Chapter 8 - Broken. 《1》

I was back again. I felt like ripping open my soul. I took a huge gasp and got up as I was aware of this and my eyes were filled with tears. I looked up and saw that I wasn't in my world anymore.

Then I looked up to see Kian, who was the person beside me that actually was the person who's supposed to sit in the place I was sitting on who was undoubtedly afraid of how I looked.

"Are you alright?" He said as he backed off of his place until he was basically sitting on Deanna's table. But as always, she's over at Kate's seat which is located a seat in front of Cathryn's. And Cathryn's studying with Hannah over at mine.

"Oh no, I'm fine. I'm sorry." I said as I wiped my tears off using the white handkerchief that I brought. "No, it's okay. But what happened to you?" He said with a look on his face as he leaned a bit to me. I looked at him for a bit. "Nightmare." I said. "Does my eyes look swollen?" I said as I felt a mild throbbing pain in both my eyes that slowly went away.

"Quite a bit, but you can get away with it if you just say you had an allergy attack." He said as we laughed together. Then I felt my heartbeat starting to get fast.

"Oh, sorry. You can sit here if you want." I said while I stood up and noticed the table was wet from my tears.

Then I panicked. I suddenly used my handkerchief to wipe the whole thing dry so fast that I looked like I was one of those people in fast food chains who cleans the tables.

"Haha, it's okay. I noticed it before you did." He said. "No, it's okay. I was just gonna return my book under my desk." He added while he held his book and looked at it. "Have you studied for the exam?" He added as he stopped playing with his book. "Not really, but it's fine." I replied back as I turned to face him.

"I can teach you for now while the teacher's not arrived yet." He said in an insisting tone. "Oh no, it's okay." I replied. "Come on, I insist." He said ad he grabbed Deanna's chair and placed his book on the table and sat beside me so close. "I knew it." I thought.

He smelled so fragrant. His smell penetrated through my senses that attracted my presence. An aroma so strong that resembles a long day in a garden filled with so much flowers that smelled so sweet.

He started talking as he opened his book, my body could feel his voice and I would just smile. And I couldn't stop looking at him. "Do you get me?" He asked as he looked at me and then suddenly, our eyes were just inches away. I could feel his breath as he was finishing his sentence. Then we both blushed and turned to the book immediately.

"Yes. I get it." I said. "Oh okay, good." He replied and after that we were both like stone. We just didn't move at all. Kian turned the book to the next. Then I just couldn't stop thinking about it.

My mind raced a thouand thoughts within as my heart pumped faster and heavier. My body warmed up especially my face.

"And that's how you identify the degrees of the angles in an intersection of a transverse and parallel line." He said but then I couldn't hear anything before that so I just agreed to him with a nod.

"Good." He said with a stern face as he was still focusing his watch on the book.

"Oh no, is he angry at me?" I thought reacting to what he did earlier. "Huh? Did you say something?" He said that broke his focus teaching me. "Oh no, nothing. You can proceed." I said. "No questions?" He asked me with a smile on his face. "None, Sir Kian!" I said while we giggled together.

He giggled too, then he patted my head "Wow, you're such a fast learner!" He said. Then I blushed. I looked at him and we locked eyes for a moment. "Anyways, let's continue." I said as I broke the eye contact and looked at the book again.

"That was actually the last of it." He said to me. "Wait, really?" I said as I flipped through the pages we went through. "Yeah! You're so amazing!" He said as he put his arm around me and laid his hand on my shoulder.

I was suddened by this but I couldn't resist so I just went with the flow. Then he leaned his head on my shoulder and I was really, really blown away by how good he smelled. Then a breeze flew through him and hit me. Then I just felt like I was dancing through a field of sweet, fragrant and delicate roses.

"Nathan! Can you come here for a bit?" I heard at a distance. I turned to see who had called my name and it was Hannah, who was studying with Cathryn. Then Kian got up and said "Well, I better go, Cathryn's waiting for you. Bye." He said then waved as we parted. Him, going to Rose. I, going to Hannah.

I walked over the talking pair, one frustrated the other, laughing. "What the heck, looks like I missed a whole lot of things." I said as I took a chair and sat between the two.

"Can you help me? Your "girlfriend" is so hard to teach!" Hannah said while scratching her head. "Don't talk nonsense!" Cathryn said as her smiled turned into a poker face.

"Wait what? What happened?" I said with a look so unsure. "I tried my best. I give up." Hannah said. "Don't" Cathryn said as she burst into laughter. Then Kian looked at us and I'm pretty sure that all he saw was a wreck.

(Kian's PoV)

While Rose was drawing, the four of us talked. It was a shame that Nathan wasn't here to make us five complete.

"I give up." I heard at a distance followed by a burst of laughter into the air. I turned around to see what made all that noise and I saw Hannah who was frustrated, Cathryn who was laughing out loud and Nathan who was unsure.

I smiled because of how they looked.

"What a wreck." I said and turned back.

(Back to Nathan's PoV)

I saw Kian turn around and back again. I called him with a shout and he turned around immediately. "Yes?" He answered back. "Can you come here for a bit?" I asked him and he quickly got up and went to me. While the two were arguing about math, Kian came and squatted upon me. "Yes, why?" He said looking up at me. "Can you help these two? They keep babbling on about math." I replied.

He got up and wore his glasses. And I thought he just looked so much more attractive. "Don't worry. I'll handle this." He said and interrupted two right between them. "Stop it already. I'm here to fix it." He said and looked at me and smiled.

Then that moment I felt like everything was so good. But then again, I only "felt" good.
