Lucinda
I slowly open my eyes, blinking the bright lights out of my eyes. I groan softly, feeling a sharp pain in my back shoot up my neck.
"Shh, don't move" A soft voice murmured. I slowly turned my head, staring at the girl in a daze. Her beautiful tiel eyes filled with something unfamiliar to me.
"W-who are you" I whispered, my voice barely a croak. She chuckled, brushing the hair off my forehead with a sweet smile.
"My name is Evelyn. I'm the librarian of this Town. You... You saved my life" She chuckled. I felt a smile tug at my lips at her childish grin.
"I... I don't remember you... " I groaned. I tried sitting up, helping in pain as the pain intensified, sending tremors through my body.
"Shh, just rest" She comforted me, laying me back down on the bed gently.
"T-thank you" I murmured. She smiled, a smile of pure innocence.
"If you ever need anything... I'm here" Evelyn whispered. I smiled, before slowly letting myself drift off to sleep.
Evelyn
I stare down at Lucinda, the woman whom saved my life.
"She doesn't remember doing it" I murmured. I glanced back, locking eyes with Archer in the corner.
"She doesn't remember it because she passed out. She hit her head pretty hard when she collapsed. " He answered. He stepped over to me, smiling softly.
"Evelyn. Why does it matter so much to you. " He asked, grabbing my hand softly. I gave him a sad smile, before looking at Lucinda.
"She saved my life" I started, letting out a soft chuckle. I looked down.
"She could've let me die, the way you were going to. But she didn't" I look up, glaring at Archer. In the moment, I felt more hate in my bones than ever before. His eyes turned pained.
"Evelyn.. " He started, going to reach for me. I shook my head, standing up and backing away from him.
"What we had is gone, Archer. I trusted you, with every inch of my being. " I started, feeling the years boil in my eyes, rage burning in my bones.
"I loved you. And you said that you loved me" I finished. He shook his head grabbing my hand.
"Evelyn. I do love you. I'm so sorry... " He tries again. But I step away, giving him a look of pure hatred and disgust, causing him to recoil.
"Stop lying to me Archer! You chose another girls life over mine. I am glad you did. She deserves to live. She hurt herself trying to save me. Something you never did for me. I owe her everything. But you.. " I took a step forward, glaring at him with all the hate in my soul. I jabbed my finger in his chest.
"I owe you, nothing. And I will never, let myself fall into your trap again. We're through, Archer. And I hope you go to hell" I hissed through my teeth, feeling rage fill me with every second as I shoved past him, walking down the corridors. I loved him. But he didn't return it. I reached up, pulling my hair down from its ponytail and letting it rain down over my shoulders.
"This is the last time, anyone will hurt me ever again"

