Mark was more worried about the city upon seeing these orcs, so he simply tossed the knocked out berserker to the side then made a mad rush towards the area.
The leading Orc had grown tall nearly as tall as Mark's current form the big difference between them was the fact that the Orc had a muscular frame that could Arnold at his peak to shame, as its muscles rippled with power and promised destruction.
But something odd happened when their eyes met... all of the bone fiends under Mark started to roar, then at the same time the orcs did as well as if a long time nemesis had met after storing grievances after a few centuries.
It was a weird sensation, as this made Mark more inclined in erasing his enemy, it was the same for the horned Orc before the monster pointed its dual-ended halberd toward Mark in a challenging manner.
While this had happened the horned Orc's army became uncontrollable as they started charging towards the walls of where more of the bone fiends congregated after their leader challenged Mark before his troops that were outside of the city abandoned all thoughts about the city and cared only for the orcs as they met the charge with one of their own.
This sight was surprising for the defenders of the city on the walls, given how relentless those monsters were towards them earlier!
With both armies out of the way, this left both Mark and the horned Orc alone to finish their old debts.
--- 3rd person pov from afar---
the sight of waves of orcs clashing against waves of these bone fiends was a sight to behold, as both sides didn't care for their well being as weapons struck, the flesh was torn, bones were broken, the roars of either side only grew louder as both sides wanted to annihilate the other through any means possible!
The brutal dance between orcs and bone fiends had begun, as blood sprayed the field and corpsed of either race quickly littered the ground.
One of the first BFs had stabbed its blade-like arm through the of an orc only to be held in place by its victim's arms before another one chopped its head off with an axe, then it was attacked from behind with a bite that ripped a huge chunk from its neck by another BF.
The battle that everyone could see was ruthless as each side did whatever they could to their advantage even if they had to walk on the dead bodies of their comrades as long as they could kill each other!
There were no soldiers on either side that could remain in one place without getting hit or dying!
That scene was typical for the weaker ones, for the stronger ones. However, you'd be able to see them fighting skillfully as they parried each other's attacks, caring not for those that were caught in the crossfire, as each attack either killed something or destroy the terrain a little to help them gain an advantage over the other, cheap shots, low blows, dirty moves...
All of these were welcome as long as they managed to harm or kill the enemy!
The sound of colliding flesh and bone could be heard as a loud screeching of metal followed, and Mark was having a repeat of the last time they fought, as the Orc wanted to prove that he was superior, as fists knocked against fists, weapons grinding on weapons.
This time Mark was the one suffering the most. The Orc had neglected the most important skills that it had, while its skills lesser battle sense, increased vitality, and increased strength had reached its next tier, dual sword mastery was stagnant at the 5th level as the traditions of orcs made it abandon its old weapons.
Stamina was something that he surpassed the Orc in as he proceeded with upgrading it and the magic resistance, making Mark feel like he had just broken free from something, as his body felt so light and at the same time like an unbearable itch had just been scratched~.
Things seemed to be going well for him, at least until the Orc used his skill swift 'slash'!
Using it with the strength skill and battle sense, this attack quickly broke a layer through Mark's defenses as he was sent flying backward, but upon receiving this attack, he too used a skill with his tail like a whip that smashed into the temple of the Orc as they both fell to the ground!
The Orc first chuckled in an orc's way thanks to its tusks before laughing towards the sky as if this world was too unfair.
*KULKULKULKUL KAKAKAKA*
"ӄǟӄǟӄǟӄǟ ȶօ ȶɦɨռӄ ɨ ǟʍ ʄօʀƈɛɖ ȶօ ֆȶʀʊɢɢʟɛ ǟɢǟɨռֆȶ ʏօʊ ʏɛȶ ǟɢǟɨռ...!"
The Orc got up so easily then walked towards its halberd as if it had resolved itself.
When it had grabbed the weapon, the Orc's demeanor had changed completely before turning towards Mark, then broke the weapon in half with brute strength making the pressure it gave increase even more as he dropped a solemn vow!
"ɨ ǟʍ ʀʊӄ'ɢǟʀ օʄ ȶɦɛ ɨʀօռʄǟռɢ ȶʀɨɮɛ, ɨ աɨʟʟ ƈʟǟɨʍ ȶɦǟȶ ɦɛǟɖ օʄ ʏօʊʀֆ ȶɦɨֆ ɨ քʀօʍɨֆɛ օռ ʍʏ ɦօռօʀ!!!"
A promise of an orc is something of a double-edged sword. Should an orc complete the vow, the said Orc would permanently gain an enormous boost in his power.
Should they fail a massive drop in strength if they were lucky, meaning that they'd die should they fail in most cases, with the only positive thing about it was there was no time limit.
Ruk'gar began his assault on Mark as his blows were heavier, deadlier, and more ferocious!
But Mark held his ground, resisting as best as he could, as his armor was being chipped away with each attack his armor had met before their battle was interrupted by some kind of attack made from breath of ice that forcefully separated them.
Both monsters looked at the interloper, which happened to be a woman riding a wyvern as her cold gaze landed upon them, no, more precisely Mark!
This pale-skinned woman had long blue hair that fluttered with the wind, yellow eyes that shined like gems yet held only malice towards the one she was looking at, and thanks to her height and angle while on the wyvern, many were unable to see anything below her neck.
Her wyvern flew even higher to the sky before a large magic circle had appeared before countless blades made from ice rained down upon them as the 'cold' woman proclaimed.
"Champion of Ice, Julia, is here to defend these lands against you foul beasts!"
As this happened, one particular person was making their way over the wall as for who... you'll find out in the next chapter~
