Chapter 40 - (I) Pier city situation, His thoughts and status, sucks to be him~

Numerous adventurers and champions made their way to a particular spot, as the pantheons they were under practically demanded that they moved their asses with haste, for every second that they waste increased the chances of the monster that they were hunting would move.

The so-called knowing Mark's location only worked once every 3 months it'd be sooner but the price to pay would be the lives of their believers half the population that worshipped them for every extra scan of the world to find a specific target.

this was one of the reasons why they were so desperate!

their attempts into making him a loyal protector had failed and right now the very being that 'loved' Remishia was unable to find any signs of the halfling.

which brought the question, was she dead or hidden?

The champion of ice and shadows were gravely injured by one of the bone fiends that happened to ruin their plans, including a particular god that was still in a mortal body, his plans of claiming the pier city had been ruined and the woman that he thought would die was currently back at her tavern black and blue but still managed to preserve her strength!

the remnants of the bone fiend that sieged the city all had retreated to the dark corners and sewers remaining out of sight of the occupants of the city that assumed, that this menace that made them suffer so much, them to be exterminated.

It took some time to repair the walls, if would've taken longer if the earth mages didn't offer to help.

there were a good number of people that lost their homes, the constant riots caused by the starving poor, and trouble makers made the streets have another layer of blood and filth cover certain areas.

Many have tried to put a stop to this but after things constantly getting out of control many have decided to stay clear of some areas that were quickly occupied by a certain man with the help of an alchemist.

but let us go back to the main character that was now in a daze looking at a limb that seemed to belong to a bone fiend yet there was no sign of the owner.

He tried to remember what he could, yet all that popped up was blank, no useful information on what had happened when a fellow kinsman landed on him.

there was a piece of cloth stuck between his teeth but he quickly spat that out before deciding what to do next.

he can't stay here since the champions will be after his blood especially when some of his minions had laid waste to a temple meaning that the owner will most definitely be pissed so it'd be a good idea to friggin run to somewhere right about now, but what was holding him back was the reason why he came here.

Mark was trying to get Remishia and to take her along yet the connection that he had with her weakened greatly as if...

Mark shook his head perishing the dreadful thought before assuming that she wasn't in the area anymore.

Such wishful thinking but at least it would help him keep going... even now he pondered to himself.

"Why did he care for her so much?"

was it because it was a good fuck? heh, what a stupid yet possible notion.

Was it because he yearned for companionship..?

He had the talkative silk that can help with that, with a few more stowaways included.

Why was he trying so hard to get her?

A question that plagued him eversince Mark had left her at the tavern yet this question remained unanswered and seemed to drift away every time he focused on it.

*sigh*

A tired sigh slipped out as he had little choice other than to make a run for it, possibly towards that old cave that he used?

no, Mark shook his head at the foolish thought since his enemies had found it before chances of them finding it again was high, he'll have to find another since there was still the issue with the local monsters knowing about it so it'd be better to find another area to lessen his burdens as he moved on all fours still in his beastly form.

Then started running, as fast as he could, all of his injuries had healed, yet another thought whispered to him relating to the mutilated arm that was practically that of a child's alas he quickly swept the thought away pegging it as one of those clones that tried killing him numerous times before.

Only that he had forgotten one thing...

as Mark disappeared into the darkening forest, one little fact remained yet slipped his mind, each clone that he dealt with had always disappeared after dying...

This will be something that he will remember at a later date.

For now, his Skills had grown another level and his current form was aching for something as if he needed to do something soon or he will regret it.

Mark opened up his status to see the changes.

there are some interesting changes his name is no longer set as temporary as his real name seemed to have shown up 'Nidhogg' huh?

Was he related to the thing of myths?

or was his body the real thing?

It was nice and all to be named as such yet if Mark Er Nidhogg remembered correctly that monster Gnawed on the roots of Yggdrasil and was considered a world villain.

Now that he minded the idea of him being the world's enemy in fact he was actually looking forward to it but the question was...

What was his race?

Sure the 'fallen' part showed up but what of the other half?

He certainly wasn't dragonish except for the 'scales' since it was his skill, he didn't have wings unless that was something he would gain later.

So many damned questions, hell he was so distracted that his body destroyed the trees that were in his way before stumbling across a camp of goblins that were a tad bit too aggressive.

Since he was too annoyed, too occupied, and unable to understand what the hell is going on with him...

He decided to vent on these goblins that unknowingly just signed their death warrant when one of their shamans used a fireball spell that it was so proud of only for when it struck the newcomer it quickly dissipated before a moment where everything seemed to have stopped in time in the camp before one goblin within the group spoke in a foreign language.

a fellow reincarnator that had just been born a week before this screamed out in English.

"FFFFFFFUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!"

The certain goblin was pale from fright and he knew better than to try his luck against something like the creature that had appeared in their camp high chance of becoming chop suey by the claws or ground meat under its strength so he tried making a run for it.

Only to bump into a goblin just behind him that fell on its dirty little green ass before that seemed to make time start again

Then the bloody hell descended upon them as Mar- er Nidhogg charged towards the nearest goblin that turned into mushed meat from a punch!

As his gaze fell upon a particular goblin was squealed out in fear as it demanded towards the heavens.

"DAMNIT SHE SAID THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE AN EASY LIFE!!!"
