Chapter 54 - Involvement

It's a busy evening in Hoshido, where people hurries back to their homes under the light shower. A familiar man stood above them, watching them from afar.

"Ame, the girl who you inflicted the curse on is no longer under your control. What can you do about it?" The man asked.

"I don't know." The rain goddess appeared next to the man, speaking in an emotionless tone.

"She's more or less being contracted to another being when she left Hoshido. That is one possibility to it." The man said.

"I'm sorry... I caused you such trouble..." Ame apologized. Still emotionless, but one may feel that she felt guilty about this.

"When demons appear, just exorcise it. That has always been the way." The man said while withdrawing his sword from its sheath and pointed it forward.

"Ooh... Scary..." Ame said as she disappears. The rain stopped and the sky turns clear. The man sighs. The blade part of his sword disappeared like mist, leaving only the handle part. The man walks down to the street level, a few men walked up to him and greeted with full respect.

"Kurosaki-sama! We detected an abnormality around this area, which is why we..." The men's words were stopped as Kurosaki Junichirou stops them.

"I understand, you may return to your organisation, I'll take care of this." Jun said.

"But...!" The men struggled to come up with a response.

"I'm given the authority of the gods for a purpose." Jun adds.

"Please be careful! Is what the Shinigami asked us to tell you." One of the men said nervously.

"I see. Send her my regards too." Jun said as he nodes before he walks off to the crowded streets.

"So that is a god... The amount of pressure we just felt is because of the tremendous flow of spiritual energy revolving around him..." One of the men said.

"We're doing what we were told, given the same circumstances, the others would struggle like us just now!" The other man replied.

"Haha! You better be right, let's grab a drink before we head back tomorrow." The other man cheered up and walked to the streets.

"The roaming spirit that came from overseas, how did that happen? Is it because the barrier is weakened? Or it's that Kurosaki-sama..." The man who remained behind thinks deeply as he follows the other man to a bar, where they spend their night in before leaving in the next day.

It's a new day, which the school assembly is held every Mondays. The principal and teachers would relay their messages and speeches to students ensure students are well informed of recent events and future events as well.

"The student council will organise the events that happen in the school. Please give them an applause for them to introduce themselves." The principal introduces the student council. As the rumoured student council president is the highest achiever in both sports and academics the students applauded excitedly.

"I thank you for the introduction, Mr principal. I'm Amanogawa Chisato, the president of the student council. We look forward to see potential members that will take our place in the future. However, please do not break any school rules. That is all from me. Thank you." As Chisato leaves the stage, the loud applause from the students lasted longer than a minute.

"What's their problem?" Keita asked.

"Well, she's a popular student, with that looks and all sorts of achievements she's got, she's easily the most likable student in this school. Not for me anyways." Itsuki said.

"I never thought you're into guys." Keita said.

"What?! What caused you to jump to that conclusion?!" Itsuki got agitated.

"Why, I'm just teasing you for a moment there. Look, Amanogawa-senpai is looking at you." Keita pointed.

"You...!" Itsuki is clearly enraged, but calms down after a while.

"Both of you, follow me." Chisato said to Keita and Itsuki.

"Eh?! Me?" Itsuki reacted.

"Sure." Keita followed.

"Wait, are you thinking that she's about to talk to us nicely and everything?" Itsuki asked.

"I don't see any problems with that." Keita replied.

"Talking in the middle of an assembly, you could have easily missed the messages from the teachers." Chisato said in a stern tone.

"Oh my... We're gonna get an earful..." Itsuki sighed.

"..." Keita listened in silence.

"... That's all, you may return to your line." Chisato finished scolding them and asked them return to their line.

"It must be hard to be with her..." Itsuki mumbled as he walks back to his line.

"I don't see any problems with that." Keita said.

"What? are you insane? Why am I dragged into this with you? You're listening to everything she said right? Are you a masochist?" Itsuki asked.

"Who knows?" Keita responded.

"Eww... Gross." Itsuki reacted.

"Amanogawa-san, where had you been?" A student who appeared to be a part of the student council approached Chisato.

"Just looking out for some potential members. That boy has potential, it seems." Chisato said.

"Uh... It's just the beginning of the semester... What potential could you find...?" The student asked.

"Well, I call that the women's instinct." Chisato said.

"Ugh... Can't really argue with you about that." The student said.

"By the way, Shimamura-san." Chisato called.

"What is it?" The student responded.

"Can you get the names of the two boys I confronted earlier? I'd like to know more about them." Chisato requested.

"You know... Looking up on student's information isn't good at all president..." The student tried to reason.

"Please...? Shinosuke-kun?" Chisato suddenly asked in a cute voice.

"Whoa! What?! President! We're in school now!" Shinosuke is flustered.

"I can only rely on you about this... You're a guy after all..." Chisato continued.

"Urgh! Just this time!" Shinosuke agreed.

"Good. I expect good news from you." Chisato returned to her solemn mode.

"Ah... I just... That's Amanogawa-san for you... Getting what she wants by doing that." Shinosuke sighs.

"Isn't that only for you?" A girl wearing glasses suddenly appeared behind Shinosuke.

"Whoa! Yukimura-san! You've done it again!" Shinosuke almost yelled.

"They didn't call me the ghost girl of Hokutosei for no reason." Yukimura said.

"You're not going to feel proud of that aren't you, Yukimura Mayoi?" Shinosuke commented.

"Very. Ever since the president found me, I've never feel so proud of myself like this." Mayoi said.

"Talk about being a simp..." Shinosuke mumured.

"I'm here to inform you that the registration forms are to be approved and signed by you." Mayoi showed a picture of a mountain of paperwork on top of Shinosuke's seat in the student council's room.

"I see..." Shinosuke's face went pale.

"Right, if you understand, it's time for me to disappear again. Au revoir~" Mayoi said as she walks away.

"Ah... This year is going to be a rough one..." Shinosuke lamented.
