They spoke for a long time about the news. The conversation went on into the day until they had gone through the entirety of the documents.
"That is all Capt'n," He said, "About your story, when shall it be organized?"
"Have it scheduled in two days," He said as his advisor got up, "How is the marriage getting along?"
"The marriage planner finished the planning of how the ceremony will happen and she had the rings made, gold."
"Okay," He said as he blew smoke, "When can we announce it?"
"Probably in a two or three days, I will tell you when we can," He said as he bowed, "This would probably be when the marriage planner has everything done, and apparently there is no marriage asked in the next week, so you will not kick anyone out."
"Very well," He said as he took another puff, "See you later."
"Have a good day Capt'n."
Hugo got up and walked back into the house. Cassidy was lying on her stomach with a cigarette in her mouth. She was drawing. She hadn't noticed him. He walked over to the bed and sat down putting his hand on her lower back. She jumped in surprise, placing her hand on her heart. She dropped her cigarette. He picked it up and threw it into the ash tray near the bed. She rolled onto her side and took his and put it to her lips and gently shook her head.
"Did you have to scare me?"
"I didn't know you liked to draw," He said as he picked up the book she was drawing in, "Nice drawings, wait, are all drawings of me?"
"Give that back!" She said as she grabbed the book from his hands, "Don't look at them, they are mine, they are private."
"Sorry," He said as he kissed her cheek, "When did you draw these?"
"I started ever since you started seeing me, that is how I fill my days."
"How sweet," Hugo said as he passed his hand in her hair, "I like them."
"Thanks," She said shyly, she pressed the book against her chest, "But please don't look through it, unless I tell you you can."
He rolled her onto her back and moved over her, "Whatever you say, my lady," He said as he began kissing her neck and playing with her chest.
"Stop! You keep doing that," She said pushing him away, "Unless you want to start right now..."
"I have nothing planned today," He said with a cunning smile, "Maybe we could start earlier, but that means nothing tonight."
"Why do you always do that?" She said, "You make me wet and just leave me? Why do you do that?"
"To make you crave me," He whispered into her ear, "What do you want then?"
"I don't know, can't we do both?"
"Tomorrow, I will be leaving to the entrance of Equinox's domain," He said, "I might be gone for an entire day."
"You, you, you will be gone, gone for the entire, entire," She gulped as she sat up, "The entire day?"
"Don't worry, I will tell my adviser to have two guards set up at the bottom of the path, and I will leave after he comes over in the morning."
"Okay," She was sweating and gently trembling, "I would like that."
"Don't worry," He said softly as she held him tightly, "Don't worry, you'll be fine, you'll be fine," She leaned her head onto his shoulder, she held her arm around him. She closed her eyes as a tear ran down her cheek. He wiped it off her cheek, he sighed. She is so terrified of being alone, but I can't leave a disruption in Equinox's domain continue, the people would lose hope in my capabilities. I just have to remember not to touch him, I don't need any gift of his, that virus is not something I need now. She held him for a long time.
"Do you have to leave?"
"Yes," He sighed, "I wish I could stay with you but Equinox was disturbed and he is the only reason our seas have stayed alive and the only reason we still stand on this island, you understand that, right?"
"Yes," She said, "But once it's over come back as soon as you can."
"Don't worry, I'll come back to see you," If I even make it out of there.
"There are stories of that place," She started.
"I know," He said, "I've been there once before, his prison is a death chamber for any creature, he is dormant normally but something woke him, when he moves, he causes disruptions in the seas, I need to go figure out the problem."
"You've been there?" She looked up at him surprised, "How did you make it out?"
"I didn't enter it completely, I swam down with Sevinor's aid and looked at him."
"How does he look? Everyone knows his name but no one know how he looks."
"He is a rainbow ray."
"A rainbow ray? But they are tiny, he can't be."
"He is a giant one."
"Let's stop talking about it," She said as she kissed him, "You are worrying me."
