Chapter 17 - Prophet or Messiah

The elderly woman looked at Indigo in the eye, "The akashic records is a record of all universal events, even demons. War is raging between countries which will lead to the downfall of mankind. We have to reseal the demons corrupting the human minds."

Indigo watched the old woman trembled with anger and seriousness. He took a look at everyone else, and noticed the sadness and anger buried under them. Indigo took a long pause before speaking, "I have foreseen the thirst for blood. An entity walking amongst humans tempting them to spill blood and seeking students to learn its way."

Their faces turned pale, as if what they feared was going to happen.

"That explains why the killing stone split and unsealed the demonic fox. First the plague, now the war, next would be famine and after that deaths." The grandma stated as matter of fact.

Xiaokai replied, "The seal for famine must be near the country at war. It was the same for the seal for war."

"How about the humans blinded by the demons?" Rob asked.

"I don't think we can do anything about it. There is no one strong enough. If there is, it is probably the messiah or a prophet but there are only false messiahs and prophets. We can only trust the system in Indigo for now." Julia replied to everyone telepathically.

"So screw the training?" Rob asked.

"Indigo will have to go to the leylines and hopefully he will survive." Xiao Kai replied.

"Don't I get a say in this?" Indigo questioned.

"No." the rest of the crew replied.

"Okay, fine. There is one thing you guys should know. There are humans aligned with the universe who protects peace on earth and one of them... she is gone, captured or on the run or worse... dead. There are only a handful of them scatter through the world, we have to find them." Indigo replied.

Julia asked, "How do you know these?"

"I retrieved the information from the ley lines." Indigo answered.

"I detected no lies." Julia relayed the message from her mind to the rest.

"Are they prophets?" Xiao Kai asked.

"No... they are something like indigo children..." Indigo replied.

Indigo continued to explain, "Most of them had died once and saw the light. It is through the light they are salvaged and therefore became part of it. I think the best way to describe them is that they embodied the light that chase away the darkness with just their presence. If they choose to turn to the other side, they would lose themselves forever. Similarly, if they die they will leave the world and become part of the afterlife. I guess you can say they are sort of like guardian angels in physical form, except that whatever bad things that will happen to people around them, they sort of stop them from happening and prevent events from coming true. The hold tremendous power like the butterfly that causes hurricane."

"We need all the help we can get against the hordes of demons." Julia continued, "and maybe we can get these indigo children to help."

The elderly woman nodded with a warm smile to the child, "and perhaps we can get through them using the power of social media."

Xiaokai understood the message immediately just like how his deceased parents used to call his name before assigning any menial task to him. "Fine, I'll do it."

"Great, Indigo and I will make an astral trip to the other world to find out the location of the seal. The rest please go to the next nearest ley line."
