Ivy sent Lydia a text letting her know "Carson" wasn't feeling well before they left. Honestly, it was such a relief. She never should have let herself be convinced to do something so detrimental in the first place. Telepathy and crowds did not mix.
She dropped Carson off at home without incident and made it back to her place, where her mother was waiting to ambush her with questions.
'Why is she home early? Was it too loud for her again? I really wish I knew what was actually wrong with her ears so I could do something…she can't survive in the world being this sensitive,' her mother fretted.
The questions she asked out loud were slightly different. "Did you have fun? Who all did you go with? Is everything okay?"
Ivy sighed. "I'm fine, Mom. Just have a headache. Before that it was pretty fun. I went with a guy in half my classes and Lydia went with someone in her math class. Totally a normal day. Can I go lie down now?"
