Chen Yan and Yang Suya ended up never finding teacher Wen or Xiaohei. They didn't know whether he drove or bikes or walked.
They first went to the entrance to ask if he already left, and learned he was still in school somewhere. They went to the parking lot, but didn't see him, and didn't know which car was his, so they left.
Eventually they ended up skipping one of their classes to look all over the school. They asked around, and eventually learned he owned a Prius from a teacher, and that the last time he was seen was at the parking garage.
They already looked there, so their hopes weren't high, but they looked more carefully this time.
They found the Prius, and saw the engine still running. So they approached carefully.
"...help... me...!" They heard a low groan and immediately looked through the car window to see Teacher Wen with blood on his shoulder, and looking like he doubled in age, which was odd considering his cultivation. They didn't see Xiaohei, so they called the police.
Chen Yan was hesitant, worried they might connect his injuries with the cat she brought somehow, but if they left it alone, they would appear even more suspicious.
The emergency number was dialed immediately.

The incident quickly blew up.
-A Golden Core Realm Cultivator Crippled!-
-Paralyzed from the Neck Down!-
-Demonic Cultivator Attacks!-
-Heir Of Wen Corp Crippled!-
-Vampire?!-
The headlines were mostly like that. It read that heir of Wen Corp was attacked and crippled yesterday by a mysterious demonic cultivator who was apparently 3 meters tall, had red hair, and had a face like an ogre.
Chen Yan was in class right now with Suya by her side and Xiaohei once again in her satchel. She was reading the news on her phone.
"Are you sure you know nothing about this, Xiaohei?" She looked at the lazy tiger cub, who had mysteriously shown up in her bag while they weren't looking yesterday sometime after they called the police. And then acted like he was never gone.
He claimed ignorance yesterday, and his soul had mysteriously grown stronger, and he seemed to have some technique to prevent her from reading his mind.
But today was different. Recently she was pushed to her brink by Xiaohei's appearance, and had actually made a breakthrough into hollow core realm due to the stress of constantly talking with this infuriating beast.
As a result she comprehended something mysterious, and her cultivation technique somehow mutated or something, turning her normal 7 soul notes, into the 7 Hearts Crystal Soul Notes.
It may have something to do with her constantly reading Xiaohei's uniquely ancient soul, but the technique embodies her desire to see through all truths and lies. All men who heard her song had no choice but to bear everything in their soul to her. She had even gained a new Soul Form Armament, which she now used.
One of her eyes seemed to crystallize into a sparkling sapphire, the Transparent Soul Crystal, and stared straight at Xiaohei.
He could see the strange eye and felt dazed looking at it, but his head turned away, feeling as if it was suspicious.
"Let me ask again, are you sure?" But it was too late. The moment he met her eyes, she could see partly into his soul.
Suya only watched in interest.
At Chen Yan's current level, without using music, and without constant eye contact, she can only tell truth and lies.
"Yes I have nothing to do with this." He harrumphed confident in his deception.
"You're lying. Did you do something to teacher Wen?" She was now holding him up in the air while he was avoiding eye contact.
"What makes you think I'm lying? I didn't do anything to him." He wasn't a bad actor, as he did look rather indignant.
"You're lying again. You crippled him, right?"
"N-no." He was no fool, and could tell she was doing something to tell his thoughts, but he continued to play the fool.
"Hmph. Look me in the eye and tell me what you did." She ordered him sternly. It made her wonder who Suya wonder who Xiaohei was really in a contract with. This definitely wasn't equal.
"I have nothing to say to you! Who are you to give me orders!" He resolutely turned away. Chen Yan was sure he was hiding his nervousness with arrogance.
"Suya, help me hold his head." Xiaohei looked to Suya with a slightly upturned tilt, opened his eyes, blinked a few times to make them watery, and tried to use his kitty eyes on her.
"Haha! Sorry Xiaohei!" She shrugged and hugged his head into her chest. Now he couldn't turn his head or he would suffocate. Some boys at the side looked at the scowling cat enviously. Suya was not unpopular after all.
"Did you do that to teacher Wen?"
"I already said so, No.(Fufu, I did do it, that human was powerless to resist me.)" He struggles in futile resistance. Causing Suya to laugh in amusement.
"So you did! What did you do?" She pressed her interrogation.
"Kh! How shameless of you humans to read my mind! You should be thankful for my mere presence!(I severed his nerves at his cervical spinal cord, paralyzing him from the waste down. A simple feat for one as smart as I!)" He meowed in agony.
"You severed his nerves, how did you know how?" She was surprised.
"Hmph!(Foolish humans! I am incomparably familiar with the vital points of most species in the abyss! Here will be no different! The first thing I studied after learning to read was human anatomy! I plan to study others in time.)"
"Wow. Xiaohei is really smart! He could be a surgeon!" Suya exclaimed. By forming a link with Chen Yan, she could also hear him.
"Hmph, my intelligence is obviously above you foolish humans!(Fufu, that's right! I am smart! Praise is natural! This Suya isn't bad at all!)" He was apparently secretly happy with compliments, perhaps he was blushing under his fur. The girls' giggled at his surprisingly pure thoughts.
"Haha, why did you do it Xiaohei?" She wanted to poke more fun at him.
"Hmph!(He was targeting the human under my protection! Of course I have to do something about him!)" He could do nothing but keep his mouth shut to preserve the last of his dignity as the girls laughed in amusement.
It was at this point that the teacher walked in, it was not teacher Wen, unsurprisingly.
