. Come with me, at least with me you will be warm and fed" The old man spoke in a deep raspy voice. He then turned and began to walk the path he had been walking. Liam quietly followed him, the dog would occasionally look back to make sure that Liam was following.Â
After a few long minutes they came up on a small three bedroom cabin and the old man, with Liam's assistance made it to the front door. The old man pushed open the door and his silver eyes looked at Liam, "well go on in boy" the man said shoving Liam into the cabin.Â
The cabin was neatly furnished, there were crosses on the walls and a white candle lit on the mantle. Liam was looking about, shifting his attention to the old man once he started to talkÂ
"Strip down in that bathroom there i will find you some clothes better for this winter," the old man said as he wondered to his oak dresser across the room.
Liam was quick to obey him and he went to the bathroom stripping. It was then that he realized how cold his body, especially his toes actually were. Soon the old man knocked handing liam some clothes, "they may be a bit big but they will work," he said.
"thank you sir " Liam spoke gently as he took the clothes from the old man.
"boy call me Abraham " the old man said simply and he turned walking off.
Liam changed slowly, peeling off the ripped angel gown that he had worn so proudly. He looked at his reflection in the mirror and held back everything he could to not break down into sobs, to him he was now Hideous. His wings no longer the pearl white they once were, he was a disgrace. He shook his head and he dressed in the clothes given to him and he walked out, "Abraham, the pants are a bit big, do you have a belt? I am sorry to be such a burden" He spoke. Abraham watched Liam. Abraham cleared his throat as he looked at Liam,
"Your not from around here are you?" Abraham spoke solemnly, as he looked at the boy in front of him look to the nicely refurbished oak flooring.
But Abraham said nothing of it and simply nodded, "I see, what's your name boy?"
"Liam Valentine " he spoke softly.
"Well Liam, I have simple rules while you are under my roof." Abraham said simply as he shifted, his hands on his cane. Liam watched him quietly then said in almost a whisper, "what are the rules?"Â
"You will pray to god, in the morning, at every meal and before you go to bed. You will help around the cabin." Abraham started as he forced himself to a standing position. Liam looked at Abraham.Â
"Ofcourse, I will do as you ask," Liam said quietly.Â
"Liam, you know God will always forgive and give aid to those in need. All you must do is pray and believe." Abraham said as he was watching Liam.
"Yes Abraham " Liam said quietly. As he lowered his head and closed his eyes.
"Let us pray. Dear Lord in heaven, please watch over us as we rest. Please protect us from evil and watch over Liam as he finds his path that may lead to you. Forgive us for our transgressions and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us to the right path. Amen" Abraham said as Liam raised his head and opened his eyes.
"Goodnight Abraham, and thank you for allowing me under your roof" Liam said as he walked with Abraham to a small room with a single bed.
"Of Course Liam, now get some rest for tomorrow we have much to do." Abraham said as he then left Liam to his own thoughts.
Liam sat on the bed in the small room and he simply sat staring at the cross on the wall, "Dear God, please forgive me for my transgressions against you and allow me the chance to follow the path you have placed in front of me" he whispered quietly.
Liam after a few minutes of silence, laid his head on the pillows covered up with a blanket and allowed himself to fall asleep.
******
It was an hour to sunrise when Liam was awoken from his slumber by a wet slobbering kiss from the white husky. At first Liam brushed the dog off, but the dog only got into his face again. After the third time Liam finally opened his eyes and pet the dog, "Alright you win, I'm up" he said as he sat up the dog leaped from the bed and ran out of the room.
Liam shook his head and chuckled as he removed the blanket that had been protecting his body warmth, and he prayed to God then he got up leaving the room to find that Abraham had already eaten breakfast and was now in his recliner reading a large paper. Abraham peeked at Liam, "good morning sleeping beauty, sleep well?" He asked as he returned his attention to the paper in his hands.
"Good morning, I slept well." Liam said as he walked into the kitchen, more to investigate rather than eat.
"I suggest you eat something, we are traveling to town and I don't eat in restaurants unless I have to" Abraham said from the living room.
"Alright" Liam called back as he was looking in the pantry, finding raisin brand, he pulled out the purple box and set it on the counter before he began searching the cupboards for a bowl. He then searched and found a spoon before going to the fridge to find milk.
Soon he was sitting at the dining room table with a bowl of cereal and was eating.
As he was eating he glanced out the window to his right and he watched the snow fall, covering the old snow with fresh powder. He finished his cereal and he rinsed his bowl and spoon and he rested them on the towel on the counter.
Liam walked out to the living room. The living room was small had two recliners a couch two end tables with a lamp on each end table. There was a rug in the center with a black coffee table on it all facing the fireplace. Abraham was in the recliner nearest the door, the white husky laying to the left of the recliner. Abraham closed the paper and set it on the coffee table, the paper was dated January 2nd 2017.Â
"You ready to head to town?" Abraham asked as he got himself out of the recliner and he slowly led Liam and the husky to a door.