"Sorry."
"What time is it?"
"I don't know, the sun is setting, maybe you are hungry?"
"How did you guess? Can you get-," She cut herself off, "No, actually I am not that hungry."
"You can't let fear consume you, I won't be far," He said, "I'll lock the door, don't worry, I'll be back very soon," He kissed her and got up. He put on his coat and walked to the door. He looked back at her. She had opened her book and started drawing. He laughed quietly and left the house. He locked the door and put the key back on his belt. He walked down the path. The sun was setting. This day went by so fast, I wonder if all my days are like this. I should be getting to the tavern to get food and get back home soon. He returned to reality and was at the bottom of the path. He threw his cigarette into one of the rain paths of the street. He walked into the tavern. The men stood when they saw him and he saluted them, they saluted back. He walked over to the bar counter.
"What shall it be Capt'n?"
"Seafood for 2 for takeaway, and a glass of blood kelp."
"Here is your glass," The bartender said as she left him to get the food. He sat and took a drink from his glass. One of his men sat next to him.
"Oie, Capt'n, you weren't at the feast yesterday," He said as he took a drink from his wooden glass, "Where were you?"
"I had work to do on the war policy," He said, "Urgently."
"Come on Capt'n, what were you really doing?"
"I told you," Hugo answered taking another drink from his glass, "I was working to keep this empire afloat."
"Sure, sure," The man said, "Come on, one of my daughters told me you had your eye on someone."
"She did? Well, it isn't on her for sure," He said as he took another drink, "How old is she?"
"18, why?"
"Too young for me," He chuckled, "That's all."
"What does that mean?"
"The person I have my eye on is one, younger than me, and two, older that your daughter," He said as the bartender came back and placed the box in front of him, "Here you go," Hugo said as he pushed a small pile of coins across the counter and downed his drink, and turned to the man who was next to him, "Have a good evening."
"You too, Capt'n."
He walked out of the tavern and headed up the path. He slowed down before reaching his house. Nothing, She is probably fine. He walked to the door and unlocked it. He opened the door and saw Cassidy, lying on her stomach with her book, drawing. He put the box on the table and opened the box. He turned around and closed the door. He put the plate in the middle of the table. He looked over at her and noticed that she hadn't noticed him. He walked over to her side and looked at her drawing. Drawing me again? She was drawing him. She had a two sides of him and one side was a angelic like version of him, and on the other, it was him with his back turned and his head gently looking over his right shoulder, it was darker and less clear. He gently sat down next to her, she still didn't notice him. He walked his fingers up her body starting at her thighs. She moved her head up and slowly rolled onto her back.
"Hungry?"
"I didn't notice you," She said as she closed her book, "You scared me."
"Sorry," He said, "So, are you hungry?"
"Yeah actually," She said as she got up and stretched, "What did you get?"
"Sit down and you'll see," Hugo said as he got up and pulled the chair for her, "Take a seat."
"Thank you," She said as she sat down, "Seafood, how did you guess?"
"I don't know, maybe that it is your favorite?"
"I guess you're right," She said, "Let's begin?"
"Sure," He said as she took a bit of food, "What was that drawing about?"
"What drawing?" She looked up as if she was clueless.
"The one with the light and the dark me, I like it but I don't understand why you portrayed me as angelic and then demonic."
"That is how I see you," She said smiling, Hugo lifted his left eyebrow, "You know, mysterious and intriguing. I like that, I never know what to expect with you."
"Oh, that is what you meant by the dark and the light, that you know part of me but not the other part."
"Yeah, but please stop looking at my drawings over my shoulder."
"Sorry, I just found it interesting how you didn't notice me for 5 minutes, before I touched you."
"Yeah," She said as she scratched the back of her head, "I was really into my drawing, that was a weird way to call my attention, walking your hand up my leg."
"Well, it wasn't like I called your name when I entered the house."
"Did you really?"
