Hours have gone by but there was no sign of Claude yet. The weather is quite bad. I hope he and the others are safe.
Father, Mother, and Philip have been comforting me that Claude is going to be fine. I kept saying that I will only be in relief when I see him personally.
"Calla! There they are!" Philip shouts as he points a group of people.
I threw the blanket that I used to warm myself and ran in front of the gate. I did not mind getting wet or get sick.
"Calla! Wait! You'll get sick!"
Five of the knights that are from the house of Lennox are wounded but walks fine. My eyes kept searching for Claude and there I saw the knights who helped me earlier, supporting Claude as he walks. He was paled and barely standing.
"Get the doctors! Quick!" I asked.
"Milady, we have been outnumbered. Forgi-"
"I don't care! Explain later! We must get them inside now!"
We carried Claude to a room. "Where is the Doctor!?" I shouted. Mother, Father, and Philip are taking care of the others who have minor injuries.
"Lady Calla, Doctor Gorgonio has a fever."
"Are there no other doctors in here!? Call someone from the town!"
"Lady Calla, the road is slippery and lots of people had an accident recently."
I felt a cold hand on mine. "Cal...Calla." Claude weakly whispers.
"Claude! Stay with me!"
Damn it! Damn it! Claude has lost too many bloods! His wound is too big and a bit deep. Okay, Calla! Calm down! you were a registered nurse for 5 years. You went through nursing before becoming a Med Student. Calm down! You are just out of practice! You can do this! But wait! There is no hydrogen peroxide in this era, they still don't know what was that plus it's only for minor wounds. I need to stop the bleeding.
"Bring me clean warm water, a clean cloth, and a soap! Now!" It didn't take that long and they gave me what I need.
First, I cleaned my hands to avoid infection and used the cloth to stop the bleeding. I gently put pressure with a clean cloth and elevate the wound.
What can I use to disinfect his wounds? Dummy! Think! You read this somewhere! Wine! I need wine or honey!
"Do we have honey?"

I have no choice then!
"Bring me a bottle of wine!" I shouted. A maid panicked went out of the room and came back with a bottle of wine and a glass. I poured the glass and tasted the wine. It's sour. Perfect! It can be used as a disinfectant. When I saw that bleeding has stopped.
"Claude, forgive me for doing this." I put another cloth on his mouth and pour the win on his wound. He groans from the pain. It also pains me that he has to go through this. He just saved my sorry ass today. Because of fear and panic, I forgot that I could fight. I am such a coward.
I took another clean cloth to cover the wound. I bandaged it and it was done. I need to stay by his side though. I did not notice that he already slept. I'll have to check him now. He might get a fever.
I looked at his handsome face and wipe out his sweat. "You are going to be fine, Claude. I promise you."
