A few days later, the massive crowd was gathered inside of the courtyard of the palace. Damien altered the space inside the walls using magic to have everyone be able to fit inside. Damien stood on the top of the steps of the palace entrance leading to the massive palace doors. The doors along with everything else in the palace had an elaborate design that showed artificial starts and moons and seemed to be an impenetrable material. When the last of the people trickled in Damien began to speak and amplified the sound in the area around him.
"First of all, brought you all here to rely some information to you. When I first began this city it has always been to create a safe haven for all people. Inside of my boarders there are no nobles, only people who work hard and get paid more for the work put in. Here you grow from peasant into a merchant king. Grow your wealth and move away to some place that makes you happy if you want. No one is a prisoner here even if you swear by the oath. Yet I well guarantee their will be no better place to live on this planet. Justice and law will assist with what's right and wrong in this country. We will have honorable men enforcing these laws. Any bad apples will swiftly be dealt with. Yet even a seemingly guilty man would still have a fair and just trial. I want Numera to be the world leading city in magical science and producing the best mages in the land. Yet, even this is not enough. We will advance even further into the future. I will show you how."
Damien pulled out 20 objects. 10 large remarkable grey cubes and 10 skill books with a title and intricate designs.
"I will not say anything further but will only show you what I mean. Send up 10 people in the crowd. I'll let the crowd choose who."
Of course the people hesitated for long moments until 10 brave men finally walked up to the stage and stood next to Damien. Next he summoned 10 D-cubes and 10 skill books that rested on top of them. He motioned for the men to stand behind the cubes.
"Now the first thing I want you to do is to is to touch the cube. Then tell the crowd what you see."
Each man reluctantly reached out and placed their hands on the cube. They all flinched when their hands made contact. Then all gasped and their eyes were moving like they were seeing things that everyone else couldn't.
Damien pointed at the man closest to him and asked what did he see. He still had the sound around him amplified for the listener in the crowd.
"I see words, my king but I am illiterate and have not began my learning yet. I am sorry my liege."
The crowd was still not impressed and had no idea what that meant. Yet they knew that this was their king so they wouldn't publicly voice their displeasure. The man looked down cast at his admission. Damien pat the man shoulder and gave the man a reassuring smile.
"It's okay, now each of you pick up a skill book and open and begin reading it. Don't worry its safe."
The man Damien spoke to was the first to do so. For some reason he felt like he could trust his king. The man opened the book up to read it before it dissolved into bright white particles that sped into the mind of the man. His eyes glazed over for a moment before he blinked a few time in amazement. He placed his hand back on the cube and after a moment he summoned a sword. Afterwards he summoned a massive Turkey leg fully cooked.
"I,I,I...I know! I know how to use the machine. I couldn't before b,b,but now I can! I just have to select what I want from one of the options and it appears where I want out of thin air! Clothing food, items, and I have the knowledge to use it all! What magic is this!"
The men next to Damien could only nod dumbstruck. Damien waited for the crowd to realize the importance of what he had just shown the. After seeing the hungry greedy eyes of the crowd Damien knew he had them.
"Well every business owner needs to have their secrets. Damien chuckled. Yet, these D-cubes and skill books will be available to every household that has already signed the oath. You will officially join the inner kingdoms full benefits. I'm admit this is all at a cost."
Damien was quiet also that he could let his point sink in.
"I want you all to get stronger and smarter. The schools will be for the future generations. For now unfortunately, our world will not us have the peace we desire."
With that he created a giant screen and showed the early parts of the battle with the Hellions. The crowd screams and the mothers hid their children eyes and stared at the video image in terror. Damien had nothing and show them gruesome truth of how their world still was. After a few moments of showing the losing Algarian side. The image switch to a mage with all black attire, an extravagant crown that seemed to hold the very basic magical elements and a powerful looking staff topped with a beautiful orb.
The video showed Damien raising an incomprehensibly massive wall that actually stretched the entire continent. It showed that the wall halted the approaching army. With numbers too large to fathom to mostly peasants who have only left their villages a few times or are natives of the cities in Algaria. The video played a sped up version of events that too place during the battle. The crowd turned from fear, to hopelessness, to having hope again, to cheering and crying by the end. Now the people knew the statues around the city were of these valiant heroes and the fallen. The people had a look of resolve and determination.
"All that I ask is that you love your land and your fellow man and protect them with everything that you have. I showed you this to show we will need each other if we are to survive in these lands. I want to unify all the lands and people, but I'm not naive to believe all people will come peacefully. I will do my best to use words before actions, for I also do not condone pointless loss of life.
"The cubes are to remain in homes. They will not activate outside of the designated area of the home. Unless the object is too big for inside of the home it can create it in any desired locate. These cubes will be a staple for every household in Numera."
:As for the skill books. They will be harder to obtain. The process to make them is difficult and time consuming. They also have different grades based on rarity. Common, Middle Grade, High grade, Rare, Legendary, Mythical ranked skill book. Based on the rarity the more expensive, or hard to obtain the skill book will be."
"Although their will be skills to instantly learn how to operate vehicles as well as an expert. You still have to get your current body acclimated to the new skill. This is especially true for combat related skill books. "
"All adults over 18 will begin being tested to be a mage or follow the path of of a cultivator. The concept of cultivation is new to this world. Instead of magical energy the Dao harness your spiritual energy using martial skills, and cultivating a Dantain through meridians in the body."
From experience, cultivation begins internally and mage powers are external. There are many similarities between the two but also both are completely different. If you better with your hands and weapons then the way of the Dao and martial laws for you. These are the laws of a universe." Damien purposely said 'a' universe because he still didn't know jack and shit about the Dao but he knew that before he seen the martial master in the cultivation building. That would be Damien new sect HQ. He would call the building the Immortal Mage sect. He needed to definitely get some cultivation skills before creating skill books with the MAC. He would create the legendary and mythical skill books with his own power.
"Now if you swear fealty to me and the creator bend a knee and swear the oath to me. Otherwise you will never be able to have the benefits of the inner Sorlen city. I must prepare these that follow me but I will force no one, but you all see the threat, so choose!"
When Damien spoke his eyes glowed and he let off a faint aura when he became to impassioned. Yet that aura was enough to force all on their knees involuntary. One by one, the crowd began to swear until over a half million people swore the blood oath to Damien. Yet this time no blood was need their words bound them to Damien's core somehow. Damien wasn't sure what happened but he couldn't think on it too much he had a country to prepare.
