"Is it really okay for me to keep the drops?"
"Sure. You can circulate it better than me."
"No, I mean, this magic crossbow. Don't you want better gear?"
"Nah. We still need to go deeper before I could find a better weapon than this." Arceede said while pointing at his current weapon.
Both of them have cleared a wave of goblin and gained some loots from the humanoid monsters.
These were their first monsters drops that don't give them mere coins. There were appraisal stones and one magic crossbow in addition to the coins
Appraisal stones drop matched the information they got from killing humanoid monsters.
The random chance of weapon drops would also be the resources needed to connected both adventurer and civilian classes.
In the Avia-Arceede's party case, rather than using the appraisal stone to appraised the weapon drops, Avia could freely use his skill while also increasing the Lvl.
One should know that apart from beginner (starter) weapon, players need to appraised a weapon before knowing its stats.
"Do you want to try appraising the next gear drops with appraisal stone?"
"We should gather more before making the experiment. We only have 4 now- Umm.. wait, it doesn't matter actually. You should just sell it."
"Ah right, I just realized it too."
"Let's continue, my energy isn't used that much anyway. It's a shame that our first drop is a magic weapon, though."
"What do you mean?"
"You can help better with some weapon."
"Ah, of course! I missed that. I should've bought a weapon then."
There was a slight frustration after realizing the mistake, but they still continued to go deeper.
The dungeon wasn't that difficult, environment-wise. Based on the previous game, what made hunting more difficult other than the mob's complex moves, was the environment.
It was also reasonable for this dungeon to have a simple terrain. It was still at an early stage of the game after all.
Both of them still walking through the alley of the cave and saw some silhouette rushing toward them.
"Careful! Another wave."
"Sure! Go hide."
"5! It should be as easy as before."
"No, this is narrower than the previous wave. And I think, it will be several times harder."
!
The last encounter was as difficult as the fight with wolves. Wolves' fearless tenacity made them the nightmare of the eastern area.
The green humanoid creature, on the other hand, had a better strategy and formation.
It looked like this dungeon gave a basic party tutorial to newbies. Although in this case, you might be killed before learning that much.
The 5 goblins they've met, although could be swept easily by these 'two-big-guild's-scouts', might be a new nightmare for another newbie party.
They weren't scary looking. Or rather, with this cartoonish style the game gave, they were.. cute?
At the least, these goblin formations would be able to give them a nice slap on their butt.
Frontline-middle line-backline. The basic foundation of the party. It could be altered in many ways depending on the composition, but it worked along the line.
The new encounter in front of them was more advanced.
"The assassins have gone hiding."
Yes, true. Assassin. Party with assassin would have 1 member less than others in a confrontation, but the opposing would be more careful with their move. This was because of the assassin's special role: Flank.
"Don't mind me, just focus on the front."
Flank was a common role for any assassins in the RPG game. They would be targeting the backline of the party. This was common knowledge for a gamer.
During the previous encounter, they could split some attention from the goblin party while Avia took some aggro. He was quite agile to lure 3 of the goblins away while Arceede killing the other 2.
This time, they were being distracted by the hiding assassin. Arceede had to fight 4 of the coordinated goblins. He wasn't worried about Avia, but he was more concerned about himself now.
Avia, the first time they met, was a clumsy and awkward-looking guy. But, after they spent some time at a party, his mysterious background and attitudes seemed to become stronger.
Arceede had a presumption that he might be an expert from the previous game. Thus, it will answer a decent ability.
For the reason and his background he tried to hide, Arceede had no plan to dwell more on it.
"The one in problem is me. I am not that confident against four."
Goblin's party began their attack. It was a composition of 1 warrior using a sword and 1 wield a dagger on the front, and 2 archers on the back.
Khiiii!
While the two frontlines switched their timing of attacks. The two archers filled the open spot. They were distracting his line of movement.
"Are you okay?"
The advantage of him using a crossbow was that he could still attack while dodging. Still, compared to how hard he was dodging the coordinated attack, he could only attack the closer warriors once or twice.
"No, it is really annoying! I want to snipe the archers but they don't even give me an opening. Help me!"
"The assassin?"
"It's better to face a 3 melee class rather than those nasty archers. I need you to aggro the archer. Ah- wait!"
Arceede expression has become excited. He licked his lip while smiling.
He was dodging some attack with some close side step and rushed to the opposing goblin warrior on his left.
He charged with his shoulder and collided with him.
Khiii?!
The opposing goblin seemed flustered while falling to the ground.
It was about to continue the attack but more flustered by what it saw.
The human in front of him was smiling at him cunningly. But, that was not the important part.
"Damn! This is it!"
The human started backing off from the current situation and gave something to his companion.
"You steal the weapon!?"
"I know right!" He replied to his companion with a grin.
"Cool! It might be a thing we can abuse!"
"Haha, you capitalist!"
"Don't blame me, blame the world we live in."
"Doesn't matter, let's begin the second round!"
"Just a reminder, I have civilian stats."
"And you know that it is not that big of a problem?"
Avia, with a sword as his new weapon, has a smirk on his face as the answer.