"No," He laughed as he took some food from the plate, "I noticed you and I didn't say anything, I didn't want to distract you until I have set the table, you know, to give you a little more time to draw me."
"Okay, I know that it is a little creepy that I draw you and only you but, can you just not bring it up, like I try to clear my mind and just draw."
"Clearly your mind is filled with just my image," He laughed as he took a drink, "Besides, I kinda like it, the drawings are really good."
"Thanks," She blushed.
"You are blushing," He nagged, "Did you like that compliment?"
"Yes, I did," She said as she covered her cheeks, "Am I really blushing?"
"Yeah," He said, "You should eat something, unless you aren't hungry and in that case, I'll be glad to eat all of it."
"You wish," She said as she took a shrimp off the plate, "Anything special at the tavern?"
"Actually, one of the men asked me about what I was doing last night, and why I missed the festival."
"What did you tell him?"
"I said that I was taking care of some work," Hugo answered, "Then he told me that his daughter told him that I had my eye on someone, I told him that I did, but I didn't say who."
"He would have laughed if he did."
"Probably not, he wasn't drunk so the respect was still there," Hugo said as he took a drink, "I am the leader here."
"Maybe you could be my leader tonight?" She said as she got up and walked around the table towards him and took off her shirt, Hugo stayed in his chair looking up at her, "Enjoying the view?" She was just in bra and underwear.
"Can't say I ain't," He said, "Sit down," He patted his lap. She sat down sideways on his lap, "No, like this," he said as he lifted her and sat her down looking towards him with her legs spread and pushed her head towards his and locked her in a kiss. She moved her hands behind him and pulled him closer. He moved his hands up and down her body, she broke away from the kiss and moaned softly. Hugo moved his hand to her back and undid her bra. He took it off her. She move him back and pulled off his shirt. He helped her and threw it to the floor. She moved to kiss him and locked her legs around him. He got up and put his arms under her, holding her up. Her facial expression changed.
"Don't you dare drop m-," She whispered before being cut off as Hugo pulled her into a kiss. He carried her onto the bed laid her down below him.
"Want to have fun?" He whispered, "Maybe a little overdrive, what do you think?"
"Yes," She moaned as he played with her body, "But remember to hold me down."
"Don't worry, seeing your body jolt and lurch waiting for pleasure is something amazing."
"You love it, don't you?" She nagged him, "Now, just get on with it," She pushed him off her and he went to the chest under the bed. He took a key from his belt and opened the chest. He took another key and opened the sealed jar. He pulled out a pill and placed it in the palm of his hand and climbed back on the bed. He leaned over her.
"The rough way? Or the playful way?"
"The rough w-," She whispered back to him before he turned her onto her stomach and pulled her hair back and put his hand over her nose and mouth, placing the pill on her lips. Her chest violently sucked in as she looked for air. He let her breathe and she breathe heavily, taking in the pill.
"I didn't think you would do that," She said gasping for air and Hugo pushed her down against the bed.
"You wanted the rough way," He whispered into her ear, "Just brace yourself for the pain."
"Don't you dare let me go. I swear to the creator, if you-," She cut herself off as her body lurched beneath him. He pushed down on her, holding her against the bed. Her face changed to show the unbearable pain she felt as she lost control of her body.
"This is your choice," Hugo whispered into her ear, "It will be worth it."
She didn't respond and violently jolted under him. She was sweating and breathing heavily. Her face strained violently as her body jolted once again, she let out a small cry of pain.
"Shh, this isn't overdrive," He whispered, "It's better."
"What," She lurched under him once again, "The fuck did you give m-."
He made her shut up by kissing her. Her body stopped moving, her heart was racing, she was already sweating, she breathed heavily. She made her mouth open grasping for air.
"What the fuck was that?" She said, "I feel so weird, what pill was that?"
"Shh," He said as he put his finger in front of her mouth, "Endurance is something you lack, this will help."
