Chapter 15 - Step toward Lvl 10

"You need 5 more hits!"

With that shout from his companion, a crossbowman shot another 5 projectiles and successfully killed a wolf.

He tried his best to always be on the move. He couldn't relax as the 2 remaining wolves were still chasing him coordinatively.

"Let me aggro the other for you!"

A guy in glasses came out from his hiding place and threw a nearby stone to one of them. The wolf was able to reflexively dodge and change its target to the stone-thrower.

The crossbowman was surprised a bit after hearing the call but still regained his composure. He made a steady stance after he heard the signal. He was facing the upcoming wolf while still shooting projectiles.

As it came closer and closer, he was side-stepping with a close call and aimed the crossbow precisely at its abdomen.

Spread Shots.

Simultaneous projectiles come out of the crossbow and hit it directly from a zero distance.

"Hey! Run to me!" He signaled his ally.

"Wawawawawa-"

The crossbowman easily got the free shots while watching his ally run for his life.

"Heroic leap!"

His ally who already so close to him was reflexively jumping for his life.

A smirk appeared in the corner of his lips as he dealt the finishing blow.

"You did a great job!"

The guy with glasses was still trying to catch his breath while looking at the crossbowman praising him.

"Ah yeah, thank you."

"You can't hold back your instinct, right?"

He was shocked by the crossbowman's surprise call.

"What do you mean? No, I don't get what you mean."

"Yea.. yea. I don't know why were you trying to hide it, but it is obvious from my point of view. You can't make that precise judgment only by having appraisal skills, though. And you also calculate my 'spread shot' cooldown."

"..."

He was not giving any response to it.

"Don't mind it, you can always have a secret. Just make the best decision like before. You can't hide your instinct anyway." The crossbowman talked to him with a grin.

"I also discover your secret anyway, don't bother trying to shackle me with those kinds of thing."

"Me as an Inventor? I am not trying to hide it at all by the way."

He talked nonchalantly while transforming his crossbow to its 'core' form. The tube.

"Hmph!"

"Well, as we are at this kind of topic, don't you want to know another secret?"

"Don't bother trying to scam me."

"No, no. It's regarding the easter egg. And with this method, I might get to Lvl 10 and join the trial faster."

"!?"

The glasses guy was shocked by the proposal and began to think deeply on his mind.

"You can decide it later while we hunt. Don't be so hasty. Ah for the reminder, it has a 50:50 chance too. Let's get going, I have recovered most of my energy."

"Wait, can you tell me the reason? Why did you reveal this?"

"You know what, I only reveal this to you even after the 2 Lvl hunt, solely because of your latest action. It's not because of your way of working with me without asking me any credit or coin drop."

The crossbowman answered him with a grin.

His face had become so red of embarrassment. He had caught red-handed.

"Umm okay, let's properly introduce ourselves. My in-game name is Avia. I took the civilian path and choose a path of Linker, an Appraiser."

"I am Arceede. You can call me Ar. The first to discover an easter egg maybe? And also the first to unlock a brand new adventurer class. Ah also with the new path. Named Inventor from a path of Core. I can give you a detailed explanation later."

"Geez." Avia was just responding to him with a face full of disdain.

"Haha, sorry for that. Let's go out of the forest, my plan will be better done without those pack of wolves. Actually, I still have some minor trauma from them."

Shudder.

-------------------------------

"Huft, Lvl 9! I might be a big spender but it was definitely worth it. Brother won't even angry at me right?" He asked a horned nose wolf beside him.

"Based on 'my brother's' character you've been told me earlier. It should be fine. Those 10 golds investment is what keeps you alive."

"Yeah, true. 1 more level and I should look for a decent party."

"Don't need to be so hasty."

"I know. Come back, En. I will be going to look for a crowd and showing off here and there."

Nodded.

The spirit wolf started to disappear while gradually move towards the elf's chest.

He was walking through the path on the plain. There were some people looking for party members here and there. Most of them had a similar purpose. Preparation for the Lvl 10 trial.

The information had spread out here and there. There were two different points between adventurer and civilian on this first day of the game.

Civilians have been so focused on raising their class Lvl and guild contribution. Based on the progress they have shown to the outside world, the civilians would have to focus and maintain their sanity in the beginner village.

Adventurers, on the other hand, have been busy grinding for Lvl and coin drop from monsters. And now in this current time, most people in this western part of the village, especially this plain, have about Lvl 8 or 9. Compared to the eastern part of the village who had similar terrain, this place had a more beginner-friendly environment.

The eastern area was already being called the nightmare area.

'Don't ever dare to go to the eastern forest! Unless you are a masochist!'

That was what people said in that area. And so, Viro didn't dare to try that high-risk area. Well, he was not a masochist either, an unfamiliar word he just knew from asking Ensne, his AI, and also his summoned monster.

The western area was maybe more boring difficulty-wise. Well, unless you were a battle maniac, you wouldn't say that easily. At least, it had various species inhabited compared to the eastern area.

The main population, deer, rabbit, bison, and various birds were still doable prey for the 'players'

Birds were tricky, they might also come in a flock. But for someone like Viro who has bought second skills from the merchant, it was an easy feat.

The second skill he picked and bought from the merchant with a cost of 10 gold was another basic 'Mystic' skills, 'Chain Lightning'.

With 'Ice Spike' and Ensne with its 'Fire Cleave', he had 3 spells in his arsenal.

'The first impression is important Vi! I am right here, coming out from a deeper part of the Bison area, and walking relaxedly. That should be enough!'

"Hey, you there!"

?

"Yes, you blonde Elf with a staff!"

'Wow speaking of the devil!'
