The sun was rising. He awoke with Cassidy lying next to him. She was breathing heavily. She did better than she normally does. He sat up on the side of the bed. Today, I return to the prison I escaped once before. He took a drink. He put on his pants and his belt. He stood up and cracked his back. I think she overdid herself, even if it does help you, it isn't a miracle pill. He walked over to the window. Today, I enter hell without knowing if I'll exit, and if I do, I won't be the same. He took another drink, he walked over to the closet and pulled out a small chest and placed it on the table. He unlocked it. The chest contained a gun, a revolver like his but it also contained 18 bullet, three rows of six. The gun's barrel and drum were black and the hammer was golden, the grip was black. He took it out of its cushion and held it out in front of him looking down the sights. He flicked open the drum and loaded six rounds into it. The two first ones had glass tops with small needles under them attached to a small metal container. He loaded two other rounds into the drum, once again they had a glass cover to them. They were small steel drill-like pellets. He spun the drum and found the two last empty spaces. He pulled out two other rounds, he loaded them in. They had a steel point on the end and had a small cylinder under them. He spun the drum and lined up the first one with the correct round. He put it on his belt. He locked the chest and put it back in the closet. He took out his other revolver and tossed it on the table. No use underwater, powder won't light. A knock came to the door. He answered it. He was met by his advisor, they walked over to the table and sat down and he put a folder on the table.
"Anything special?" Hugo said, "If there is nothing special, I have some work to do."
"May I ask what it is?"
"Equinox's disruption," He said, "I will enter his prison and see for myself."
Hugo got up and took another drink. He pushed open the door. Fuck, she is still asleep, I'll leave her a message in her book. He grabbed her book and a pencil and wrote a message: I hope that you had fun yesterday, I'll come back, don't worry about that. He closed the book and put it on the table next to the bed and kissed her cheek. He walked towards the door and opened the door. He looked back and sighed. Maybe I will have the luck to see that beautiful body once more. He left and closed the door, locking it behind him. He walked down the path. The street was only starting awake. He walked down to the port, silently, only saluting the people who noticed him. Most were busy setting up their stands and getting ready for the morning market. He arrived at the port and took a drink from his bottle. He left the bottle on the edge of the stone path that overlooked the water. He got up and dived in. He was silent, he was going to enter the gateway to hell and it would corrupt him, but he felt that he had to do it to protect his people. He turned on the motor on his suit and sped through the water heading away from the port. Who knows what will happen, hell, I could become a god and not die at all. He headed past Gialis' domain and quickly entered Beromoth's domain. Beromoth was gently and slowly swimming at the surface of the water, Hugo past him without calling his attention. Equinox's gate was at the south west of the island, it was a small tunnel that lead into a massive room below the island that held him captive. He didn't move, if he did he would destroy the island and the seas around it. Hugo soon arrived in front of the small pitch black entrance. He swam to the surface. Fuck it, here goes nothing. He dived under the water and entered the tunnel. It was pitch black aside from the glowing plankton that floated in the path, they were the only life form that approached Equinox, nothing else dared to approach him. He continued down the dark path until he arrived at a turn. It was illuminated in a large array of colors, to colors of the rainbow, he was getting closer. The tunnel grew narrower, the pressure rose making it hard for him to take in the air bubbles that he found in the tunnel, the heat rose as well. He soon arrived at the end of the path. He overlooked Equinox's chamber. Equinox's colossal body was curled up in the middle. He turned off his suit and hopped down from the tunnel, and drifted down to the rocky floor of the chamber. His scales glowed in an array of colors with such intensity that it made Hugo squint. He walked towards him. He looked around. Nothing seemed to have disturbed him. He felt the ground shake and he turned back and saw the tunnel had been sealed. Well, now what? He pulled out his gun and shot the needle into his arm. Fuck, I hope it works. He removed the metal needle, then a voice came into his head.
