Chapter 15 - I remember years ago when...

Flashback high school

Caesar's personal driver drove him to school, it was a brief ride the private school wasn't far from his mansion. Today was the first day of sophomore year. The school was big. You could see a bunch of kids eager to see the school and gossip with their friends as they stepped out of their luxurious cars. All the students moved towards the entrance gate.

Caesars first period teacher settled down everybody. The room was bright and lively, the students yelled to each other as if they weren't next to each other. Annoyance ran down his spine as he sat in his chair. The professor was a tall woman with blond hair in a bun and thick black glasses; she looked about fifty years old. She instructed all the students about the many activities we would do in the class. Mrs. Peterson told the student they would have to and will study every single day if they wished to pass her class. Mrs. Peterson said they would learn how to solve trigonometry problems, everybody knew she would be a cool teacher as she told them a funny story causing them to laugh.

After her long story ended, she went to the board and called everybody up for roll call. "We will start by alphabetical order, there are 26 students in the classroom as of right now. After that we will learn about each other one by one with the partner I assign you to. We will also recite basic algebraic formulas, then that's it for the day." "Awesome!" exclaimed everybody in the class.

Before Caesar knew it class was over and he learned about his partner the teacher assigned him. Her name was Milani Kekoa, she was the only freshman in our class and she wasn't rich, instead she got a scholarship to study in this school. Caesar and his partner talked a lot about themselves, in the end he thought she was cool.

Now it was time for lunch, all the students from every grade gathered in the school cafeteria, pushing and shoving to eat. Everybody chose their favorite lunch. Since the school was rich, they had almost every category of food for the students. Picking up his lunchbox Caesar sat at the table with his friends and ate heartily. Suddenly someone sat down next to him. "Hi Ceaser," looking up he saw it was Milani. "Oh hi, um why are you sitting next to me?"

Flashback over

It had been five years and half since Caesars divorce with Milani, and he was proud to say he had finally forgotten her. While living his best life with his wife Sarah and daughter Mary. Although at first he wanted nothing to do with her but to only help with their baby, they gradually worked out their problems.

However then Caesar gained feelings for her and so he married her. It has also been five years since his older brother had talked with anyone from their family. The day he took back his engagement ring from Sarah was the day he went MIA. He left the business for good. The last time anyone had seen him was when his mom, dad, and siblings and Caesar went to his house looking for him. Only to find an empty house and a surveillance tape.

Adam who was his chief of security elucidate that he was gone before security could stop him. After that he maxed one of his credit cards out and never used them again. The last time his family ever saw him was on that stupid tape. His once hearty laugh had become hollow and cold. The smile that had been so quick to light his face was now only a mask to protect him from society. In the tape you could see the way he broke apart his home; shattered glass here and there, smashed bottles of beer, and punched walls everywhere. But the worst one of all was the image of Caesars ex wife assisting him pack out all his clothes and items he needed. All the footage until the day he left got erased without a trace of evidence as to why he disappeared.

Flashback 2 days after Mason disappeared

"Mom I'm positive he's ok, probably just taking a break from all the business he has to take care of," Caesar pleaded exhaustingly. Over these past few weeks he'd been drained from helping with the association because his big brother didn't want to get his lazy ass up. Caesar had to run errands for Sarah and the baby causing them to come over to his house every day and him taking care of them two.

"Fine all right but we are going to his house to check if he's ok be there by two sharp, love you," She answered reluctantly.

It's now two thirty, and they were outside his house waiting for Adam to show up and unlock the front door. What had this guy been up to that he had to change his locks in order for nobody to get inside?

"Now he's here, after thirty minutes of waiting," Caesar exclaimed. "For Heaven's sake, hurry! I have a fucking meeting I get too, do be quick and take your time Adam." Caesar yelled sarcastically.

Unlocking the door they all infiltrated into the residence, barging in the living room Caesar gasped at the amount of broken glass surrounding the area. The images reminded him a lot of how his home looked like the day after he got home from rushing his Ex wife to the hospital.

An audible gasp went round the living room as the image of punched walls burned throughout their vision. Their mother had the worst reaction, she gave a loud gasp of shock. Everyone in the room could hear her squeal and weep out, to her missing child. "Adams where is my boy?," The words came out in quivers as their father struggled to soothe his now weeping wife. Caesar thought to himself, he'd been doing some thinking about this, and he didn't think he'd just disappeared for no reason. What if he found out about Sarah and I? His eyes widened at the thought.

Impossible no, he thought to himself. They buried all the evidence they ever had on the DNA test. "Do you think they have a security camera that captures the footage of what was going on with him? What if he was doing drugs and become crazy?" Mom gasped in surprise at the sound of his sister's theory. "Ignore her," mom replied. "But do you have any footage at all of my little boy." Adam administered them to avert to his office where he could show them the surveillance.

"Here it is," he played the tape. "Hold on, there's footage missing, and I can't seem to retrieve them," For a moment he looked puzzled, and suddenly turned away. "The last footage seen here is from two days ago." The tape started off at eleven in the morning where you could see Mason in a rush packing up all his belongings. Just after zipping up his final suitcase, He heard the doorbell ring. He turned the knob and pushed the door open.

For a split moment Caesar glared at the screen in disbelief. Eventually his eyes blazed with renewed fury. "Pause right there," Caesar's mouth dropped open, and disbelief crossed the features of his face. Staring right back at him was the image of his ex wife kissing the cheek of his brother. Milani helped him with his suitcases and they disappeared. Anger spread through his body if at that moment someone animated his life steam would be visible from his ears. Caesar never would have believed a woman could be kind hearted and suspicious at the same time.

"Wdf?!" Caesar shouted at the screen.
