Chereads / The Last Abyssal, Tyrannical Pet / Chapter 53 - Wen Zhufeng

Chapter 53 - Wen Zhufeng

Something is wrong here. Something very wrong. Chen Yan knew he did something, but how could he reduce a golden core cultivator to this state.

She immediately pulled Xiaohei out of her satchel and grabbed by the head.

"Human! What do you think you're doing?!" He was dissatisfied at being treated so roughly.

"Tell us! What did you do to him?!" Such a terrifying ability of unknown caliber. With the capability of making someone listen to his orders from a distance! This was almost on the level of mind control! What else was this tiger hiding from them? They couldn't possibly let him go unchecked, no matter how close they were. Still she spoke through the soul, as not to

"Hm? What are you talking about?(Impossible! Does she somehow about the soul contract? Oh right, mind reading.)"

Chen Yan gasped while Suya watched in shock.

"Soul contract?! On a human?!" Xiaohei just awkwardly looked away.

They wanted to ask more but suddenly someone slammed open the door and walked into the classroom.

"Greetings everyone. My name is Wen Zhufeng. I will be teaching you all English from here on. You can call me whatever you want. My condolences on what happened to your previous teacher, whoever may have done that to him." He spoke loudly, silencing the room, while scanning the faces of the students like a hawk for prey.

At his name, many could instantly tell that he was related to Wen Zhuhai. He was a tall and thin, yet his frame exuded dominance. His face was hollow and he had an eagle nose, yet he had an unmistakable resemblance to Wen Zhuhai. He had silver grey hair, and looked to be around 50. Many were sure that he was Wen Zhuhai's uncle.

What was he here for? Why did someone related to the Wen's come? Many, including Chen Yan, could tell that this was no coincidence.

His sweeping eyes finally landed on Chen Yan's area, and they locked eyes, instantly causing cold sweat to flow down her back.

"You there. Student with the cat. Come here. Bring your bag. Make no other moves." He directed her sharply. There was no room for discussion. It was an order.

"Y-Yes!" Chen Yan got up with her bag and let down Xiaohei. When he spoke up again.

"Take the cat too." He looked at Xiaohei, an explainable look in his eyes.

"O-of course!" Chen Yan picked up Xiaohei in her arms, who snuggled up to her, trying to be a normal cat.

"What do you need me for, teacher... Wen?" When she got to the front, she looked at the new teacher nervously.

"Bag check." He held out his hand. Short and sweet. He spoke nothing unnecessary.

"Y-Yes." Was he suspicious of her? Did she think she had something to do with what happened to Wen Zhuhai? She was the one who reported to the incident, so maybe it had something to do with that, she comforted herself.

As the room was completely silent, all that could be heard was ruffling Of Wen Zhufeng going through Chen Yan's bag, and saying everything he found out loud, much to Chen Yan's embarrassment.

"Perfume. Wallet. 53 rmb in change. Student ID. Photo of parents and sister. Make up kit. Mirror. 37 coupons for JFC fried chicken..." once he picked up something a little... too personal. He only blushed slightly and put it back in silently without any other change in face.

"As a youthful young girl, do you not have any... self defense products? Such as pepper spray, a taser, or a ...knife?" He asked slowly after rifling through her bags contents.

"Yes...? I have a pocket knife I keep on my body..." she answered warily. As this teacher was making her very uncomfortable.

"Show me." Looking right into her eyes, he held out his hand, showing that she had no right for negotiation.

She took out a small, switch knife and put it in his palm, trying her best not to touch him.

He observed it carefully, and took out a picture and held it next to the knife in front of his face. She could not tell what the picture was, but she was sure that it was another knife, and he was comparing them.

"Thank you Ms. Chen." He then handed the knife back. Who took it and stored it back where she left it. She then picked her bag and turned to leave.

"Now the cat." He held his hand out again. Once more his face did not change at all.

"Excuse me?" She was obviously confused.

"The cat. I want to inspect it."

"Inspect... my cat?" She gestured to Xiaohei.

"Yes. Now." His face was just as stern as before.

"Okay... But be careful, he likes to test people." She glared at Xiaohei, signaling him to not do anything rash.

"Rest assured Ms. Chen. I am more than capable of handling a cat." He snorted.

Chen Yan then carefully set Xiaohei down on the desk. And backed up, leaving Xiaohei to his own devices. The new teacher Wen moved to pick it up.

"Nyaa!" Xiaohei slapped the hand with his paw without much strength. Somehow Teacher Wen's face turned a shade darker. Did he feel like the cat was looking down on him?

"Xiaohei! Behave!" She scolded him, she did not want this mysterious person from the Wen family to be suspicious of him.

This time Xiaohei did not resist him, and was obediently picked up by the waist.

Wen Zhufeng stared at Xiaohei intently, and prodded him with his thumbs, causing Xiaohei to squirm uncomfortably.

He then shifted to hold him in his arm and poked Xiaohei's cheeks prompting a slap from his paw. But he did not stop, upsetting Xiaohei, who but his finger, there was no strength in it though, keeping up the act of a harmless cat. There was now a noticeably blush on Teacher Wen's face, as a corner of his mouth twitched occasionally.

"Thank you Ms. Chen." He said, when he was done with Xiaohei, who snuggled into Chen Yan's arms after being harassed by teacher Wen. It seems this mysterious teacher just liked cats. She was glad she made a tail cover to hide the scales on his tail beforehand.

Wen Zhufeng's face returned to normal as he called on several other students to inspect...