"Why are you down here?" Hugo looked around, "I almost forgot, you can't speak underwater, follow this line in the sand and when it ends push yourself straight up, we will speak in the air bubble chamber above Equinox."
Hugo looked around at the ground and saw a small line being created in the sand. He walked along the floor of the chamber, following the line that was being created in the sand. He began swimming as the line kept going along the massive chamber's seabed. The line suddenly stopped. Hugo looked upwards and pushed off the floor and swam upwards. He began to run out of air. He swam faster up and soon his head was out of water. He looked around confused, He climbed out of the water and found himself in a room. He looked around, it was a small room that was above Equinox's chamber. He had never seen this.
"Hugo, it's been a long time," Hugo turned to face a man sitting on a stone seat in the corner of the room.
"Who are you? How did you get here?"
"You fear this place, why?" The man said, "I have been looking over you for the past 42 years."
"Who are you?"
"I am the God of Evil, Jarvan the Third," He said, "I was looking for a reason to get you down here, so I caused a disruption in Equinox's peaceful slumber."
"Why? Are you crazy? Do you want to kill my people?"
"Don't waste your breath," Jarvan said as he got up and stood in front of him, "You have 10 minutes of air, I don't need air, you do."
"Who are you exactly?"
"I am the reason you were born in Terruna, not Runatra, I am the reason why you had to suffer from Cassidy's problems, I once gave the information to the Noxian about your first marriage, and where she would be," A wicked smile grew on his face, "But don't worry, I hold no grudge to you or Cassidy."
"You son of a bitch, what do you want?"
"Being a god can be boring, I am not allowed to intervene in your realm personally but I can twist events by helping the people in the realms, but I have be prohibited to help the four larger empires, so I came to make an offer that I don't think you can refuse."
"Then speak," Hugo said sounding annoyed, "You brought me here for a reason."
"I came to make a deal with you," Jarvan said as he walked around the room, "Let's say I haven't received my quota of souls through the gates to the creator's realm and I am not allowed to help the major empires."
"Then what do I have to do in all of this?"
"I want you to stop you warring policy and allow more Noxian raids," Jarvan explained, "That is all."
"Are you fucking crazy?! What do I get from this?"
"I don't know, I could be cruel but there wouldn't be enough deaths," Jarvan said as he paced around Hugo, "Have you ever dreamed of being a god? Well, not a god, but having godly powers, you know what I mean."
"Can't say I haven't, but what do you intend on doing?"
"I used to be a god among men, an ascended one, I possessed immense powers, but as a god they are near pointless so maybe, hypothetically, I could curse you, giving you the powers that I once possessed, of course, this or you die in here by suffocation, your choice."
"What powers did you have?"
"Enough to wipe out this world and challenge the creator," He laughed, "I could morph the terrain around me, I controlled the elements, I could enter someone's mind, things like that, the 'evil' powers, the one that don't save lives, the ones that take lives. So do you accept?"
"I don't really have a choice," Hugo sighed, "I guess I have to accept it."
"Good choice, here," He held out an amulet, "This is the token that encloses the powers I promised you, but I must warn you, if these powers will only be able to activate while the amulet is on you, and only you, if another person puts it on, nothing will happen."
"Now how do I get to the surface?"
"We gods travel through realms with inter-dimensional doors, or portals if you want, I can make you one, it will get you to the surface, in your house, you should get there in time to see Cassidy, in a nightmare, maybe you can deal with it," Jarvan said, "And it is the 17th of Agorst for you, when you exit of course."
"Thanks, but what do you mean but maybe I can deal with it?" The portal was opened in front of him, but Jarvan had disappeared. Might as well trust him. He walked through the portal, with the amulet around his neck.
He arrived in a dark room. Home. He walked towards the bed. Cassidy was there, lying on the bed, alone. He placed his hand on her hand. She was sweating, she violently turned onto her side. She twisted and turned in the bed. Maybe he meant I could fix it, but how? He put his hand on her shoulder. He placed his hand on her chest and he blacked out.
