It's a bright sunny day! I am currently running the household and know my husband to be, Duke Claude called me in his studies.
I took a deep breath before knocking the door.
"Duke Claude, you called for me?" I slowly went in the room and there he is, reading a document with his glasses.
He removes his reading glasses like how model do an advertisement on television. Why must he look seductive while removing his glasses?
"Yes, Marissa is going to visit us. I already told you about my issue and I hope you would cooperate with me when that time comes."
I sat on the couch and poured a cup of tea. "Marissa, what does she look like?" I asked.
"Her beauty is stunning, angelic on the outside but a devil in the inside if I were to describe her." He stood up and suddenly went near me.
Oh my gosh! His face is so near me! He smells good though.
"Duke?"
"Calla I--"
The door suddenly knocked down by a child?
"Claude my loves I'm--" Her eyes widen when she saw us. Well? Our position is quite awkward. I am sitting down with tea on my hand while Duke Claude's face is near mine and it looks like he is about to kiss me. "Who is this whore!?" She raised her voice.
"Marissa!" Duke Claude gave her a warning tone. "This is my wife to be, Calla Victoria Antonette-Hamilton."
I drank my tea while glaring at Marissa. She dared called me a whore!? You want war, I'll give you one.
Marissa gritted his teeth as she looked at me. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Calla."
I sat still and just drinking my tea. I could feel her fury.
"How rude of you!? I am greeting you, yet you didn't even say a single thing! Have some respect!!"
I slumped the teacup on the table. "Respect? After calling me a whore!? Do you really think that you deserve my respect!?" I stood up and walk towards her. She's shorter than me.
"Do you know who I am?" Marissa arrogantly asked. "I am Marissa Dale, daughter of Earl Gavino Dale!"
I laughed at her. Marissa was nothing compare to my status. She's merely a daughter of a hero who has been bankrupt but still has a title. Of course, Marissa did not know that the whole country did not know that because the family still act as if they are rich since it is said that Marissa is the chosen one.
"Do you know who I am, Lady Marissa?" I gently put my teacup on the table and looked straight at this woman eyes. I want her to fear me. After all, I am originally the villain of this story, not her.
Claude clears his throat and took my hand. '"She is the Daughter of Duke John William Aaron Hamilton, 10th Duke of Hamilton and 5th Duke of Bardon and Princess Sophia Marie of Telbia."
Marissa's eyes widen once more. Who wouldn't? My parents are legends! After all, they are the real heroes. Earl Gavino was their assistant. She points a finger to me. It is a sign of disrespect yet this woman dares to get on my bad side! "You! You..."
I swore, I saw Duke Claude grinned for a second but then he turned into an iceberg. "Enough! You have disrespected my Fiancee and I will not tolerate this! I wanted to save you from humiliation for your father's honor!"
"Du-Duke Claude! I...I..."
Duke Claude suddenly hold my hands tightly and we both left the room, leaving Marissa frozen.
"Duke Claude?" I called him. Him, dragging me away with my heels on hurts. "My feet hurt. Can we stop for a while?" I asked.
"I'm sorry." We stopped walking but his big hands wrap around mine. "What you did was good, Calla."
He turns around and gave me an angelic smile. "I'm glad you're my fiancee."
What's this? My heart beats fast! Oh! Maybe because we walked too fast before.
I cleared my throat and looked away. "I...I am just doing what you have told me to do. Now, I must be going now, Duke Claude. "
I walked away from him and did not look back for I am afraid to see his reaction.
