Okay, so, after all that, there's no way this guy is not at least brutally hurt. Not even black steel enhanced with mana could hold up against all of that. Hell, I doubt someone with defence in the three hundred's could survive something like that. However, life is never so kind.
As the dust settles, both mine and this mystery individual's eyes met. It seems both his spell and mask had broken during the attack. He had a pair of pitch-black eyes, ones that despite his former calm attitude, were now filled with anger. He had just as black hair as dark were his eyes, as well, his hair was exceptionally unkempt. Although, that's not exceptionally uncommon in this world.
While I did assume this individual was male, they have quite the androgynous face. It doesn't really matter though, with the spell down, I doubt this will last much longer. Considering the spell's durability, the spell most likely exhausted a large amount of mana.
But, despite that, they seem just as angry as ever.
"You insolent, revolting, brats! You dare to destroy the mask the leader personally gifted to me..." They covered the more injured part of their face with their left hand, becoming silent for a moment, "I'll kill you all!"
"Metal Magic: Steel Spears!" And now, erupting from the ground were spikes of incredibly sharp pieces of regular steel, obviously intended for piercing. It seems that spell before was merely them playing with us, but they obviously never thought we would actually destroy it.
At an astonishingly quick speed, the spikes hurled toward the three of us. Specifically, there were twelve 'spears' in total, meaning four were racing towards each of us.
With not a lot of time left to react, I started casting a spell, "Water Magic: Water Barrier."
The moment I finished my words, a sphere of water enchanted with extra mana for extra durability surrounded the three of us. Luckily for us, the attack sent our opponent, with lack of better words, flying away from the three of us into a wall, more specifically the stained glass. So, they were far enough away from us to not be enclosed by the spell as well.
The steel spears collided with the sphere of water, not managing to completely pierce through my spell. Although, that was incredibly close. It probably won't be able to withstand another blow like that. It's a good thing their mana has to be low by now, while mine is still about half capacity.
"Light Magic: Light Spears." While they were preoccupied recasting the spell, I sent out another one of my own, spears of light that are exceptionally fast, meaning they'll be difficult to dodge, even at this range.
The interesting thing about Water Inclosure is that while attacks from the outside cannot pierce through with ease, ones from the inside can pass through with ease. That, by the way, includes the people inside.
"Togeshi, come with me and keep constant attack on them. Akane, stay in here and provide support for both of us." And with that, I ran out of the sphere of water in order to close the distance.
"Alright!" With a grin, Togeshi went to follow me, although, he's much faster than me. Akane only nodded, but she seemed confident enough. It's nice to see they've both managed to become accustomed to this.
Back on to the topic of the cultist, he managed to dodge the majority of the fifteen light spears I cast, but two hit their target. They hit their right arm, one pierced it all the way through, and one only grazed them.
Togeshi reached them first, attempting to strike their stomach.
"Metal Magic: Iron Wall!" They cast another spell, an almost foot wide wall of iron appearing from the ground, protecting him from Togeshi's first hit.
I, however, had caught up and was on the direct other side of the cultist, meaning it would be easy to attack them with any of my available moves. But, with my sword in its sheath now, it would be easier to just attack with my body.
So, I went for a kick, for the bottom of their jaw, more specifically. Fortunately for me, it connected, knocking them back a fair bit and at least hurting them a bit.
And while they were recovering, Akane cast another spell, pushing them up into the air. While that was happening, Togeshi hit them back into the ground with both of his gauntlets clenched into fists. Not to be overconfident, or anything, but even if they are exceptionally strong, when it comes to teamwork, the three of us could beat almost anybody.
Next, Akane cast another wind spell, knocking them back into the wall, keeping them there.
With that, Togeshi began to activate 'Charged Strike' once again, close enough that he was but half a meter away. I'd rather not kill this guy, so I guess I won't use my sword.
Now, once more, I use both 'Physical Boost' and 'Defense Boost' in order to increase my brute physical strength and counteract the side effects of over-exerting my body by increasing my defence.
And now, to attack.
...
"Now, that is quite enough."
I wasn't able to see it at all, no, I wasn't even able to sense it. Something, or really, someone appeared in front of the cultist. I, and seemingly both Akane and Togeshi, couldn't move an inch. I couldn't speak, nor could I move my eyes to see who the person that appeared was.
"L-leader...?" The one we were fighting stuttered, obviously quite frightened.
"Hm... troublesome. You three summoned heroes, I would rather you not interfere any longer. Farewell."
And so, he, and the cultist, disappeared.
