Chapter 42 - The First of Seven

The whole thing seemed very suspicious to Idril. But she sensed that pushing Feanor wouldn't yield the results of him spilling the beans. Plus she trusted him. So she nodded.

They danced till the song ended and then went and sat together at lunch with the bride and groom's family.

Idril finished her food was got from the table. Immediately Feanor got up with her too.

'How very gentlemanly of you, Sir.' shr said teasingly.

His eyes crinkled with mirth.

"As always, we aim to please my lady."

Feanor led her to the back of the house. There was a huge garden with a fountain in it. Idril went towards it and sat on the edge.

Feanor went in the corner and after a while the fountain started suddenly. The first sprinkle hit unwary Idril. She squealed and ran away laughing.

Feanor sneaked up behind her and suddenly Idril's feet left the ground. She was unceremoniously being carried over his shoulder.

"What are you doing?" She shouted. "Put me down."

Surprisingly he pur her down. She regained her balance and lookes around her. There was a little canopy under a huge tree. The canopy was made of white billowy fabric which swayed in the breeze. There was also a mattress inside canopy. The whole effect was like a boathouse as you could see the lake from one side and the fountain sitting under the cool shades of the trees. It waa very relaxing.

"Quite a set up." Idril remarked.

"One of my early efforts." Feanor replied. "Glad you like it."

Idril went and sat on the mattress. She patted the space next to her.

Feanor slowly walked towards her, the expression in his eyes sent a delicious tremor up her body.

"Thus starts the first of our seven dates."

"Hmm." Idril replied, jer eyebrows raises slightly. "Now that you have me here, what are you going to do with me?"

"Let's see." Feanor started rummaging something under the mattress. "How about a game of wit and strategy." With that he pulled out a box and handed it over to Idril.

Intrigued, Idril opened the box and laughed.

"Seriously? You want to play a game of chess now?"

"Yes. Why not. But there is a twist."

"Of course there is."

"Everytime one of loses a piece, the one losing the piece will answer one question asked by the other."

"I see. So its chess meets truth and dare, with only tje truth part. Why don't we add the darw part as well?"

"Sure why not? But there are rules of dare." His smile was all crooked. "Dares can only be in terms of kissing."

Idril clocked her head to one side. "Deal. Don't be so cocky darling. I must warn you, I am very good at chess."

Feanor scooted next to her and in a deep voice said, "That's okay. I don't mind losing to you."