Archer
I feel guilt in every bone of my body. Even when she was lying half dead in a hospital bed, it wasn't as bad as now. She hates me for what I did. And I deserve it.
"So you two were a thing huh" Lucindas voice croaked. I looked over at her, seeing her green eyes flit open slightly, their green depths locking in me.
"Yeah. She was more involved than I was" I started, but she raised a hand, disappointment clear on her face.
"She loved you. And a woman's love is not something you give up so easily" She started, struggling to sit up. I moved over to help her but she waved me off, determined to do it on her own.
"I was engaged. " She started. I felt my heart sink. What?
"His name was Christopher. And I loved him. With every piece of me. And he loved me back" She looked at me, her green eyes dark.
"But my father was manipulating him. Saying that if he didn't do certain things for him, he would ruin what we had. And so he did it. He became my fathers personal lapdog. Right behind my back" She looked down, pain filling her features by the second.
"One day, he had to make a choice. Be my lover, and be my fathers lapdog, or leave, and never return" She looked down, tears pricking in her eyes.
"He chose a normal life. He chose someone over me. And it hurt. Like hell. Because I was willing to fight for a relationship, and he was not. He gave up on us. And Eventually, I found out that he was dead. Killed by my father. And you know what? I didn't care. Because he left me, at the mercy of my father" She glared up at me, a fierce light in her dark green eyes.
"I knew. That you chose me to live. But I want you to realize something" She slowly stood, wobbling as she struggled to hold herself up right.
"That doesn't mean I approve. That's why, I gave up a part of me... To save her life. Bringing people from the dead takes a cost. " She grabbed my shoulder, using me to balance.
"I gave the part of me up that once lived long ago. The girl willing to get hurt for the idea of love that can survive through anything. And it doesn't take magic to do that. What do you think this did to Evelyn? " She demanded. I looked away, feeling my eyes prick with unshed tears, an ache in my heart growing more by the second.
"She will NEVER recover from the fact you chose her to die. " She yelled. I turned, glaring at her as fury filled me.
"And I will be sorry about it until the day I die. Because I love her. " I growled. She shook her head, a disapproving smile on her face.
"No you don't. Whenever you talk about her... You don't light up like she's the best thing in your world. You never mentioned her to me until she was practically dead. That is NOT love" She shook her head. Slowly she stumbled back. I rushed to catch her as she hit the wall, holding herself up by an inch.
"And that makes you.... Just as bad as my father" She whispered, before collapsing in my arms. I closed my eyes, letting the tears in my eyes release themselves, feeling them slide down my cheeks in careful streams as I lay her down in bed. Then I fall to the floor.
"That's rough" A unfamiliar voice says. I ignore him, looking at my hands.
" She's hurt. That's all" He added. I looked up at the man standing by the door. His dark green eyes locked on me and Lucinda, his slightly tinted.
"She's right though. I almost let the girl I claim to love die. And it cost both of them a chance at a proper life" I exclaim. I run a hand through my thick hair as I close my eyes. I should've never gotten involved with Lucinda Pierce.
"Lucinda Peirce was not born for a natural life. Neither was Mae, " He gestures to the Bronx haired girl laying across the room from Lucinda, " But that doesn't mean a thing. A natural life is overrated in a world where magic exist. Literally nothing is normal after that line is crossed. Don't beat yourself up about it" He explained to me, his depend voice slightly soothing. I looked at him, feeling a slight ache in my chest.
"What did I do wrong? " I demanded. He gave me a sad smile.
"That's for you to find out"

Lucinda
Slowly I walk down the long corridor, barely lit by the few torches hung on the wall. I stumbled, grabbing a hold on the wall.
"Evelyn... Where is she.. " I fell to my knees, panting in pain. I closed my eyes, feeling sweat cake my body and stick to my clothes. Then I raised my palm, feeling bright white light emanate from my hand.
"The Oheonix was more than just a fire weilder. She was a creator. A healer. " I looked up, my eyes shining through the light.
"I'm so sorry mom" I look up into the sky, hoping my mother is not watching me now, with Disapproval. Then I clench my fist, feeling fire and white light clash, violet haze glowing around it as my powers combined, swirling taking form. I screamed in pain as my power exploded out of me, pouring into the tornado of my power. Than, just as quickly as it happened, it faded, leaving a glowing red orb floating in the air, fire costing its surface.
"I hope you can forgive me" I stood up, taking a stumbling step forward and grabbing the orb that burned my palm. I closed my eyes, feeling sensual energy sparking in me, giving me strength. I felt tears prick in my eyes.
"The time has come" I pulled the orb close to my chest, feeling an uneasy feeling settle over me. And then, Everything turned red.
And I screamed.

I catch Lucinda as she falls to the floor, a red light glowing from her chest.
"Foolish girl. " I muttered, lifting her in my arms with a scowl. And then I turned, sprinting down the hallway from which she came, heading to the infirmary room where she had been resting.
"Why would you push your limits like that? The gods above you and your mother are similar. " I muttered. I kicked open the door, ignoring the agitated glances from the people in the room.
"She needs help! " I called. I layed her down on the table, closing my eyes softly.
"My Hestia.. " I murmured. I gripped her hand, the familiar feel of it bringing an ache to my chest, the ache to have it back again. To have her love. For her to look at me and be able to smile in a way of never seen before.
"She'll be fine.. " I murmured. I stared at her chest, where the glowing red light is still pushing, but at a softer rythym than it was before.
"Who are you" A man asked. I turned, locking eyes into the man's deep blue ones.
"My name is Christopher. " I answered, before turning back to Lucinda. I learned down, pressing my forehead to hers.
"I will always love you, Lucie" I murmured. Then, I moved closer, closing my eyes as I kissed her, feeling a warm sensation fill me.
"Never forget that" I whispered as I pulled back. I reached into my pocket, pulling a necklace out. I ignored the threat of crying as I open her palm, pressing her necklace in it. I turned, and then melted away into frost.