"Yes sir" Liam said, nodding his head lightly. Abraham was silent but he opened the door to a garage with an old pickup. Abraham grabbed the keys to the pickup off the key holder by the garage door and he got in the driver's seat.
Liam got in the passenger seat. In the middle seat between to two was the white husky. Abraham adjusted his seat and got himself comfortable as he then brushed the dog out of his way and dug in the center console pulling out a pair of glasses. He blew on them a bit and he wiped them with a rag. He slipped them on and sighed with satisfaction, "Ah, there we go!"Â
Liam couldn't help but feel his nerves ramp up watching as the old man drove the truck down the dirt path, that after an hour touched a paved road. Liam had bucked as per Abraham's request and he had been holding the handle above his door for dear life. Abraham had stopped the truck just before the paved road and he looked over to Liam and stifled back the chuckle that was in his throat.
"You're acting like you have never ridden in a car before" Abraham said with amusement in his tone then he added, "I could let you drive to town if you prefer"
"Uh, no that's okay, I don't know how to drive anyway so it's fine" Liam said.
"Never driven before? Did you like under a rock?" Abraham said in a joking manner and he pulled out onto the road and was driving towards town. Liam had finally relaxed and said, "no I didn't live under a rock" he said.
The ride had gone silent after that. It was calm and peaceful, Liam had drifted off in the passenger seat. After a couple hours Liam was awoken by Abraham yelling, "winter come girl!" And the white husky leapt out of the truck. Liam bolted upright and said, "How long was I out?!"
"Couple of hours, don't worry, you didn't miss much we just got into town come." Abraham said waving his hand. Liam got out of the truck and looked around there were some people in the streets but it was almost like a ghost town. Abraham led Liam into a small clothing store and got him some clothes that fit.
It took a couple of hours to find the right clothing for Liam. As they exited the store Liam asked, "why does this town look so deserted?"
Abraham sighed as he knew this question was coming, "Liam I know what you are, why your here. Haven't you wondered why I took you in why I didn't call you out on your lie?" Abraham looked at Liam with a straight face.Â
"Y-You know that I was an angel?" Liam stammered as he was watching Abraham.
Abraham sighed again but a small smile came to his lips, "Yes Liam. You are here not as punishment but for protection. You are here resting your angelic abilities, after all a war is coming."Â
"War? With who? Why?" Liam said as he looked at Abraham who sighed quietly.
"Liam we will discuss this matter when we are safe in my cabin. It is not safe here in the open to speak of such matters" Abraham said as he started walking toward a pet shop. Liam was quiet the rest of the time in town. Soon they were back in the truck and headed back to the cabin. Soon enough they backed into the garage and Abraham put the truck into park, turning it off.
"Liam, something you have to understand. Not all Angels are good and side with God. Some truly are like Lucifer. Do you understand?" Abraham said as he looked at Liam, his age starting to truly show.
"I thought Lucifer was killed" Liam admitted.Â
"No he wasn't killed his wings were ripped off him Yes, but satan took him to be his heir. You see Lucifer now is the current Satan." Abraham explained.
"Lucifer is satan?" Liam muttered as the last he saw of satan was a different man than Lucifer but that was well over a few centuries.
"Yes but that isn't the point. There is an Archangel that is going to betray God. He probably has some of the others working with him. So God is supposedly getting rid of Angels to let them prepare for the coming war. Liam you are the leader he chose. That is why you are here with me. I have much to teach you!" Abraham said.
"What can you teach me aren't you mortal?" Liam said making Abraham laugh loudly.
"Boy if I was mortal would I be telling you this stuff?" Abraham laughed and he coughed becoming serious again, "No, I am an angel fallen four centuries ago. God has let me keep immortality." He said chuckling.
"Oh I see. Do you know which Archangels are bad? That would give me an Idea of who we are up against." He said
"Mmmm, we don't know that yet unfortunately. But if I had to fault one I personally think Zadkiel is the prime suspect. " Abraham said as the two reentered the cabin.
"I've met them all personally so I would agree with that. Zadkiel is rather suspicious in all his actions." Liam said as he was walking to his room with the new clothes Abraham got him.
"Well if we are right, you have a lot of training ahead of you, after all he is almost on par with God himself. " Abraham said with a sigh.
"Well then let's train like he is the one we are up against " Liam said determined. Seeing this determination made Abraham glad that Liam had been the one chosen to save heaven and the rest of the worlds. But he chose not to divulge that information to Liam yet.
"Alright Liam get some rest your going to need it" Abraham said as he left Liam to his own thoughts.
