They continued chatting about mundane things for the majority of the drive. Normally, Ivy was able to drive a conversation forward by picking up on what the person was thinking so this was new territory for her.
Was this how normal people felt? Not having any idea what they are saying or doing?
What was Adrian actually like? 99% of the time she was able to figure people out easily but he was a mystery. He laughed a lot but that didn't necessarily mean anything. People laughed for a variety of reasons, including out of discomfort.
"I'll be sure to text you about a time when it gets closer to that movie coming out," Adrian said as they pulled up to her house.
"Yeah, sure. Thanks again for the ride. See you around!" Ivy replied cheerily before exiting the car.
She got home a little later than usual but her mom was on the phone with someone so she didn't even notice. At least she still beat Ethan home so she could walk the dogs instead of dealing with the litter boxes.
